Personally I have never quite understood why antibody testing didn’t take off. The finger prick is more complete than a poorly administered swab and the knowing that you have antibodies allows better distribution of vaccines globally. It’s a funny game
Well said HD, will wait and see meaning in these times anything can change at any given time.
Anybody needing to purchase a test:will imho just purchase the cheapest one possible;
Sileng, your post sums up the strangeness of the situation perfectly...not saying you are strange, your post is technically correct at this stage in time.
"Covid is not going anywhere". I think this is something everyone now agrees on. Also the scientific community now all agree that herd immunity will also not happen, so it really is here to stay forever.
Covid testing is ending?
The two together do not make sense, yes people may say we don't all test ourselves for flu (yet) and we all get on with our days when we have a cold etc but....
Covid is mega more contagious than Flu. It can rip through an entire workforce in no time.
Yes, most in hospital are not vaccinated but not all. Some healthy, full vaccinated people are still in hospital and dieing of covid...people do not die of colds.
One thing I think covid has definitely done is change people's attitudes towards acceptance of people turning up to work unwell (whatever it might be). I can't see a world where "don't worry guys I think its probably just a little covid", "oh right no worries" happening....ever!
So people either stay at home every time they get a sniffle, which means a lot of people off work a lot of the time, or quick, cheap LFT will be needed in very large numbers for the foreseeable future.
We just need to get our products done (please God!) and I think the goverment stopping free supply will actually help ABDX. You can't compete with free but I am sure a very large market (big firms etc) will remain for covid testing for a very long time.
Covid isn't going anywhere, testing will remain, as for covid stocks they look as good as dead, could change will wait and see.
If it reaches 10p ,, it’s massive top up time
Still no news. I think we will see 10p before any positive news. Then it'll have to rise 150% to get back to the placing and break even for most is much higher. Think this is becoming a dog with fleas lol
We appear to be dropping on very little here. Maybe time to cut this one loose
This time last year we had a trading update, in fact there was 3 in the 1st 8 months after listing. I suppose its way too much to ask now, as how things are progressing. The comms from this company are an abomination. No wonder there down a neat 11% again today. Totally stinks !!
I wonder how long the placing money will last?If no Government payment:then what? See ODX just had a jolly to Dubai and soon another placing!(Reminds me of A Dido song) White Flag;I will go down with this ship!!
I hope you are correct for all our sakes but it’s the management we need to hear from, the comms are absolutely abysmal. They may have bought shares but I can’t help feeling they are up to something. Maybe the guy last week was right, maybe they plan to crash the share price to buy the company back on the cheap.
Anther BS drop based on nothing (very low volume) oh well.
Anyway, other news I came across this which is very interesting. Published just a few days ago. As previously noted Antibody testing is clearly making its way up the pecking order.

In one of the links within this article there is this statement.
Recognising the importance of this essential information, we have recently increased our antibody testing to more adults in our survey by introducing a new finger prick test which can be done by the participant themselves in their home (a little bit like testing for a blood sugar level in the blood). This will eventually enable 150,000 people across the UK to be tested for antibodies every month for the next year, and therefore we hope measure how protection against SARS-CoV-2 virus changes over time. This will provide critical information on the pandemic and how we can plan to lift restrictions and return to normality.
I know the goverment use Surescreen Antibody tests but they only give a Yes/No answer. For this survey to be useful surly they would want an indication of the level of Antibodys and how quickly they are decreasing? I.e. ABDX semi-quantitative test.....here's hoping.

"UK Health Security Agency has increased test availability at pharmacies and so on"
this bit i call BS on, they have made it harder now since oct/nov, as they are no longer handing out free kits, but are trawling all your personal info and contact data before issuing a code for a test kit
that answer would be acceptable if we weren't over 12 months into this situation of requiring huge test numbers, but if pushed i'm sure the reply would be something like "well we had to commit to long term contract or they would have accepted offers from elsewhere, leaving us unable to get what we needed" i'm still not convinced i trust the chinese at all in this whole debacle
From questions in Parliament 5th Jan (?)
Neale Hanvey
I am grateful to the Minister for giving way again—he has been a great sport.
I have one short question about the volume of testing devices. Does he have any indication of what percentage of the test devices that he has touted as the greatest number in the world were manufactured here in the UK by domestic diagnostic companies?
Michael Ellis
In times of urgency, we wish to source from the most immediately available sources. I do not have the answer to the hon. Gentleman’s question, but no doubt it can be provided later in writing. It goes without saying that we would wish to do everything that we can to provide support, but also to deal expeditiously with urgent demand. As well as the rapid expansion in delivery capacity to people’s homes, the UK Health Security Agency has increased test availability at pharmacies and so on. We want to ensure that there is a reliable test supply over the coming weeks. That is the most important thing, and we are working to procure hundreds of millions more
Pumpky: I've asked Maggie Throup -Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Vaccines and Public Health, for clarification on one or two validated tests as she stated in the house (see my earlier post with link to Hansard) that two UK produced tests had been validated!
Home test for the UK?(thought Surescreen was the only company )
I didn't know that we had a home self test available.
I didn't see that on the website when I started investing here.
I wonder how that is selling?

General market seems up today apart from abdx and odx even though we,ve been told not to compare the two, our time will come as it isn't now that's for sure.
Difference between buys & sells as 110k (shares) & another 7.5% down. Very strange indeed.
Interims should be out in March. In reality ABDX need only make £1-2m annual profit to justify current MC, should be easy target and expect more.
Genedrive has a higher share price than this and they sell nothing.
Unbelievable!!!

Hardest thing to do sometimes is to do nothing. More chance of this recovering than starting all over again elsewhere.
I can't recall who put this on Avcata chat but is worth a re read and maybe an email to Maggie Throup (psvp@dhsc.gov.uk)

The statement/questions in Parliament by Neale Hanvey MP are excellent. Similar questions have been asked by others and more recently by John Redwood to Maggie Throp (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Vaccines and Public Health) and there were the usual inaccuracies in the answer and no mention of the money owed, cancelled contracts, Chinese imports, ctda/mhra test approval for UK but not foreign lfts etc etc. I believe we still need to ask the question of Government and keep asking until the "real" truth is forced out .
CrystallBallBroke.
I am down 45% in two months.
Feel sorry for long term holders.
I still feel this is a great company that is already making money.
