Vodafone is by no means the only company struggling in the FTSE at the moment. Looking at the relative growth in the S&P, DOW and DAX against FTSE100, 250, 350, All share, it is obvious money is flowing out of London markets and into S&P, DOW and DAX, amongst others. The government have to wake up to the fact that either they slash corporation tax and employment costs (I've tear up the rule book) or there won't be any profitable companies left from which to tax and the Argentinian downward spiral isn't that far away. Sadly the current conservative government know they are out next year and won't do anything to even try and fix things before then, meaning labour will get in and make the situation worse. I give the country less than 10 years before it's begging for imf bailout, and half the international companies on the FTSE have listed elsewhere. Vodafone should definitely be looking to do so, especially if the government block the merger.
Looks like Meshtrader either works for Vodafone or probably is MDV who is chatting here to clear her back.. LOL..LOL!
Mesh it’s not the market
Vod is the biggest telecom loser by a country mile
This is going bust
"What’s your counter then Mesh
The market is talking"

You are right, the "market" is talking and I am grateful for it, otherwise I would have had to pay 160+ for each share.
The market can stay insane a lot longer than one can imagine, but in the meantime, I will grab the div and top up.
Super-shag-nasty share
Cracking phrase - take the share off and MDV would be one of those
Trying to use super-symmetry to describe VOD, lol, no you don t need anything as complex as that, its just a super-shag-nasty share lol (and yeah i hold some). I sold some at loss and piled it in RR. – recoup my losses
What’s your counter then Mesh
The market is talking
We’ll find the right fones 4 u
Jax.."MDV is Dianne Abbott" Last time I looked MDV was a slighly tanned, women of average build, & probaby a tory suporter, not a black, large women, labour suporter? I don't know if need to go to spec savers, or your doctor. Try both!
Dan, have you had any thoughts about selling any off

You are funny and take it as a pun.
Fleccy. There is a saying that if your pretend to understand quantum physics, then you don't understand quantum physics. Is Schroders cat dead or alive, or both? Do you pretend to understand quantum physics? You do seem to be away with the fairies at times fleccy. If you stop observing the fall in the vod sp, does that mean it isn't real? Let's just hope that Vod's cat isn't dead.
That's a bit exreme, they are still printing money and Vod's services might as well be considered utilities in 2023. Worst case is a dividend cut/suspension and maybe a few asset sales, and the balance sheet would right itself in short order.
Of course news of a dividend cut will likely send SP downward quickly.
MDV is Dianne Abbott
Do not forget we’re in a general market bull trend at the moment if that turns Vod is bust bankrupt insolvent doomed
Insolvency companies will be licking their lips
Evidently with no knowledge of either other than their respective public communication.
One thing that sticks out, Tufan never mentions customers and only keen to slash costs, while MDV is low key and emphasises customer first strategy while improving operational efficiency.
Time will tell which one of these two will outlast the other.
Weirdly im enjoying this conundrum....been in and out of vodafone over the years(made money) ...but started this position on the 8th dec 2022 @ 86.63....must last purchase was on the 13/12/23 @65.1955...i have a avg @73 ish ..ive recieved 2 dividends.in the past year....i will add more on further weakness ......happy to be invested atm otherwise i would sell in a heartbeat....l am involved in other shares and have always found the best way to make money is dip buying.....if this really goes pear shaped thats the chance investors take....im 66 maybe i like the excitement lol gla ...
Accolade this week goes to Davef, well done

Enjoy your weekend
Full list will follow..atb
If the dividend holds it will take me around 10years to break even, If i had sold a year ago (around 120) invested in RR I could now retire comfortably. In two minds whether to hold or sell and buy AstraZeneca...according to the Telegraph this could be the next RR. Like women you win some you loose some! Cheers
It takes one to know one Gary.
LTI's correct in his view that this is cheap, personally I believe it's subject to market gaming; No balls of steel required to hold a stock that's sure to go up in the future. I would liken holding shares to a phenomenon in Quantum Physics called Superposition, where a particle is in many possible states until observed and its state then becomes fixed, look up Schrodinger's cat. In the case of shares your capital gain, or loss, is unrealised (in superposition) until you sell (observed). Personally I'll hold until I'm in profit, since I view Vodafone as a safe long term investment. No doubt when Rolls Royce dropped to around 39p, investors sitting on losses were harassed by gamers like you Jax, but the ones that held on are now reaping rewards should they choose to sell around the current price, like I said Profit and loss isn't real until you sell.
Rob - I’m full of compassion for all VOD holders mate, even that numpty Jax. I almost hit the buy button this week on Tuesday but decided against. I’ll keep watching here if only for the entertainment value of the one brain cell brigade (you know who you are)
