I wouldn't worry too much about the SAMI. They've shot their bolt and now have no grounds for complaint.
Kurt had a planned route east to ship the ore to Finland as they have a port that doesn't freeze up over the winter. The SAMI complained that up would cause problems during their reindeer migrations, which take for a few weeks twice a year.
Kurt is a shrewd fellow and he changed the route to the port of Lulea on the west coast. I does freeze over in winter but they have four ice breakers working through the winter to keep the port open, so no problem there.
The environmentle study completed by BEM proved that there would be no issues relating to BEM's ore removal and shipment. The SAMI realised that they have lost the battle and since then they've been well behaved.
And SJ. Very glad tidings today if we can continue to believe we'll get the right decision...seems a bit dreamlike getting a response from the government and I don't care who it was because the man in charge is still the man in charge if you know what I mean. Interesting comment from Kurt about all correspondence being in the public domain. About the B thing, Eric it's nearly broken my heart....glad that nice Mr Tusk understands.
I don't think I'm too well really, terribly frustrated and exhausted with both this and the other B thing, but Sooz helps to keep me going. Yep, good approach that I reckon, just checking things when there's an RNS. Until today that is! Lol. Looks like our little ball is finally rolling again SJ, so there could be a few shareholders, like your good self, coming out of their slumber now and perhaps even back to posting, for hopefully the better times ahead. That would be great. Dare we talk of drilling? What actually is it? Lol. Good to hear from you. Sending you an e-man hug. Cheers SJ.
Hope you are well. I ignore it mostly now and keep my fingers crossed. Check in when an RNS is released. Still reckon it's only a matter of time. Final days now? lol. It will be like the old days again soon!
Afty SJ. Hope you are not yet too wizened, or mentally defunct with this. Lol.
Yay. Good to hear from you, you old sausage!
I'm here matey. Just watching. Good update today, even though I would have preferred a name, as in, if, for example; it was Mr Baylan who had been in contact with us (perhaps following receipt of Göran's letter), then why not tell us! Me loikey specifics me 'andsome, not generalisations see. Lol. But it sounds promising. Just have to work out when summer is now, lol, but news on the concession could obviously come any time from today! Up 'til summer. Chillin' again now. Cheers Mad.
Few months to come then. Potential decision on Kallak, drilling aitolampi and drilling in Kosovo, of which they do come across as very excited about.
This could be our year. (He says for the sixth time)
we can guarantee an objection following the licence award - however, if I remember correctly, the Government tend to deal with these swiftly - basically, if the objector's comments had been taken on board then it is dismissed - it's not a re-run.
So it looks like the Government has finally accepted that the 'process' (if it can be called that) must move on. The term 'before the summer' is a very interesting term (in Scandinavian cultural terms) - hopefully they are talking about Summer 2019 and not something else (hard to tell sometimes).
My main concern , as other eluded too, is how does this progress 'post government decision'?
From the company point of view if we get the go ahead I suspect it will be thank you very much and we move on! If it's a Yes then do the Sami need to find 'reasonable grounds' to object i.e. some material fact that wasn't taken into account? or is it a simple 'we don't like it' so we sat NO!!!
If the decision is a No then what are the mechanisms for the Company firstly to object to the decision i.e. where has our application fallen materially short? (a reasonable justification by the government) and secondly if we can't appeal the decision then - Given the Government 'breakdown in DUE process' how can we get our money back and other compensations for 'loss of opportunity costs' i.e the other projects we could have been advancing instead of wasting our time with the Swedes!
All views and comments are welcome because I really don't have a clue how this is going to progress at the moment other than sometime looks like it's going happen in the next few months.
Yes you are probably right there Tintin.. best to set targets and stick to them IMO.
De-risk at 15-20p and hold for news is my aim.
Looks like they have just pushed up to 0.091 SEK - GBP 7.4p
I would say just over 20p on news (but it may depends on how this rises prior to that)
After many years it is finally upon us.
GLA - summertime begins 21st June.
Share price predictions on news of concession granted ??
18p first stop.. IMO
Avid follower, but infrequent poster, long term holder here.
Hope the 'reasonable' doesn't mean that we continue to wait hopefully for much longer. Good to see some progress on price but well below the best price in the last couple of years with the money raising taking place. I have a while to go before breakeven point.
The Kosovo investment is also looking promising and together with Finland we could be in for a good time. Hopefully their time scales will be shorter than in Sweden!!
But welcome news that we have had a response from government at last. Merely an acknowledgment but Kurt wouldn't have suggested a timescale without being given an indication of priority, albeit that word could mean a number of things in Swedish. The numbing of investor feelings may inhibit the size of response but welcome nevertheless.
morning suzy were is eric
16.61 up on h/l
Morning Maddog.....:-)
that chill pill must of had some good stuff in it you must of took a pile"?
Gets a rapid response. :-) ;-)
Taken from the RNS......
''The Company expects, and it is reasonable to do so, that a decision will be taken, by the Government, before the summer.''
Well, summer eh, well it might be reasonable but it looks to me like they forgot to insert the year.
,
All joking aside this can be construed as progress, I believe this is the first time any communication between BEM and the government (at least this new government) has been acknowledged.
One thing for sure is whatever the outcome of any decision is that there will be a court case.
If the concession is delayed or rejected it will be or should be BEM.
If the concession is granted the Sami will object and mount their own case.
There's a message in that last sentence, if its granted start taking your profits early and if you want more punishment re-invest when reality dawns of a long protracted appeal.
Positive response anyway, GLA.
over there - none of these 10 quid jobs they seem to specialise in....
Although long long overdue, this is a welcome first step, but no more.
We have been here before. It is over two years since Asa at the MI said she could extract a decision “ in weeks rather than months “
Cue Sami weeping and wailing.
