"Great DIVIDEND yield here" Do i detect desperation in that comment ? Because Yield is irrelevant if you are suffering capital depreciation. Simple fact is the yield is Lipstick on a pig....30 p down from recent peak.....
I can look at this share and fall asleep !
With the country coming out of lockdown and hospitality shares escalating I wonder what way Tesco will go. While in lockdown this share should have Gone above and beyond. Slightly better market share etc but costs still rising. Retail had no one to compete with during this pandemic but themselves and they screwed that up with no other shops open and returning tax relief. Maybe the rumour of amazon might be the kick up the a*** it needs. I think most people not reinvesting dividend and making a quick buck in hospitality. Get in and get out with cash in hand.
This seems to be the opposite of a Bogoff . Buy two and get one in place at same price.
Underdog, to a point I agree with your post, HOWEVER (sorry for caps!) TSCO SP has remained stagnant during the recent bullish FTSE100 run, in fact depending on your date range it has fallen against FTSE. No matter what is said, the SD wasnt and the consol has caused more bad feelings than good. TSCO planned to try to hold price above/around 240p and this hasnt happened, add again the fact that FTSE has risen fairly strongly recently, TSCO hasnt so on many fronts this is a plodder, so I for one wont be getting exited regards SP growth in the short term. TSCO hit near 260p when there was interest in its SD as investors expected a 51.3p trousering, but many didnt do the recalulation after consolidation, and hence it is now back "home" mid 220-30 range. If you agree that dividend will be approx 60p in 2021 including SD, the DYield is 2.6% based on 223p per share, not great for such a sizeable and profitable business. I wish you well on your SP increase, but I firmly believe its going to be a longer timescale than you suggest. I certainly dont see 300p by year end, however as my Buy-In was 219p and i converted the SD to additional shares, I am not concerned yet, but the amber light is soon to go on!!
Great DIVIDEND yield herel
Great DIVIDEND yield here
Everyone is going on and on about Dividends Dividends it's just a Brucie Bonus, I personally bought this Stock because it has depreciated to it's lowest level and is beginning to platue.
(Shock horror.) I actually bought a share because it's growth potential! And not! The dividend.
Can you please stop moaning on and on about it and give something constructive- to this board.
Here's three reasons why I'd buy Teeco!
To all the Nay sayers and Aldi fanboys you can't beat the originator.
And yes I know I sound like an @@rsehole but please shut up about Dividends- if you want a pat on the back and Tesco to nurture you go and buy an Electric blanket! I'm here (Personally.) for the Super Low SP ONLY and the growth that will come with it, not for a cuddle and a few quid for Mummy tesco to nurture me.

SD paid in gbp finally. Hope all others have been paid too.
Technical error... Really. Someone chose the wrong currency from the drop down menu when putting in the dividend. I think we all know programs do only what they are told to do. Someone is in for a real roasting if they lose out to currency movements.
Any Tesco managers on here
Why has the verylittlehelps website been taken down ???
IG have corrected the error within the last hour.
(1) No USD to GBP conversion.
(2) Number of shares is the number you had prior to consolidation.
From IG:
Due to a technical error, we recently paid your special Tesco dividend in US dollars (USD) instead of UK sterling (GBP). In order to correct this, we will shortly recall the USD dividend paid and reissue a new GBP one to your account. We expect this to completed by the end of today (Tuesday 2 March).
We’re very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this error. Please note this does not affect the number of new shares that have been booked onto your account to reflect Tesco’s 15-for-19 consolidation.

Good luck. Still waiting for the rest of mine but at least it's moved along a bit.
Actually thinking about it. Some of you did get less tan expected and maybe you were paid in USD. I still not received anything thou. Will have to wait.
Reply from IG, re SD.
Thanks for your email.
Kindly note that there has been dividend payments, erroneously deposited in USD instead of GBP, and our team is currently working to rectify the issue. The correct amount will be posted in the next few days.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused, and thank you for understanding.

Why do I not believe this. Hmmmm.
HSBC invest direct have now transferred money into my trading account - equivalent to
the return of capital amount from my purchase on Fri 12th Feb.
There is no mention on the description as it being a 'divi' as was described on the return of my previously purchased shares, but simply a 'transfer'.
Utterly amazed, didn't know that folk still messed about with share certificates in this day and age.Last time I had any was over tewnty years ago.
I think you give the BoD far too much credit...stupid is as stupid does...and the SD that wasn't a Dividend by any twisting of the dictionary term is proof positive of that ! As for incredible machinations such as you describe ? Nah not buying it at all !
"Tesco management look to have a nice approach to adding shareholder value. Spare cash used to reduce the float of the shares making future EPS growth excel by 20%. They are basically giving the money back to the shareholders and hoping they repurchase boosting the share price even more. I see this pull back as being healthy, higher lows and higher highs to come. (that means weve had a 25% jump then a 10% pull back, then hopefully another 25% charge upwards to 280p ish.
I have two ISA's both contain TSCO, they are with AJ Bell & HL. I have to say that all dividends inc this latest offering arrive very promptly, always the same day with both companies. Sad to hear about other people not being paid in time.
Hi all did get some money from IG finally. Wrong! Phoned up! I know what a game they say it's in the hands of IT dept. They will sort it out but as I told them they have had months to be prepared for this and it's ridiculous no information about what's going on unless you are prepared to spend 40 minutes on the phone. We should be getting the rest of our money once the IT dept sort it. We live in hope. This as been ridiculous from start to finish when that will be well your guess is as good as mine. If anyone gets second part of money will they post.
IG have screwed up again.
Their corporate side of things are disgusting!!
Thanks Mike
Mine hasn't come through yet. Is there anyone else that hasn't received!!
DT270380,
"don’t understand why they had to issue a new rns today?"
Probably it's a regulatory requirement on *all* listed companies to do these once a month, or something like that, as a matter of course. Look at the RNSs of BP, for example - it's just the same.
Rgds, Mike.
