Law firm Fox Williams are trying to inspire a class action law suit against Entain over the very murky Turkish affair. We were told the sale was worth $180M - then the Maltese "buyers" were let off paying and given it for free. None of this made any sense at the time. Entain shareholders lost out: who ultimately benefited?

I’m waiting to pick some up for around the 6.30 mark…will hopefully keep drifting down.

Hello - where is the announcement that the CFO is standing down?
Any bets on Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson as CEO?
Very odd to only announce the CFO is standing down when this would’ve been taken into account a while back…

Nice to see the Captain’s hubby loading up again, there is one thing for sure, he knows more than us!
Taking my profit here today, I'm not confident in FTSE therefore it will drag this down. Good luck guys

Agreed massive summer of sport ahead. House always wins so rather than investing in the sports markets I'm getting heavily involved in entain shares at these prices.
6 major sport events are coming up - https://egamersworld.com/blog/the-major-sporting-events-of-2024-and-how-to-bet-o-yzznxGPPK
Betting big on the HOUSE, extremely bullish
Flutter is down 13 per cent this morning as it is moving to US listing. This could be the reason for this mornings fall. Now's a good time to buy.
Added more at 645, just made this my biggest position in the portfolio

And T20 World Cup as well.
Big support today up 2 per cent in the last hour.
Expect this to bounce back over the summer with the euros and Olympics to boost profits in the short term.
There is a general malaise in the market the last week or so, but this looks oversold. A good entry point and I can see significant gains in the next 9 to 12 months, especially when they sort out their management issues. As they say, the house always wins....

These are still looking very expensive on a forecast PE of over 20
Would not be surprised to see them fall to £4 or less
Potentially higher taxes in some U.S states. Will have a big impact on expansion for the likes of flutter, won't affect entain as much.
What are the new US gambling laws?
I mean they want to eat the golden goose before its even begun laying, given the level of deficits in the US, you do wonder if other states will follow suit, and if they do, the US opportunity suddenly looks overpriced, so yeah, concerning move tbh and has made me reassess the sector quite hard now
We hit 691p a while ago. No wonder when flutter is down 5 per cent today with the new gambling laws in the US

I believe that the board have woken up at the wheel before the impact. Ronald Kramer is a good signing and fair play to the interim, she is walking her talk with that investment, many don’t. One thing is for sure, potential suitors will know that they will have a sympathetic ear from Ricky! The potential for Entain is enormous, which is why I invested today. GLA.
BoDs asleep at the wheel
Entain plc (LSE: ENT), the global sports betting and gaming group, announces the following board committee composition changes with immediate effect:
Amanda Brown is appointed as Chair of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the People and Governance Committee. David Satz is appointed as Chair of the Sustainability and Compliance Committee. Virgina McDowell will continue as a member of the Remuneration Committee and the Sustainability and Compliance Committee.
Meanwhile: Moody's on Monday lowered Entain’s (ENT.L) outlook to negative from stable, while affirming its corporate family rating at Ba1 and probability of default rating at Ba1-PD.
The rating agency said the outlook revision is based on its expectations that the betting and gaming company will not meet the Ba1 leverage guidance due to additional debt as well as board changes and the departure of Chief Executive Officer Jette Nygaard-Andersen.
Far more concerning than the indolence displayed by the Entain BoD is the declining, now third placed position, of BetMGM in the USA. Flutter (FanDuel) and DraftKings (share price up 95% in 12 months) are now the two leaders and breaking away from the "also rans". The competition in the USA is about to get even hotter. ESPNbet and a company called Fanatics are apparently geared up to enter the market and are very well funded. When they throw that funding into their marketing effort some existing participants will get damaged.
No reason to buy here, only holding on for a bid (which could be a bad bet).

I assume the interim ceo is hoping to make a quick buck when someone saves this by taking it over.
I see the interim CEO bought £1.4m worth of these about 2% below where we're sitting now. New CEO could be announced any day now and send this back in the other direction.

