HK you're doing it again - pumping, either report facts or don't post. The buys and sells are more skewed towards the sellers today - look at the price movements. The markets don't lie - they just point out fools

I can't see it delisting any time soon. A delisting would either be a dual listing on another exchange, full relisting on a new exchange or a sale. All of which take time and as long as you keep a core holding will push the price up. Out of all the B&G companies I prefer Entain. Long may the golden goose keep laying. IFLTS

I follow all B&G stocks. Got lucky with 888 (ooops Range Rover) but like Entain. I trade over 12 different accounts, buys start at £20K and go down to £10K when I'm running out of money. I start to accumulate sub 5.50 and wait for a drop to buy into a different account. Once I've filled the 12 with £20K. I start back to the first, I've only done that once because usually by then it's popped above 5.50 and on the way to 5.70, by 5.80 I'm all sold out wishing it to drop. 6.20 last week was painful to watch I thought the golden goose had flown. If it drops below 5.00 I will continue to buy until my money runs out and then sit on my hands. Will start to sell chunks above 5.50. Hope this cycle lasts for a long time

I would like to apologise for my price prediction some months ago. I was 4p out. My prediction was 56p for the first bidder with an increase to 65p once rejected by shareholders. I suspect we will get an up lift here probably to 58 - 60p. Welcome to all those that held, especially Ironshield who like me will be walking away with a significant profit. As I kept saying KYP!

KYPD - it's that simple. The day to day ups and downs shouldn't alter the fact that there is a deal being negotiated as we speak and sleep. Bally wants Evoke, they are getting the bargain of the century, it they bail (pardon the pun) there will be other ways to maximise shareholder capital. Just remember one family has a very large stake in this and so too does a specialist hedge fund who's average is 34.5p. I still expect this to go north of 50p because the offer will be rejected and won't get the 75% approval. I'll stick my neck out and say 64p

DJ I disagree, they have kitchensinked the losses this is standard practice before an acquisition. They are gearing up for a sale. It's a gamble to hold but a 25% upside will be very welcome. I've reduced my holding by 75% but intend to spin the wheel for the remaining 25%

DJ it makes a big difference as it removes friction and provides a transparent true valuation of the business and the accounting loss can be carried forward (good for any prospective buyers who can leverage this against future profits). This is why the accounts were delayed. This is the guidance the advisors would have suggested. This sets up the company for a real sale not just thinking about it. I'm looking forward to my 50p

KYPD. The loss reported by Evoke was made up of an 80% impairment charge.

This is Evoke cleaning up its balance sheet for a sale. They are writing down their UK asset value and taking the hit now.

When a company is in a strategic review, buyers will always challenge the carrying value of assets. If Evoke didn’t take the impairment now, any bidder would:

- demand a lower price

- force the write‑down during due diligence

- use it as leverage to reduce the offer

By taking the hit themselves, Evoke:

- removes a negotiation weapon from bidders

- presents a “clean” balance sheet

- signals transparency

- avoids a buyer‑imposed haircut later

This is classic pre‑transaction positioning.

Wisdom KYPD the dance around the handbags is yet to start this is the opening position. The board has to act in favour of it's shareholders regarding disposals we all need to place our votes on whether we accept the final offer. At least 75% of us are needed for approval otherwise the offer is rejected. That is why in most statements leading up to a takeover the board will say that this is information only and shareholders don't need to do anything. It's only when it goes to vote the tone changes and the board will indicate they are in favour and will ask for shareholders support and will ask us to vote in favour. If the deal is crap then you have your say in the vote.

Newbie. Firstly what did you do when the price dipped to 28p did you back the truck up?

Let's not think about the final price but the statement from the board. They are considering an offer. That says to me they believe and so do their advisors that there is more value to be had. The current offer reflects only 10% of the entire purchase value and as the debt isn't increasing (it's fixed) a 50% increase in the offer price to 75p would result in around the total deal value increasing by only 5%. There is plenty of upside between 75 to 100 in my mind and that's why Ironshield went balls deep. Remember shareholders have to approve this and there is a required 75% approval needed.
