So, just my thoughts on many potentials !
Not sure if anyone has thought of this, but ! With every country in the world closing its borders in an attempt to stop the spread, the AIRLINE INDUSTRY has been devestated. If this test will give results in minutes, would you not think airlines would impose these tests before you board a flight ?
If this was mandatory to do, how many tests would be needed daily around the world ?
I hope i`m not ramping, and not meaning to, but its frietening to think it could be mandatory with all aviation authoritys !!!!
Could Avacta make enough ????????
Airlines are the tip of the iceberg
Add schools, stadiums, restaurants bars, personal use to visit family the list goes
On and on
Anybody who thinks that people going into stadiums will all be tested is dreaming .I can just see it now .20000 west ham fans , tanked up on a Saturday afternoon being lined up in an orderly queue to be antigen tested .lol . The antigen tests will be a success if they get approved I'm sure .But large stadium testing wether indoor or outdoor wouldnt be viable and would take much too long . Large scale antigen testing is perhaps the way forward in many areas ( airports would be a lucrative outlet ) but stadiums ?? I sincerely doubt it .
Will the pubs be open?
I dont know , but I suspect the supermarkets and off licences might be ?
Id say its likely all carers, nurses, Dr's would be tested daily. What is the size of that market alone?
I’d pop dentistry at the top of the high risk list given they spend all day in people’s mouths. I’m sure they’d be pretty keen to know if their patients have it.
Yes, dentistry for sure. All patients checking in to hospital also.
Schools would be another. Possibly weekly
All nhs staff in order of priority are already being tested by PCR. We had an email only on Friday saying this is being rolled out together for all staff plus anybody testing to determine who has been exposed to Covid. The microbiology labs are already doing this, so I very much doubt will use this technology
However, they could use it for urgent admissions into hospital as they are brought into A/E etc. Routine patients would have swabs taken for PCR testing etc
Of course NHS will switch to POC LFT rather than pcr which is too slow.
My gran just checked in to hospital following a fall. First thing they did was test her for covid. The market will be huge..
36,000 dentists per day needing tests, 5 tests per week for a year = 10m ish
https://www.statista.com/statistics/318885/numbers-of-dental-practitioners-in-the-uk/
There’s more than a good few million visiting each year:

We’ve got hospitals covered with BAMS, no worries there.
Visit to GP?
Not every hospital will have BAMS?
I’ve got
12 chefs
8 cleaners
40 barmaids/waitresses
That will need it regularly
Times that by 40,000 hotels in the Westcountry
So, UK alone, highly likely:
Dentistry
Offshore oil workers
Schools
Airlines
Visits To GP
Hospital admissions
How many tests are we looking at from the above?

Passengers on the Eurostar and ferries? Also, anyone on classroom courses, flying lessons and yachts? Long train journeys?
Think you have overlooked the biggest, every office and factory worker once/week
4.7 billion air passengers, 27m cruises with multi stops, 20m channel tunnel, 11m Eurostar, 19m channel ferries
So the general consensus is that this test will save the world and make us all rich? as I'm sure you are all aware, I'm not prone to hyperbole but just wanted to check that we may well have all found "the sp increase share of this decade? " shall I crack open some champagne now or wait until Sir Al makes an official announcement next week prior to Thursdays presentation?
Great to see the positivity is back after last week! If I was a recent shareholder the doom mongers would have scared the living daylights out of me when the so dropped like it did.
Onwards and upward from here :)
COViD is over? This is a lifestyle share? AS is corrupt? Boohoo are taking us for a ride? Raising cash to keep the lights on?
So glad to see the derampers gone. Hopefully there’s an AGM soon we can all head to and enjoy a well deserved pint.
Enjoy the weekend all, see you Monday!
Prediction:
End 20 - £1-2bn (higher subject to test revenue.)
Mid 21 - Bought for 2-3bn ( again higher subject to test revenue)

I’m a holder here but you’re all sounding a bit crazy to suggest every passenger on a plane will be tested or a dentist 5 times a week. Yes I’m sure these tests will be used but much more realistic use is aircrew (not passengers) get a test and dentists/GPs maybe weekly. Airlines won’t pay for the test, PPE will be the barrier, and to test professions daily will never be used. There will be huge demand regardless but there are some people living in a dream world. Let’s speak about a £100billion market cap at the same time! I’ve got great faith in Avacta and if it’s successful I, like many others, will profit well. Let’s keep our expectations realistic though.
Ever heard of superspreaders? I ain’t getting on no untested plane fool! I wouldn’t be too impressed with an untested dentist getting all up in my grill either, a small price to pay for a dentist. I agree airlines won’t pay, but I could imagine a testing surcharge. Time will tell... a lot depends on the success of the initial mass screening - that’ll be a LOT of tests btw.
