Disclaimer...they might say no, not bloody likely...in which case we would have to revert to Plan B.
*lols* - that brought back memories
Priceless ........ if BEM can survive the great map scandal of ....2012 (?) then it can survive anything.
Didn't they also use the wrong fuel for the sno-cats? ...maybe I'm making that up.
Tally - ho n'that, eh?
Cheers
JT
Mr Damberg did make a statement (sort of) I think at a press interview so off the cuff....early in 2015 that the Kallak decision would be made before the summer recess...which gave rise to the long standing joke about the holidays being the pivot about which everything revolves. They obviously decided then not to decide...but that doesn't mean they never will decide, which is an absurd thing to say.
Thank you for overstating my status here.
Never a crusader, merely an observer and commentator...
We have all read that before, Ed. And it is meaningless.
1. This has been true for over 3 years.
2. Kurt has been saying this for all of that time, without effect.
3. The government remain implacable and unresponsive.
Until it is the government speaking meaningfully about a deadline which they commit to keeping to, without any further twists and turns, which neither add nor subtract from their longstanding ability to announce a decision, then the company’s pronouncements are just noise.
Neither positive or negative in your terminology, just noise.
I remember the days when you first bought in Ibjj , you used to boast continually of having a very low average, 15p of which I was most envious, my first buy was at 22p. Never mind, it takes all sorts to make a world, I'm just different from you and I don't understand your crusade here, I suppose that's what it is, a crusade...but it keeps us amused while we wait.
Still, at least we're prioritised. Gotta feel sorry for the poor sods who aren't.....
Hi Eric
After my little mix up regarding positive info this piece from Kurt might help cheer up those who have not read it.
Quote : As we seem to be approaching the final decision on Kallak we are doing everything we can to make sure that the facts of our case are understood and if they are there should be no impediment to the award of the concession.
Common sense would dictate that if you allow a company to invest SEK 77 million in Sweden in a quality iron ore project such as Kallak, and a community such as Jokkmok, with it's significant economical challenges, and you have the mining Inspectorate's recommendation that the concession be awarded then all of the boxes have been ticked.
Nice one Kurt.
Lol.
Good morning,
You do continue to lift my eyebrows to unprecedented heights...
“we got a result” and “we’ve done brilliantly”.
Priceless....
My own feelings are that we've done brilliantly...feel as though I've been carrying those drill cores myself but I'm proud of the company and the 61% Swedish shareholders. GLA
Of war are what we're talking about and this is AIM. We've been calling the 23 April 13 our birthday but it isn't is it, it's our official birthday. Some of us were here in the days of the first drilling....extreme weather, reindeer migration, wrong maps, sabotage... all played their part in the story. Then the iron price collapsed, because that was the engine for the rise in the sp. But after all we got a result, the most important part, an iron resource and all that before we embarked on the permitting process. CSP quote: " I never said it would be easy."
Bit early to be drinking, John.
SP hasn’t moved?
On the subject of the SP, I would like people to consider this:
Exactly 8, yes 8 years ago, before Finland and before Kosovo, with CSP at the tiller, drilling suspended due to an administrative cock up by the company, and before even the mining license application was submitted, the SP was double what it is today.
Even if you add a very modest 2% annual inflation to the then price, it would equate to 17p, coincidentally the price it reached before the still unexplained flash crash - another lack of action from BEM.
And Kurt talks about adding shareholder value....
Nice little tweak to the start of the day.Let's hope it continues. At least it is in the right direction.
No need for you to buy a parrot to tell you that ed,we already have one here to do that. Step forward lbjj and he does that for free !
Guess they're still full of Easter eggs Tintin.
still...nope.
Hi ed, I've been pondering wether to add a few more here as the expectation grows with the view to unloading them before the announcement, that's if they give us prior warning in the government's forthcoming business diary.
The spread always puts a downer on it and atm there is ceiling on the SP. If there's any substance in that letter I feel that could be broken before a government response.
I have reduced my holding here over time from just under one million down to 338,244 shares (not quite in your league) however present average is 3.79p, so showing a modest profit of c £9k.
Well that's the book value in one of my ISA accounts, they have been there for years and were at a lower average at one stage, under 2 pence if I remember. But I've took profit while reducing my holding so they don't owe me anything.
I have two ISA's and a nominee account
It's been so long I can't be arsed to do the maths.
But I'm taking a bit more interest in BEM of late and like you feel this has been going on long enough.
That's my position, but now it's definitely time to move on providing its not delayed anymore lol.
GLA whatever you decide.
Hi Eric
I just re-read the source of my info and you are quite right. I just saw the "decision before the summer" and got over excited. I should have read it all. I'll buy a parrot and teach him to say "Edward's a silly boy"
I hope all's well with you.

Kurt obviously feels it could be excellent, or he wouldn't be funding Vardar's program. To have invested £1.25 mill to date is a substantial amount for a side project, which we now still have only slightly over a third of. So it must be showing great promise. Not many of us have warmed to it, myself included, but such diversification will not have been actioned on a whim. All in my humble. Right. Signing off now 'til Friday. Lol. Good luck all.
Hi Ed. The Swe Gov hasn't promised to give us a decision before summer, Kurt has just said that it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect one before then. He must have had positive indications, but no date has been mentioned as such. So a bit of leeway is already built in by the very nature of the wording in that RNS. In my opinion. Hence, should the 21 June (beginning of summer) arrive without a decision, I trust you won't throw an immediate wobbler. I also trust that Kurt will release another RNS update on or around that time, if the Swe Gov is still dawdling, i.e. the reason for that. Atb.
G'day Mite (Seeing as you referred to New Zealand I've lapsed into Aussie speak) ;-)
A good post from you, nice to see some positive views for a change.
The Swedes finally accepted the fact that the delays thrown at us caused this thing to drag on for 6 years without good reason. We received an apology for the delays and they promised to put our application at the top of the list and complete the application "before the summer". The first time that we've had a deadline date.
It can't get much more positive than that. I feel confident that we will get the award this time around. However, if it does fall through for whatever reason, I will be selling our holdings in BEM. Enough is enough. I'm just coming up to my 75th birthday and it's time to start having fun spending our hard earned cash and giving lumps of it to our daughters and grandchildren.

Whilst the majority of lbjj post is undeniably true (yes here comes the but)....but whether Kosovo is an ill judged adventure remains to be seen. Someone/somebody has seen an opportunity here but as we all know BEM is all about Kallak.
We can't wait indefinitely for this license, life investment and opportunities present themselves and rightly or wrongly are taken up.
Obviously there can be no actual physical work (drilling etc) while we await this decision so BEM must be seen to progress as a company.
It must be said that since these latest placings the share price has recovered extremely well no doubt due to the subsequent government contact, and yet again a forthcoming decision from them.
Lastly, if you were in New Zealand 30+ years ago you would have welcomed the reduction to the many biker gangs roaming around at that time.
Just saying.
lbjj... I'm quite impressed with the SP to be honest. I was expecting it to have fallen lower and lower without any positive news but it has remained largely unchanged. I'm sure a lot of people have lost a lot of money on the markets over the last year who would wish they had it invested in the relative safety of Beowulf. Its not all doom and gloom! Onwards and upwards... Although I agree that Kosovo is crap.
NZ much better than Yorkshire then? I wouldn't want to miss an English spring or a long, balmy summer night.
