The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I have had the gamma knife radio surgery myself at Sheffield Tony twice on both brain & spine tumours, unfortunately it didn’t work either time and I ended up having surgery in Hull, I’ve visited Castle Hill a few times for scans, the cancer centre there is highly recommended. Good luck with your diagnosis and future challenges.
Thanks Bella, I’m hopeful this change can be turned round quickly and the modifications can be made to I assume the millions already made and the CE/TT, even desktop review can be tweaked as probably all are 80% the same as previous…..but I’m only assuming because they aren’t communicating to long suffering SH’s.
Thanks for clearing everything up by referring to that clear RNS, but I’m thick so could you just remind me
Have Avacta already made several million tests?
Can these tests be retro fitted?
Does the modified test need to go through PD and the CE marking?
How long will that take if yes?
Will the completed mid dec TT to Abingdon need to be done again?
Will TT be started from scratch with companies such as Medusa?
How long will that take?
Who is manufacturing for the EU, assuming Avacta get home use there again?
Surescreen said their desktop review took 6 months, will Avacta’s be restarted with the new tests and expect to take 6 months?
I know, it’s all in the RNS
Just watching the news now and they have a reporter in a warehouse with millions of the Surescreen tests, boxed and ready to go, basically where we all hoped Avacta where at. Are their lateral flow device going to be assessed properly against Omnicron, it says they have HUA and it took 6 months but will they need to re assess.
Supposing Avacta have millions in boxes, are they now to be binned like the Innova should be or can they be reworked, seems doubtful having seen the machines in action putting the strips together.
AS should be letting SH know what work needs to be done and how long it’s going to take, tho his previous form on timelines isn’t great. On past form I think we are looking at another year to get them CEmarked again, get TT then have this 20 day 6 months desktop review completed.
More questions than answers, feels like BJ is at the wheel atm tbh
Yes disgraceful behaviour by AS, being transplanted, immunosuppressed and diabetic I bought these tests on his word that they picked up all variants so that my loved ones could safely enter my house, he now tells me that was a lie, and my life was put at risk several time. My sons girlfriend’s parents and siblings contracted it but I let her enter my house several times after taking an Avacta test. My brother died in two weeks after getting covid and so will I having the exact same health problems. AS may have cost people a lot of money, but he may well have blood on his hands as well, thankfully not mine so far.
Sadly reading those comments it looks like public opinion is to stop testing altogether, disgraceful, government have brain washed the masses into seeing the old and vulnerable as collateral damage now it seems. Torrid will be rubbing their hands, saving on the pension deficit and NHS as people are essentially culled.
I’d be pleased if they announced they were selling even 1m/month pro or home in the UK, US or EU, the continued silence damages the SP, unless of course they have sold absolutely nothing but a few packs of 25 to me and a few other PI’s.
I think it might get a mention on ‘mid morning matters’ on North Norfolk Digital, not sure how widely read the Norwich broadsheets are tbh
However I think it’s critical we get this desktop review passed as it may kick start some EU action if Avacta’s own government acknowledges their test is fit for purpose
It doesn’t seem credible does it that we are now approved for home use in 27 EU countries but not one of them want to use the most accurate test in the world. I can only assume they are an absolute mile out on price, dont have anyone to make them or have the same sales and marketing team as here in the UK, it’s very strange.
It says in that text that Avacta have not been granted professional use in the UK, that’s not correct is it, any business can buy from Bioserve, I have been using them myself. Whilst I’m all for the aggressive promotion of the test and the highlighting of the desktop review having taken since August it’s not good form to put blatant lies in any article.
Someone said that Avacta & Medusa shouldn’t be bad mouthing the Innova tests or government, I agree but what they should be doing is promoting the Meduflow test, the fact it’s 99% correct and easier to use, the fact Medusa can manufacture 30m a month and others such as ABDX can add to that total, this should be marketed in readiness for sales, surely if the media and public knew of this scandal they can make their own minds up how it compares with 60% wrong brain tickler that’s been waived thru all approval processes, it’s clear there is corruption going on.
If they miss this enormous open goal yet again they need serious help, record high covid infections, 25k health workers off, the mayor of London and the PM on the TV telling everyone to test before going out tonight then test again tomorrow. Yet there’s a mass shortage of tests, surely the Boohoo boys have made millions of these ready to go, they should be on the news telling the public about this scandal, a solution on our own shores right now, and these tw@Rd are sat waiting on Chinese tests that don’t improve the situation one iota.
Sent bbc and Starmer an email, don’t expect either to do anything about it tbh
Medusa really need to go on the offensive, they will be hoping to sell hundreds of millions of these next year, everything to gain by garnering public support.
My worry is, we can sell for home use in the EU now, but no orders there is it the price, I bought 25 and they come in between £9-10, a massive uplift from free, not for me as it’s life saving, but for 99.9% it’s just ‘pass go’ thing and if the free one gets them to work they’ll take it. The ‘governments’ should ban them but let’s face it they ain’t stopping that gravy train.
I got 25 before xmas but with VAT and delivery it comes to around £10 a test, I really hoe if they start making them by the multi million (hopefully 100m per month) then the price can be nearer £5 as even tho for someone vulnerable like myself paying the extra isn’t an issue to most of the world who recover even if they get it, spending so much just isn’t realistic. For example we had a meal and it cost me £50, well worth it to me as my life is over if I get it but not sure most will go for that.
On another note reading through Facebook yesterday I counted 67 people who currently had Covid, it’s gone way out of control.
I mailed Medusa19 yesterday and they have replied, not new news but official, from the horse’s mouth so to speak
Thanks for your email.
In the UK we require CTDA registration to sell home use lateral flow kits.
Updates will be announced in due course and when this will be available.
Kind Regards
Medusa Team
Yea a the CTDA a government body, if so we could be looking at another ridiculously long wait, they ain’t going to do anything to hurt the hand that feeds them (Chinese tests & vaccines)
I do hope if they are going to make 100m a month that can reduce the price somewhat, I bought 25 from bio serve to stay safe over xmas but a meal at my sister in laws (my brother died from covid in October) cost me £40 with giving the other guests a test before going. A small price to pay for my safety I know but 99% of people don’t live in fear of catching the virus and won’t want to be spending £10 when they have become used to getting them for nothing.
I posted it on here as well in the Medusa thread
But more people that see and understand it the better as someone on ABDX board claiming that Medusa don’t even manufacture
I first seen that on here back in September 2020 anyway, here or the telegraph group I left.
