Millionaire, was it a flight only or a package holiday?
If the holiday/flight gets cancelled you’ll get a full refund.
My flight to Florence in April was cancelled and I’ve just received the refund back into my account.
Was pretty seamless, didn’t have to fill any silly forms out or anything.
Queenie, they have made no comment in relation to a full refund although that was his preference. He has been told that if the holiday is cancelled an option to re book another holiday later I. The year or a credit note to be used in the next 12 months.
From a shareholder point of view it helps a little with cash flow but potentially damages the company’s customer relations. That said when you look at RYA and the way they treat customers with contempt clearly people are fickle and cannot resist competitive pricing.
Roxbury, no problem and thanks for the note. TBF, I hope it pans out with AVCT, was just frustrated with all the AVCT chat on a DTG thread - that' s all!!!
I bought more DTG today after it bombed. Only recently held and just hoping its a placing , rather than Meeson offloading.
Tallpaul. Not interested in AVCT so no need for me to concern myself with Mr O Leary. That said, hope it goes well for you.
Leas , will your friend not be entitled to a refund once the holiday is officially cancelled by Jet2 or will they always only be entitled to a credit note ?
Going forward do you think they will adapt a business plan or stay grounded ?
- I’m very new to this so excuse the somewhat lack of knowledge. I’d just feel more comfortable clicking on buy if I knew they were going to adapt to the new found “stay home”in your own country holiday idea
Queenie, the good customer service will be damaged if they are not honest with their customers. A friend of mine has a family holiday booked in June to Turkey. There is not a cat in hells chance of a fully inclusive holiday going ahead in that month but they have made him pay the full amount.
They threatened him with refusing to return the substantial deposit if he didn’t pay the full amount but said he will get a credit note if cancelled.
They are clearly using this tactic to keep their cash pile. Needless to say he won’t be booking with them again.
Crooty. Maybe you should ask yourself why Michael O’Leary is a major shareholder in Avacta?
Jet2 are renowned for their amazing customer service so once this is all over people will go back to them as choice of holiday company in my opinion .
Maybe they could do to temporarily change their business plan. Once lockdown has eased off ok peeps won’t want to go abroad if there’s the 14 day quarantine / feel nervous about covid but will want to still go on holiday in England . Human nature is such that we will want a holiday . Their hub is right in the middle of the UK in Leeds. They could fly to Scotland or to Devon etc and we could still have lovely holidays in our own country without facing hours on the motorway. I for one like the idea of exploring England’s farthest corners but don’t want to drive hours. A flight would be max 1 hour one end to the other.
There’s no real difference sat on a bus or tube versus sat on a flight.
Just random thoughts I’m new to all this but was concidering buying if I thought they could adapt business to this new situation.
Do people think jet2 will adapt a business plan or stay grounded and ride out covid ?
@Crooty....for you information, that was not intended as a ramp. I was pointing out that contrary to what the naysayers are saying about airlines, flights, cruises etc. the introduction of rapid Antigen tests will make a huge difference to their future.
So with all due respect, mind your own business and either accept or do not accept my advice about a matter that will be of huge importance for DTG and other airline/cruise leisure groups. I will continue to offer advice where I think it might help..
Oh, and by the way, that is the very reason that I bought back into DTG again today.
Sorry Crooty didn't mean to offend. I also own Dart shares but you have to see that they these companies are now linked. I can't wait to go on holiday again and have flown (no doubt like most people reading this) with Jet2 numerous times but there is no way I will be flying again until either this virus has gone completely or I know that everybody on that plane has just been tested and clear.
Coming here I believe! Jet 2 is a lovely Business but in a horrendous sector currently with unbelievable headwinds!
More big down swings to come accross all the airlines imo.
Be careful out there!

Go away with your AVCT ramping crap. THIS IS THE DTG CHAT. AVCT has already risen 600%, with a market cap of £250m with a recent loss last year of £15.5m on £5m of sales according to ADVFN. Success is already fairly priced in. My point is this the DTG thread, so let's stick to that and stop ramping other stocks
I'd seriously suggest researching exactly what Avacta's Affimer actually does. I'll not bore you with the detail here, but once the rapid test is complete and hits the market, the game will have changed forever.
And elephants will fly.
Current liabilities for September was around £1.4bn from memory, including the customer deposits. Very little of this was debt or lease liabilities. Net current assets were just shy of £600m. The company is second only to Wizz in terms of ability to survive.
Listen up everybody Avacta (AVCT) are at the final stages of producing a Covid19 test that is just like a pregnancy test. If successful it will take a few minutes to tell you if you currently have this horrible virus. It doesn't involve labs and analyses your saliva. This is not a ramp yes I hold both Avct and Dart but I suggest you keep your eye on them because if they perfect this test then it will be the golden ticket we all need to start flying again! IMOH
They have large liabities due soo. over s billion Imho
£1.5bn cash in hand on 18th of March, and £100m of credit drawn down. I reckon their cash burn is about £66.5m per month, so they should be fine even assuming 100% customer refunds. If they can get this £300m from the covid finance facility then they should make it to summer 21 even without revenue this year
Probably shot down, but ............ what DTG require is a RI ASAP to bolster the Accounts and confidence.
With only 149m shares in issue, they could raise a reasonable amount and still not have too many shares in issue.
No problem MD.J.Morgan I too am sorry if my post in any way offended you. I just think that they will find a way to overcome this problem in time. I would pay for an antibody blood test or other test so I could go on holibobs and travel safely. And I’d be happy to share a cabin with others who had the same. I wish you well. It’s been a heck of a week. All the best and good luck in your investments. See you on holiday soon. LOL!
I assume that MD J Morgan is a Doctor. I love people that feel the need to put the letters in their title to self- justify their importance to everyone else. And then blind everyone with science. Soo clever are you.
Thanks for the BS token as well. Typical MD arrogance. Who are you to put other’s opinions down?
Naturally, I was not advocating performing the tests at the airport. Only an idiot would think of that as a proposal. The idea is that one would have the tests beforehand and have an immunity passport. Live long and prosper.
Dart still have underlying assets and goodwill of uk public. This will be a tough year for aerospace. However there is a LOT of work going on behind the scenes to get protocols in place to gradually unlock travel. We will not be travelling until you have proof that you have antibodies or have been vaccinated. If you have this you are good to go. So if a family who have been tested and have antibodies want to travel, why not? Lockdowns will need to be removed for these small groups first nationally then for international travel. This will dawn on govt soon that there is already a safe group within the population who can go about life in relative safety. GLA stay safe
