MrAdventurous - good idea, I've sent a (several) question to them
On your website you have a 'contact us' page, labelled as "This form / email address is for commercial/business enquiries only". Having sent a genuine business enquiry re. the LFT for up to 10000 units last week I have yet to receive an acknowledgement. Is there a technical reason behind this (and why an automated thank you for your enquiry reply hasn't been setup), does the volume of enquiries mean they cannot be replied to - in which case this should be stated on the contact form and via autoreply, or are they ignored due to ongoing contract discussions, in which case again this should be communicated to prevent frustration.
We wont be stung, I spoke to a chap called Andy just now, I asked if he can tell me the Saliva test CT Test range to compare S&S, which he couldn't and would need to email me separately, he could provide the basic S&S data, but not comparing to CT.
Without me mentioning avacta or anything else, I was only talking about his test, he mentions that Avacta test will be available shortly. So to me, this saliva test is a placeholder for the Avacta LFT test. There is a commercial deal still active with Avacta and that this will be available shortly.
So, Medusa is on side and friendly forces- Box ticked!
Wyn - you know that the saliva test is not being sold at present.
JDRC, we don't get an email to your business one, but once you fill the form in, it does thank you for the enquiry which is some form of feedback it has been received.
My gut feeling is, that the distros will handle this type of thing for Avacta once we go live.
Wyn, i think the saliva test is someone elses that Medusa is selling or their own developed test. I personally think Avacta dropped it in favour of AN. . but as i said, be good to get this confirmed in the presso.
that's why I get confused, websites claiming its for sale in 2 languages with stock of 2m...with details on their website ramping up to 50m per month.
Why would be that on their website still when they can't sell it, and probably now with saliva being off the radar will never sell it? That's why I asked.
Almost nothing adds up with timelines and suppliers and TT's and always we have to dig around and sift through conflicting info to try and guess whats actually taking place.
But genuinely thanks to all for the replies.
@Neutronic
Was only joking about the Jellyfish sting :-)
Will be interesting to see if he gets back to you.
Medusa-19 Rapid Saliva Protein Test (RSPT) v2-1
It detects whether you have antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 that are present in the saliva - so nothing to do with AVCT . Does not detect whether you might be infected or not .

Ok Neut, thanks, so here's the follow up: Why, given our test was approve a fortnignt on Monday, Isn't it on the Medusa website now? If they can manufacture, then they have the best test in the world with exclusive rights?
Hopefully all will be revealed or explained on Monday. Big day for sure.
Glad you finally caught up @wyn. Medusa protein test was GCSE level research.
"Why, given our test was approved a fortnignt on Monday, Isn't it on the Medusa website now?"
That's the six billion dollar question.
I would say there's a rather large possibility that the initial production stock is already spoken for.
THE SALIVA TEST ON MEDUSA WEBSITE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AVACTA ITS AN ANTIBODY TEST!!!!
And Medusa only have exclusive rights for direct to consumer market distribution. Why, when capacity is constrained would they give any of that capacity to Medusa to sell tests to a market where the only route into it is via the govt who are giving LFTs for free (albeit rubbish ones).
It’s pretty simple. There are bigger leads to go after for the current limited capacity. Medusa d2c pointless right now. Unless - behind the scenes AS is enticing them into doing some manufacturing.
well Scardey, it took me a while but at least my confusion has been supported by your reference to "That's the six billion dollar question." I just thought I was missing something really, really, obvious but couldn't figure out if it was just me or it was a bit of a mystery.
The only nagging thought it is why Medusa don't advertise it but just say "currently sold out"? Then we are back to Govt NDA's I guess ….which we don't know even exist, and then there's Innova and and and and and.... it really does do my Noggin in.
I just didn't expect it to be this complicated. Develop a test, verify it, sell it..... There's a lesson here somewhere....
Scaredycat - the agreement between Avacta and Medusa is for home use direct to consumer. Avacta’s test is only approved for professional use at this stage. This is why it isn’t currently for sale on the Medusa site
@Sparta
Medusa ARE allowed to sell AffiDX for professional use.
The exclusivity, as you say, only applies to D2C.
Yes Sparta.. Of Course! (Yeah that was dumb of me... forgot the home use bit...Duh)
20th May 2020 RNS - Distribution Agreement for COVID-19 Antigen Test
[The Group has agreed an exclusive distribution agreement with Medusa19 for the supply of the COVID-19 rapid test direct to consumers globally, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals. Medusa19 has been established by Richard Hughes and Mahmud Kamani, both founder shareholders of Boohoo.com and shareholders of Avacta1, to build a global consumer self-testing business. Medusa19's initial focus will be on COVID-19 home testing and it is currently investing in global e-commerce, logistics and customer support infrastructure in preparation for Avacta's COVID-19 test launch. Medusa19 will also have non-exclusive rights to supply the tests to businesses for workforce testing. The distribution agreement includes a profit-sharing arrangement.]
Of particular note:
“Medusa19 will also have non-exclusive rights to supply the tests to businesses for workforce testing.”
Unless Avacta get home use approval for their test then any orders are pretty much pointless, it is absolutely CRITICAL to the future of this company they get home use for this test. This is the vehicle that pays for all the cancer stuff, it’s as simple as that.
