Nice one Mucksy. 3hrs ago.

Good find mucksy.
Also i noticed on LinkedIn in that Paolo-dellachà ceo of denora liked it
Looks like Rolec are still very much on board with this adventure. Maybe everything is starting to come together nicely for some imminent news on hard sales.
I do wonder if it's the feedstock holding up the deals.
It's a lot cheaper to run on cracked ammonia than bottled hydrogen so, are we still waiting on cracker technology?
He also used a similar throw away comment regarding containerisation
Hi BB. Yes I remember that but, it's been quite of late and, they have used the bottled variety of H2 throughout the roadshows.
The tie up with HIIROC would suggest they like what they see.
Thanks Mucksy!
All those posts yesterday about ROLEC, I said they had to still be in!
Now can they get the EV Charger on their website?, or are AFC already too overwhelmed with potential orders, that Polar have been asked to hold off for a bit, to give AFC time to 'consolidate'?
AFC must be confident with the recent investment nonetheless.
So, only the 160 kw unit will run on cracked ammonia?
"Recently concluded trials have shown that AFC's proprietary fuel cell system can use "off the shelf" ammonia cracking technology, with little difference in performance compared to hydrogen sourced from industrial plants."

Thanks BB. I don't recall but, interesting.
The 160 kw unit is the one that will fly out the door. Hopefully it will be read On time.
Any size fuel cell can run on Hydrogen from Ammonia.
The real factor that dictates the size of the fuel cell system in that scenario is the minimum size of available Ammonia cracker. But even then, with Hydrogen storage it wouldn't matter.
Off the shelf where? Screwfix ? They haven't mentioned it in any of the roadshow updates so, maybe bumble is right in that it only works in the bigger unit.
Thanks haggis. I appreciate your inputs.
I suspect the thing about an ammonia cracker is down to viability. I don't know how much a cracker costs, but I suspect it will be significant. It may not be viable to invest in one for the smaller charge units, but will only be viable for the bigger ones. Just a thought.
Just had a look and there's loads available on the web, all start at 1 NM3/hour.
What i was questioning was where do you put the ammonia cracker ...a 800 c furnace in a 10 foot container.....the 40 foot container would be most likely....but i am sure others will know better.
There doesn't look enough room so would expect it to have its own housing.
muscorum ....The discussion at that time was about what powers the cracker of grid ....and how much power do you need to get the cracker to its optimum working temperature and maintaon that temperature.......and does the cracker switch on/off depending on its need to produce Hydrogen ...as usual the chat ducks and dives ....and you end up discusing christmas .
Will be interesting to see the final configuration of the EV Charger with the cracker running....is that what the customers are waiting for ?....
Let’s hope we don’t have BoP issues and need to phone up a company (planting?) to help!
Nobody needs an Ammonia based system, they can just use Hydrogen or Green Hydrogen. The bigger the system the bigger the fuel tank, whether that is a tank of compressed Hydrogen or a tank of Ammonia makes no difference in the off-grid situations were talking about.
Haggis is more full of s**t than me.
AFC have already stated the system is not cost effective running on Hydrogen. Cost is everything.
Because it's very easy to transport and handle, it's available in an existing global supply chain including via a couple of pipelines, it's got high density of Hydrogen without compression, it's cheap but probably no cheaper than cheap Hydrogen, because that's what's in it.
