We have had 6 MMs sat on the bid at 95 most of the afternoon looking to take stock at that level. One MM at 96 bid. 4% spread showing we are down much of the day, MM dropping bids on little volume. A more sensible UT at 101.
2 of my buys marked as sells this am.
We know DE2 RNS should be only days away subject to SDMC green light. AS couldn't have been clearer about the next step here is DE2 as per AGM comments. DE2 = more boxes being ticked, closer to final readout and value plays out one way or another.
Days away is maybe a bit optimistic. An AS "shortly" is not normally as short as the average punter would think...
Timster - He said Q3 which starts in a few days so it could be anytime from then onwards is my point.
Well I think there are some alternatives.
The first one is good news for the worriers here because this surely proves beyond any doubt that nothing posted here affects the SP. (We have had 2/3 days of well reasoned thought so as to show that it still looks very promising.)
Or maybe the MM's don't share the or care about the logic of the dot joining here.
Or so few read this BB that it does not affect the SP.
Its hard to draw the conclusion that it is deliberately being held down as surely the demand to get in at these very low levels would have to push the price up, yet volume was low.
The other possibility is that the current SP is correct inasmuch its the best the market can do to match the 2 opposing outcomes. (if successful the SP shoots up but if it fails the SP collapses).
Bottom line? The short term SP movement is irrelevant imo, other than for those watching it hour by hour, minute by minute. That's just a great way to psych yourself out - or allow others to do it for you.
Ah Pj, there's a can or worms.... What do you mean by short term? 2 years ago on the 15th of June the SP was 101p.
since then it has been between 41p and 273p.
There is more than one way to skin a cat....
"hour by hour, minute by minute." How much shorter d'you want?!
Point made perfectly by the appearance of wynbore
PJ, who says anyone was watching min by min? its been low volume.
My point was that many will have sat on their hands for years and may be no better off then when they started, whereas others who may have paid more attention to short term fluctuations may have done better.
If I misinterpreted your point then I apologise
Tim, your paranoia is a thing to behold. If its a view that you don't agree with its a paid troll deramper designed only to force the SP down. And if there are no trolls on the BB then its the MM manipulating the price downwards....
By way of a more serious answer, Wyn, the only timeline that is of interest to me is the next company RNS / news. The interim SP moves are irrelevant.
I just find you very boring wybore, never have I claimed the MMS manipulate other thank taking the pi55, but you know that.
It is odd though that big pharma or their agents and funds aren’t buying in big at such apparently low SP. And why aren’t the Avacta directors mopping up thousands of shares?
Because there's share option schemes.
Thanks Hants
The more pertinent question is why haven’t Institutional investors been selling…. Even in the 40s. No TR1s.
IIs who are already in won’t just load a share up to the hilt. They’ll have set levels for what percentage of a portfolio a share can make up. But the fact that as the SP dropped they’ve remained as they are says a lot. So this stupid bash of the week about IIs not buying or directors (who have millions of options and will get rewarded for hitting milestones) falls flat on it’s face.
Yes he often gets the urge to bash at about midnight our Derek
It’s far more tax efficient for a director to fund the ‘ tax ‘ benefit on an Option than to pay tax at source then buy in the market, they can gear up / arbitrage their cash and same time enjoy the discount to market price as part of their remuneration and depending on the approved HMRC scheme and size of their eventual capital gain - first £1M taxed at 10% as classed as a business asset - minimise their overall tax bill on disposal
Alister has £millions in options, suggest him/ directors buying in the market is not relevant, he’s been buying via funding his tax liability via his option package