It does look a juicy target right now, probably yet another FTSE company taken out by the Americans.
I agree. Anything under £8 is a snip
I personally have this as my most likely 2024 takeover target. I just fail to see how this will not either be fully taken over or broken up imminently given the depressed share price, previous bids, growth opportunity and lack of CEO. The chair who stupidly turned down big money bids in the past is leaving, I think we will have to wait a matter of weeks until we see the first disposal or approach. DYOR

In corals for past 2 hours
I've seen more staff than customers
They can't be making any money when you factor in electric rent and staff
And they have tons of shops around the country all the same no customers
Someone need to ask at next earning call what the profit margins are and ask them to close the unprofitable shops
I work in retail gambling most shops are empty
Retail revenues down 7% year on year every companies retail is down
I'd love to know which shops are profitable
Have a look at the ladbrokes and corals In your area and see if their full
Obviously someone who has no idea about the rerail business. The shops are thriving.
Uk and Ireland retail is cooked only a matter of time before shops are getting shut or sold
50:50, but the doctors say there's only a 10% chance of that.
Love the way Entain share price moves. Initial rally, only to lose all its gains in the rest of the session.

Outgoing Chair Barry Gibson had 5.36% votes against him. Just as well he's going. More worrying is new Board member Ron Kramer has 15.34% vote against him. Hardly a strong endorsement. Wonder what the shareholders who voted against him know and should we be worried? Not impressed by Virginia McDowell 4.13% votes against either. This Board really needs to step up to gain shareholder confidence. A new CEO with relevant experience and a good reputation and from outside the company would be a start. Wish they would live up to their fiduciary responsibilities.

Yes. very odd it has taken so long to find another CEO. Maybe old Chair was the block? Him going probably a positive, but concern new Chair is an insider and will be same old same old. Need new CEO, New Board, New Chair, new strategy.
Coming up to four months now with no CEO; those approached must have turned it down. What is this BoD playing at? Leaderless, clueless and directionless, very vulnerable to a cheap offer. It will be cheap because MGM Resorts can make life very difficult for any new partner. We don't know all the details of the JV but I would not be surprised if MGM Resorts do not have a veto on any buyer for Entain or possibly a buyout clause in the event of a takeover.
Wake up BoD and start earning your fees!!

There are far bigger things to think about than who won a golf tournament or which horse a race. Bookmakers love to pretend punters have given them a spanking; they just tend to make a smaller profit if the favourite wins.
Added for a trade, looks like there is something behind the story.

Not sure why -888 up also.
I think many have realised this was way oversold. I could imagine seeing this heading back to £12 over time as a fair value
Up over 10% in two sessions.
Has Kenneth Alexander agreed to return as CEO ! ! ?

Looks like someone at betmgm has screwed up their proposition. I was in GVC very early on, made decent money. gutted didnt get out at the high with the draftking chat....but glad to say I have been out for a while. MGM might come in with another bid but cant see it being a big premium (no one else can bid against them really)...I see this staying stagnant like Ladbrokes did.
It would be very nice if you were right, but if you research why the deal never happened you may decide that Draftkings won't comeback at all.
From what I read and remember from the time (2021), Draftkings approached Entain about a takeover but never made a formal offer. Press sources suggested that the Entain board were unhappy at the very large Draftkings share content to the proposed offer (rather than cash) particularly because Draftkings had reported huge losses. When Draftkings withdrew and said they were not going to make a formal offer, they would not say why they had withdrawn. The reasons for the withdrawal speculated in the press were the largely share based nature of any offer AND, more importantly, that as MGM had a 50% stake in the BetMGM operation which was an exclusive agreement between them and Entain, MGM had to consent to any takeover of Entain and they were unlikely to consent if a major rival was involved. [Source: Global Brands magazine to refresh my memory].
If this latter piece of information is correct, it will be very difficult for any large betting company other than MGM to take over Entain and get involved in the joint BetMGM operation. This, of course still leaves it open to MGM to make a further bid for Entain (which they previously tried for double the current market cap of Entain).
Let's not forget that Draftking offered 3x the current market cap just 2 years ago. I think they will probably make another offer this year considering how low the price is now.
