If you think this you dont know the telecoms business or the business dynamic of deploying dark fibre. The reasons for Cityfibres success thus far is that they have gradually acquired infrastructure that other less savvy organisations have built. The cost of laying duct/fibre from scrath is just the very reason so many other telco's have shied away. But dark fibre infrastucture business case usually needs a 5-10 year cycle. If you already have core infrastructure in many major towns and Cities the business case starts to become almost impossible to ignore and that is one of CF's massive strengths. Any other telco will partner with CF as appropriate and will not go off in a sulk and spend millions they dont have to.
Ang,ie is a buyer of Dark Fibre from the following ......Inc CityFibre . They won'yt be wiping out City Fibre , they are partners 360 Communications, Agilent Technologies, Alcatel-Lucent, Apple, Arqiva, Atlantic Telecom, ATT, Bell Labs, BT, Cable & Wireless, City Reach, CityFibre, Colt, euNetworks, Ericsson, Hibernia Networks, HP, Kcom, KPM, Interoute, Level3 Communications, Lucent, MOD, Motorola, NASA, Nokia, Numericable, O2, Openreach, Orange, Quest, Telefonica, Telia Sonera, Sky, SSE Telecoms, Stentor, Sycamore, Tata Communications, Three, Viatel, Verizon, Virgin Media, Vodafone, Zayo.
World’s largest telecom start-up, Angie Communications is spending billions of pounds to build ‘Ultra-Intelligent Wireless Gigabit Cities’ and offering service at only £30 per month. It is also offering service to everyone including Residential Customers. You can take your Gigabit connection with you when you leave home. http://www.pressat.co.uk/releases/slough-uk-to-become-worlds-first-fully-functional-wireless-gigabit-and-smart-city-645facde5fa3772d8fd5d9619abe2cc4/#ixzz4DhojKvbX
from city. they just keep coming. Becoming very interesting. But DYOR to be sure
Non- profit making contract this time from Capita. lol further suport going forward
Non-profit making contract from City. lol they are starting to add up now.
Yeah exactly right........Who knows
Lester1967. A good observation. Nice one!
I would advise caution here. New network rollout costs a fortune. All the cable companies went bust (several times) over the years trying to build network, basically retaining the asset and starting again with no over heads. This company itself was born out of the assets of H20 networks that went under in 2012. Familiar names amongst the directors if you care to look at companies house. Maybe it's a rinse and repeat job, but this time with investors money - who knows. In addition the recent contract 'wins' are actually commitments by partners, over a number of years to sell connections. So not guaranteed, and the announced wins do not contribute to revenue or bottom line. DYOR
Flowing along well now,
ELHumphreys, this Company is making good progress and will continue to do so, it's model will work fine just as it does for example with Vodafone whom uses a mix of it's own Fibres, Virgin Media and BT to access it's own Network. You are scraping around for negatives for some purpose only known by you
Woodford Investment Management LLP now at 16% Thats just says it all really. DYOR
I knew I could rely on mr negative at this time. Ha Ha DYOR
£7.0m new business is a hypothetical figure and not guaranteed. Just like Southend, it won’t be feasible for CityFibre to provide its own ‘Alternative Network’ on a Shoestring Budget and will have to rely on using BT’s ducts and poles. More revenue for BT. DYOR
£7.0m of new business on Milton Keynes and Northampton networks DYOR
I dont expect City thought they would get it for free, not in the real world. DYOR
I see this as really very good news, perhaps areas which have been poor speed will benefit from City's approach. BT were always going to say it would be difficult for them to comply But I have seen local BT cabinets and they are nearly empty. DYOR always on both BT and City
CityFibre badgering BT to gain access to BT’s Infrastructure ASAP! CityFibre CEO Greg Mesch said that CityFibre is ready to go with this and is looking at using BT’s infrastructure in a lot of its Cities. http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2016/05/local-fibre-company-may-be-the-first-to-enter-bts-hallowed-ducts/ Again, DOYR and good luck with whatever you want to believe.
CityFibre wants to use BT’s Infrastructure to roll out its service to Council Sites in Southend. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/05/01/bt-to-let-rival-use-its-ducts-and-poles-in-bid-to-boost-competit/
This is ticking up slowly but surely just how i like it nice and steady
I am only interested in Wood ford, he is a class act and knows what he is doing. He has a very big reputation. whereas who is EIHumphreys. Time will tell in the end But always always DYOR
Over 6.5 million shares sold today and less than 28 thousand bought! Must be more ' Holding in Company RNS's' due shortly.
Now we know why... Clearly they knew about SKY ditching the fttp project in favour of ultrafast over copper..
SKY more comfortable with being one of BT’s wholesale partners. http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2016/04/sky-confirm-no-plans-build-uk-fibre-optic-broadband-network.html
Over 5 Million shares sold on Friday 22nd and only 41 thousand bought
