It's all internal for a least 2 months
Get real dude
Switzerland, Germany and Austria begin relaxing border restrictions this weekend, ahead of a full reopening which will include France in mid-June.
The relaxation means friends, families and lovers divided by the border closures will be able to meet again.
The four countries, all members of the Schengen open-border zone, shut their frontiers in March in a bid to control the spread of the coronavirus.
Road, rail, and air travel were halted. Neighbourhoods were divided. Couples who lived on either side of the border found themselves separated. Different generations of the same family could no longer visit each other.
But for tourists, shoppers and the simply curious the frontiers stay closed.
Italy plans to reopen borders with no restrictions on June 3
Travel throughout country to be allowed in attempt to kick-start tourism in time for summer
f.t.
There only opening borders internally on the 15th June it's a slow start so don't pack your bucket and spade til September if hour lucky
On the quarantine policing if your an oap or self employed it's so.ething you could try and dodge if your working lime me when I go back to work they will send you home meaning a month or 3 weeks off not practical for the workers is it
Italy opening borders no Quarantine the rule for it here will change sooner than is thought,How could they police self isolation on people returning from holiday ? Just take there word for it ?.
That was already factored in one would think after Han**** spoke about it previously!
DTG is trading nicely between 4.50-4.75 and 5.50-6! Great for trading at the moment!
Fowler and Welch make no money really it's peanuts get real anyone who thinks otherwise
I suspect you're correct that future government assistance will be forthcoming for TUI, however €7bn in current liabilities with only €1bn cash on hand (after a German government loan of €1.8bn) keeps me away from the stock. Good finish on Wall Street today, including airline stocks, so I'm expecting a decent rise tomorrow.
Their cash burn isn't huge in the grand scheme of things compared to the likes of BA. They also have Fowler-Welch which I going great guns at the minute. DTG update today on bookings is encouraging. Not really fussed with TUI if I'm honest. They won't scale back by choice. What airline would when they are leasing aircraft? It will be determined by country restrictions. People are desperate to go on holiday. Look at the twin towers tragedy. Humans are fickle. Yes its a virus, but you are likely to survive it. Whereas, a bomb explosion mid-air is guaranteed death but people still chose to fly soon enough in 2001....
Yes excellent news, the uncertainty removed and it’s onwards and upwards. This loan will ensure they survive through these difficult times..
What I was hoping for too but the German government will probably just bail them out like they already have done even though their business is terrible and not investment grade at all.
Even so they will have to scale back operations significantly more than DTG and this will help DTG.
Agree on both fronts. I was worried that they may not get approved. With this, they will easily survive a prolonged grounding. TUI has huge liabilities due this year and not enough money to pay them...if DTG makes it and TUI go under this is going to rocket
DTG just secured Covid Loan financing if they need it, currently unutilised. I predirect it will be around £300m+ given easyjets was £600m and they are 2x size.
Without the loan I think they can last till Janurary 2021 without revenue worst case scenario but now they should be able to for March 2021 without revenue.
So I really think they will survive now unless more outbreaks and lockdowns happen again.
There not folks just don't know it yet
How can holidays take place before pubs and restaurants are allowed to open? odd?
From Jet2.com - "Due to the ongoing uncertainty caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we’ve decided to recommence our flights programme on 17 June 2020. If you're travelling before this date, unfortunately, your booking will be affected as our flights won't be operating.". Posted on 23 April so may be amended as events unfold.
According to a friend had an e mail informing him , anyone else heard anything??
The news cycle is starting to look more bullish, as EU look to salvage something of the summer season.

As Millionaire says, Jet2 has been good at refunding passengers. I booked a package to the Balaerics with Jet2 Holidays in February with a 4th April UK departure date. The holiday was cancelled by Jet2 Holidays in late March. I was offered the options of deferring the holiday, booking a new holiday at a later date or taking a credit voucher. I declined those options and emailed operations to ask for a refund instead. Jet2 Holidays emailed back and processed the refund onto my original payment card very promptly.
It can be that the customer service reps are trained to encourage customers to have a credit note or re book but you can have a cash refund if you want. I saw on a Facebook thread lots of people very happy with their smooth full cash refunds on package holidays and flights alike. I know they are processing things in date order so it might be that they aren’t up to June yet .
Regardless do you have thoughts on their business plan going forward? Will they adapt and come up with Britain package holidays or expand on freight as I can imagine shopping sales are through the roof many options to adjust a business plan imo .
Or will they - just stay grounded and do nothing?
