From LinkedIn - Kazakhstan: Kazakhstan, a lovely and hospitable nation in Central Asia, has found the largest deposit of rare earth metals. This deposit includes valuable elements like cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, and yttrium. With an average concentration of 700 grams per ton, it rivals some of the world's most significant deposits.

Kazakhstan has uncovered its largest rare earth deposit to date, located in the Kuirektykol site within the Karaganda region.
The discovery, announced by the Ministry of Industry and Construction, estimates resources of nearly one million tons of rare earth metals, a critical component for green energy technologies and modern electronics.
The Kuirektykol site, situated 300 kilometers southeast of Astana in the Karkaraly district, features promising areas such as Irgiz and Dos.
Rare earth metals are vital for technologies such as electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense systems. Kazakhstan’s discovery comes amid growing global demand for these materials and increasing efforts by nations to diversify supply chains away from China’s dominance in mining and processing.
While Kazakhstan currently lacks the technology to exploit these deposits fully, the government is actively seeking foreign investment to develop extraction and processing infrastructure.
If verified and developed, these reserves could position Kazakhstan as a leading global supplier of rare earth metals.
This discovery is expected to enhance Kazakhstan’s strategic importance in global resource markets and support its ambitions to become a major player in high-tech industries reliant on rare earth elements.
