The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
A most interesting RNS with several meanings. Do BEM know the date of the hearing or even have an inkling as to the result?
To take such a step as this before the result is announced is indeed a huge one. Perhaps two scenarios here. Our new man at Kallak has to serve three months notice in his current post but then why not announce his name? Or he will only accept the post and his name announced when the decision is a positive one in BEM's favour, in which case BEM must know when or approx. as to when the decision will be announced or even know of the result already.I am sure there is more going on here than they are telling.
On the positive side they must be confident of the decision being made in the goverment's favour to take such a step.
Interesting me thinks.
Agreed SJ. A very professional presentation which hopefully will instill confidence in potential investors.
Although Ed appeared to get off to a slow start, he does seem to be making up for lost time with his communication skills
and following the goverment 's comments earlier in support of Kallak (national interest etc.) hopefully would make it difficult now for any court in Sweden to give it the thumbs down. No doubt part of the plan.
It would be great if somehow BEM can hang on for the court decision before the next fund raise.Fingers crossed.gla.
Suzy, I agree with you 1000% but only if you have the finance to do it. Is there a bigger plan in the market to force us into going bankrupt and then the big boys swoop and pick us up for peanuts? I sincerely hope not, I have far too much invested.
Happy New Year to you, let us hope for a better one.atb.
Sounds like a big job at Jokkmokk that will command a big salary. 2 Ceos then in a small exploriatory mining company?
Smacks of gravy train. imho.
Re. BEM Christmas message. I see they wish EVERYONE a merry Christmas Eric. No specific reference to their shareholders. Just about says it all really.lol
Thanks for the info Andy. Is the extension designed to give them time to sober up after the New Year holiday?
Hello Suzy. Yes, I will drink to that.. It will be nice to be able to get on with the rest of our lives
Quite correct Suzy but the Sami are and they are our problem. Atb.
I am afraid the only thing to discuss at the moment is the same old chestnut. I cannot see any more news coming this year simply because I cannot see anything worth reporting. A decision early in the New Year I think is being optimistic as we still have until early next month to add anything to our case and then it will be the usual"Swedish mull it over process" for a few more months before a decision is given, but who knows.
On the plus side, I fail to see how the decision can go against BEM. The land does not belong to the Sami so what right do they have. It is all based on tradition and we know how that can change. BEM often refers to staying in contact with stakeholders. Are they individuals who own parcels of that land? If so that makes the Sami trespassers in the eyes of the law. Couple this with the pressure the EU seem to be applying and a pro mining government plus a change in attitude from the Greens as to what now constitutes green. I would say there is much in our favour long term.
BEM also seem to be holding steady on the cash burn hopefully with the idea of avoiding a fund raise until after the decision which if favourable will undoubtably help the share price and maybe even enable a loan.
Yes, it will all take more time but we are used to that but I do think there is a lot that could go our way in the not too distant future. IMHO of course!
Agreed Eric. A big improvement on the previous effort and maybe that had something to do with the content being more positive. As Roller 1 pointed out though, it is a pity we have to stumble on this material rather that it being emailed out on the BEM link. I feel he would then show a little more respect for his shareholders. I guess we can't have it all but a definite improvement. Have a good weekend all and let's forward to some little increases in the share price next week.lol.
Um aah, um aah um aah? Roller I think you could be right, but he definitely shaved for the interview.
Welcome back Oaktree and thank you for such brilliant positive sharing..I am sure when potential investors read your posts they will come flocking to invest in BEM.
Keep up the good work.
So the share price has risen despite posters on this board doing their damnedest to destroy it. Keep trying folks. atb.
I think Suzy you may mean 44 points not percent.Given what is going on in the world the ftse seems to be very resilient. It is is BEM taking the caning. Sadly the best investments at the moment is probably in the arms industry.gla.
Agreed Pocko..
Best RNS for some time. Long way to go but more like this one will certainly restore some confidence.
Thank you Suzy. Like you, I am in for the long haul and if other family members reap the benefit sobeit. We have been here before and a lot lower too and once we have jumped through the next two hoops , I am sure will things will start to gather pace. ATB.
PS Please keep posting.I enjoy your sanity and frankness.
Thanks Andy. How good to read something positive on this board for a change.
I am sure the negativity has not helped our share price of late. If I was a potential investor reading these boards, I would not go anywhere BEM at the moment.gla.
Hard to believe that two RNS' within a day of one another could have come from the same company.
Does this translate to Kallak being sold off asap and funds used to develop Finland as a long term and very lucrative project? Watch this space.
Maybe everything has been put on hold for a rear until we have the enviromental permit in order to avoid another fund raise at these ridiculous prices.
Just a thought!
Nice one Roller. You have hit the nail; on the head, The truth of the matter is, we are all totally p*ssed off but we are dressing it up as patience just to give ourselves a little bit of a "feel good factor". Lol.
There was a comment about "the court ruling in our favour."Surely we are not involved in this one? We are very much the subject matter , yes, but the case is very much between the Sami and the Swedish government who it is alleged have acted illegally in granting us the exploitation licence. I am sure the government will have covered its ground very thoroughly and was therefore considered at the time as another stalling tactic on behalf of the Sami. We must hope therefore that the ruling will be in favour of the government.
I remember years ago, long before the old King died that CSP published a map showing all the proposed new mining ares in the north of Sweden and the year they were expected to be developed. I distinctly remember Kallak being listed for 2030 which I thought was ridiculous at the time but if the goings on continue at the present pace, it will probably be spot on.
It really is not difficult to understand why the share price is where it is at the moment. If we jump the next two hurdles i.e. the Sami issue and the enviromental licence then the price will be on a different planet but I guess investors see better opportunities than this one for the next couple of years. What did Mr.Williams say????
