LGEN Vs AV14 Jul 2024 11:15
Your considered thoughts if I may.
I've built a gain in Aviva and I'm considering flipping this into L&G (capital & gain) mainly due to the threat of a new CGT policy that could be either implemented:
1. retrospectively - not going to help me
2. from the autumn budget - need to act swiftly
3. from next tax year 25/26 - sometime to work out a plan
My options:
1. Sell AV and instantly buy LGEN before both go ex-dividend
2. Sell AV wait 31 days and then buy AV back
3. Sell AV and instantly buy LGEN when both are ex-dividend (this may reduce my gain)
Will I regret flipping AV to LGEN, which as longer term potential.
I hate doing these things, as its the tax tail wagging the dog!
Any thoughts much appreciated
