Couldn't agree more Kenny. Impose a fine to the value of the cost of necessary repairs/improvements with an option that the fine will not be imposed if the works are completed in say 12/18 months. If they fail then take the fine money and get a contractor to do the work.

All very good fining the water companies but who receives the money ? Why not spend the fine in improving the infrastructure and prevent/control the pollution ? More radical, instruct the companies to do what's required with, say, a 6 month time limit or Govt. will construct whatever is necessary and billthe company accordingly. Just a thought !

Like most on here I'm disaapointed with the lack of progress . That said I'm cheered by recent posts, being the proud owner of a lock up garage in Scarborough I seem to heve been elevated to a level of business acumen that I thought was beyond me.
