Company officials, during their Q1 results call, gave updates on different operational areas, and commented on the potential impact of an investment promotion regime in the government’s economic reform bill.
OFFSHORE
YPF partner Equinor in April began drilling exploratory well Argerich-1 offshore Buenos Aires province, work expected to continue over the next two months, the call heard.
YPF, which holds a 35% equity stake, expects an eventual production rate of 200,000b/d if oil is struck at the Argentina Norte basin license, known as CAN-100.
“It’s targeting a very big structure… we’re looking for something quite material,” YPF strategy VP Maximiliano Westen said, referring to similarities between geological formations offshore South America and those off the coast of West Africa, where discoveries have been made.
Argerich-1 would be Argentina’s first ultra-deepwater well. Exploration work was carried out in shallower waters offshore Buenos Aires, in the Colorado basin, in 1969-97, with 18 wells drilled. Oil was extracted from one during repeat formation testing.
Elsewhere on the exploration map, YPF has the environmental nod to shoot 3D seismic at CAN-102.

Just a thought19 Apr 2024 11:30
Lots of buying over last couple of weeks but price struggling to move much higher.
I wonder if someone who is going to get 8%+ of shares @ 0.00168 might have a vested interest in suppressing the price until deal signed sealed delivered etc?
P.S. I did mention a whale in the water a few days ago - could be related to above observation?

Whale in the water11 Apr 2024 19:23
Think there is a whale in the water pushing price down with minnow trades and then scooping up through trawling nets and yep big aggregate “UNKNOWN” trades appears at circa 17.00 hrs.
10% discounting of SP @ 0.00168p = SP @ 0.001512p
Ring any bells as to SP price action since announcement of recent investment.
The xxxxxxxxxxx deal would look so much better all-round if when it is signed sealed and delivered on 22/5 it was evidencing a good deal done at a premium.
Just food for thought folks.
These posts were removed possibly being a little bit too close for comfort for someone! I've deleted references to specific names for that reason.

BB17 - Exactly what I have been saying for the last few weeks.
If we are correct then wait to see what happens post 22/5!

Oh dear JohnBriggs, predictable and boring.
Maybe you should go and lie down to take a break from your misguided sleuthing, BlackBat. You must be bored.
Maybe these trades are all from same buyer dealing in 500,000 at a time to stop the share price going up?
Loads of 500,000 share trades today, all adding up to 90 million (so far) volume.
Wonder if Uraguay are going to announce approval of the Chevron deal today?
I am guessing they are at least 5 hours behind us, so any announcement would not be for a few hours yet.
Fingers crossed!

RE: Shareholders

willec to john briggs; "why are you even here? you have no shares - just do one.
it is funny how no trolls can admitt the reason why they post on this board.
for one to post and hold no shares just tells me what a pathetically sad life they lead".
willec - how do you know john briggs has no shares. you have not got a clue about his life, his investments and
GarryGraham - in the real world it’s just not natural to buy shares in a company and then attempt to talk down the SP - you are clearly an outlier on this, if what you post is expected to be believed!
I can’t be bothered to read through JohnBriggs post history but I believe he’s either told us on here that he’s sold up or that he’s never disputed it on countless occasions others have posted he sold out - he’s even responded to my Jilted John posts! He’s certainly characterised himself as a disgruntled ex shareholder.
If it’s the case he is a shareholder here but wants to give the impression he’s not then that’s rather disingenuous, ( putting it as politely as I can! ) wouldn’t you agree Garry?
GG - Absolutely no prob with folks doing, correctly, the 2 way argument- very healthy and I concur - this is a dangerous environment and not for the faint hearted. However, unlike you, who at least does attempt to give an argument - JB, despite frequent requests for elucidation and FACTS for his argument fails to so do.
If he gave some rationale to his comments fair enough. BUT HE DOES NOT, EVER!! Pure vitriole, venom, vendetta against anyone who disagrees with HIM HIM HIM.
GL to you Sir
IK.

RE: Dont afriad from trolls29 Apr 2024 17:12
GarryGraham - Surely if you are claiming to preach to the naïve investors on this high risk Oil Exploration share you wouldn’t omit the positive ramifications for the SP when the consolidation completes as mentioned by jbt! Quite frankly Garry I’m doubting more and more that you’re risking grandchildren money in this - surely if you thought you would lose shares at the rate of 50:1 without a compensatory uplift in SP you’d have sold out !
Below is one of my previous posts about timid trolls - beware particularly those that share their personal information claiming to be widow/orphan / investing in high risk AIM for grandchildren!

Timid Trolling!
25 Mar 2024 16:45
Willec - GarryGraham is an interesting case study on the Trolling spectrum - as the heading suggests he is a Timid Troll - instead of slating the company he pops up from time to time, makes some neutral/ positive comments, whinges a bit then slips in the negative comment.
I remember the pattern from the lead up to the Bahamas drill - found it difficult to believe he’d actually invested having regard to his state of anguish he’d been in then, when it failed, the buyers remorse kicked in big time!
If his posts are genuine it’s difficult to understand why someone with that attitude is prepared to go another 10 rounds with the company on a new drill venture whilst pooping their pants at each stage.
Furthermore in such a scenario why highlight negatives if you are genuinely invested - by way of example I give you fairly recent post where instead of just saying the Chevron deal is not complete until everything is agreed, including Government approval he decided to speculate that Chevron had included last minute caveats in the deal. He may be correct but why introduce that little bit of extra speculation based on zero knowledge - I could easily speculate that Chevron have done so many deals historically they have a rigorous tick box list to complete and want to see all the evidence before they even release the news they’ve done a deal because pulling out at the last moment suggests they didn’t do proper due diligence in the first place which is not great for a Super Major!
I wish all shareholders success in this venture - there’s plenty of proper trolls about - they don’t need your help!

to be completely honest it is nothing to do with you anyway. to have a difference of opinion is refreshing otherwise what is the point of having a bulletin board and before anyone calls me a " timid troll " or any other bull**** comment i have a lot of skin in the game so shut the **** up !! gg
Luthee - Thanks for the moral support (and You Willec) but I ignore that idiot. Best not to respond because that is what he lives for!
I just think of him as sad and also as a toilet attendant in a Navy prison (hence the name) - Which is why he is all at sea! Boom! Boom! or is it Bum! Bum!?
