Sold @317.5 just now. Good luck all.
Sold a 1/3 chunk yesterday, a little early, at 311.60p
Don't forget folks the SP was at 323p on 5 July
Just 10 trading day's later, on 19 July, it was at 278p
Only saying.......still 2/3 invested, so am happy either way
Pig
So did I today. Decent profit and tomorrow is dodgy....
Can someone pick up Friday club as I might not be around.....
Teetering on the brink of selling another 25%, locking in profit on the hope of a dip Decisions Decisions.
Neversellshell
Your sell surprises me
Never .don't forget we have had another dividend since then payable this Friday
Totally out 318. Happy with the profit locked in. Back maybe with a dip. Good luck all.
Congrats Mark think take a few days out and chill now it's been a rollercoaster this one. Just out of curiosity have you entertained crypto at all? I thought I never would be after the recent dip I dabbled a bit nothing big at least not big enough to care if it goes to 0. Recently bought some ether.
Well done Mark, your timing is better than mine. (311p)
But it's a profit banked that can't 'bleed away' should the SP drop
Hate repeating myself but......
"Don't forget folks the SP was at 323p on 5 July
Just 10 trading day's later, on 19 July, it was at 278p".......

Good luck Mark! Mojo, Mark hasn't coped very well at times with flux in BP ( sorry Mark!) I really don't think crypto is something that would be a good suggestion, all the best!
Remember Pig this share was 180ish last year and jumped to 300 odd in a few months! Obviously the share will have fall backs from these sudden rises!
It works both ways :)
If you’re happy with the profits there’s no harm in taking them though.
For me we’re at the start of a big Lego up, sure there might be dips to come which people can take advantage of but I’d personally be in right now than out.
Mojo: I’m almost willing the share down for you lol :) good luck! I like your honesty.
Peter, it was really some 'extra' shares i bought at the293p drop. I still have 2/3 of my core holding.
Certainly wouldn't want to be out totally....
Crypto? I got a few Coinbase for exposure.
Pig
Pig any exposure to paypal? they may end up taking away some of coinbase business now that they have crypto trading on there. No need for a complex wallet any more.
Revolut ticks a lot of boxes imo and ok for a quick crypto trade too if you upgrade for £6.99 / month
mojo,
no, i just wanted to dip my toe into the crypto world. Couldn't get my head around any of it to be fair.
So, decided to buy £1000 in a Crypto exchange in Coinbase.
Was down a bit, but now about break even having bought at float in April.
Mrs Pig say's i'm wasting my time......but you never know

Mojo Pig, Cong & all
Many thanks all. Cong, no need to apologise. I recognise what you are saying, you are right and it rings true. Probably boils down to my mistake of itoo much nvestment in one company. I sold out £800k in BP over the last week. A long story how I got to that point but now, one extreme to the other, I am fully in cash in my Sipp, Isa and Sticks and share account.
Fortunately, I have made a profit since Feb so lessons learned regarding diversification etc.
Mojo, thanks my friend for all your posts. I do agree with Cong though, Crypto is too much of a risk for me but I admire investors who take the gamble. I have monitored Btc for a few years and it scares the he'll out of me.
Pig, there is no perfect timing just luck. I have watched £10ks of profits 'bleed away' so many times since Feb. My finger was on the button a few times around 330, 320 to see it repeatedly drop back to sub 300, 290.
So, today, I locked in some profits. Going to continue to monitor and as much as I would be happy for all holders in BP in it continued climbing from here, if it happens to drop somewhere around low 300s, as the Terminator said .........
Cheers and the best of luck.

Makes sense mark wasn’t trying to convince you of buying any was just mentioning that I had taken a dip and wanted to know if you’ve ventured down that dark alley. I haven’t put much just tbh because like you I’ve seen it since 2009 and it’s movements remind me of rich or bust so only put in a minuscule amount that I can afford to lose. If it works out over 10 years tidy sum if it doesn’t then it’s less than a months salary.
Rightly or wrongly, I decided to hold.
Looking for circa 327p, but 324p would tempt.

''. I sold out £800k in BP over the last week. A long story how I got to that point but now, one extreme to the other''--------------------------So you sold 260 000 BP shares. No wonder you were concerned. £2600 per penny movement wowsers.
Well Mark,
Not sure if you've got big balls or mad.
Could you afford to use that much if it went belly up.
If so good on you. We're best mates now so pop round later...lol
Good Luck matey....

Hi Never mate
Probably summed up, in any right thinking experienced investor's mind, as ridiculous in risking so much in one company. I have not changed my view in BP. I believe in the company long term in that it 'should ' be a great investment with a loyalty payment ( dividend) in the meantime.
If BP dips adequately enough to reinvest I may be back in, if not then who knows.
On a positive note for all other BP investors, I usually read the market so wrong, so my selling may be the launch pad for the SP from here !! If it climbed from here, all holders deserve the all the rewards of holding and patience after dealing with this yoyo SP this year.
Great weekend all.

I understand people taking profits from this roller coaster especially if investing large amounts with small margins.
The risk dynamic is obviously totally different if one got in sub £2 that investor can afford to wait it out and see what happens.
I did same with x6000 at 3.17 rate..if it comes back to 2.90 then I am happy to reinvest ..let's wait
