It's a funny one though, maxit and xib asset management ( the short ) are literally on the same street in Toronto... there must be a link?
Evening all, KS correctly called the exploitation Agreement last Friday and we did indeed exchange a few messages so bang on the money. The short is still in play so I'm guessing your hinting that no bid is imminent?
Mrtit, should I be worried?, I've just gone back over your posts since you honoured us with your appearance. And 91% of your posts refer to me.
You've added F A to the board, but found the time to keep posting about me. What strange behaviour.
I also noted on one of your other boards hrbo or something. You constantly boasting about holding 3.5 million shares at 2.8p.
Mrtit, genuine share holders don't need to stalk people and make ridiculous share holding claims.
Into my lying fantasist drawer you go.
definitely ****!
Sorry mrpit. I must of gotten it wrong. I was under the impression the more outrageously ridiculous the post, the more the board hung on every word.
Just thought I would make up a load of bo""cks to join the party.
Unlike some on here tho, I know I was posting shte.
Tldr
😴
Back so soon, slug? You told me last weekend, under your last (predictably short-lived) incarnation, that I'd be made to look silly by this week's news ... Any update on that? 🤣
Be real for a minute: why do you keep coming back?
What's your suggestion anon? That we ramp the company to each other to create some excitement and volatility for you to trade around? ;-)
Why are caps not working? Again?
so starting to build a mine should happen in 2025, apparently.
my money says we won't even have sorted a deal with anyone until the very last minute.
i've been saying for ages that a sale won't happen anytime soon and i continue to think that now.
this is going to go to the wire and i'm going to continue trading it. anyone thinking this will be sold soon is only asking for heartache, imo.
meanwhile, the pathetic ******** and fighting on here goes on, helping to supress the share price. you think chat on here affects nothing? i strongly suspect it does, particularly with the puny volume we've been getting of late.
The other issue is, if by some miracle solg go ahead to build. With solg track record of deadlines and decision making. Anyone over 40 will be dead before a shovel full of copper breaks surface.
Rcg. That's only one of our problems. No buyer on the horizon. Nobody in their right mind would risk giving solg up to 4 billion to build a mine. Would you. So a jv is the only option open to us.
And that will be some deal, trying to negotiate with mather.
I don't think there is any evidence of any willing buyer at present.. If there was any, any at all, the share price would be well north of 16 pence.
Any talk from Scott about interested parties, I put in the same basket as the same kind of vague words from previous CEOs, way back to Mather days where he regularly spoke of a dozen majors circling and showing interest.... its just non committal, positive management speak, bigging up the asset and the company.
Will there be any corporate events between now and Christmas?? or next summer even?? Who knows... But its going to be a very uncomfortable AGM if we are still sat on our hands hoping for a buyer to show up..
There isn't much to stop those things, rcgl, but there is even less suggesting they will happen any time soon. I'm not telling you how to invest, but it has served me very well to go off what is likely, not what is possible. It is possible that some philanthropic billionaire will swoop in and offer to buy solg for £1.5b, giving everyone a 3x return on current investment... But it's totally unlikely. So we need a return to prudent planning for the next stages, and I think that's what we're slowly starting to see now, albeit without any major announcements to confirm that yet (these term extension and exploitation licences are foreseen formalities).
I chose the Dec '23 deadline to encourage brainless rampers to nail their colours to the mast Q4 last year. They were posting with such laughable confidence that we'd be taken out soon, I asked them to see that we'd still be solg by our Dec '23 AGM. Most were apoplectic with rage at the idea... Mocking the very idea and branding me a deliberate de-ramper. And one by one they've either changed their tune or quietly climbed down as they've realised I was right. That's one thing I'm grateful for today.
Sorry hadn't seen your reply to Bozi, is that the answer to my questions? That you just see no evidence of a willing buyer at present?
AgArCu - if what unfolds is some sort of JV or similar arrangement with a much larger partner facilitating the financing and beginning construction (potentially leading to them buying out their Solg junior partner at some point in the future), then I agree that this is not all going to unfold any time soon.
However I thought the "fast and smart" comment was in reference to selling Cascabel. It wasn't clear to me whether their preferred option was literally selling Cascabel (ENSA) and keeping the rest, spinning it off etc, or if it was to try to sell the whole of Solg to an acquiror who gets Cascabel and everything else thrown in. I thought the point of the Bob's Bat reference was that he was trying to keep Cascabel out of the hands of BHP and NCM, by selling it to someone else.
What is your reasoning that neither of these options will not happen in the near future? Let's say, within a year, rather than putting an arbitrary 31 Dec cut-off on it. What's to stop someone like Jiangxi coming in and offering to buy Cascabel/ENSA and Solg's board recommending this as the best outcome on the basis that they have no hope of financing it themselves and remaining as a minority partner in a JV is not the best value for shareholders? Or alternatively, what is to stop an interested party tiring of the constant "two steps forward one step back" of Solg trying to develop Cascabel, and just making a bid for the whole company? That would get all the prospects into the acquiror's future pipeline to be developed by them on their timeframe and with their negotiating power facing Ecuador govt.
I'm not saying I expect either of these (sale of Cascabel or sale of Solg) to happen in the next year for any particular reason, other than I suppose that if they are going to happen they have to happen at some point. Just curious as to why you think they definitely won't happen within a year.
Some shareholders want an exit sooner than others, Bozi, but we're back to the simple idea that some proposed exits require buyers who just don't seem to be there. Jiangxi seem to have stopped after re-establishing their pre-dilution levels, as predicted. All other parties sitting on their hands.
I think you're right about no one wanting more printing (unless it's unfairly cheap and mostly to the current board!). Makes it more likely that they will go back on their previous royalty statements, though as I've said before it's not the most likely play.
AgArCu - I still can't see a JV, nor do I believe one restores the share price to parity for anything but a fleeting moment.
SOLG have the CGP shares. After that it's back to the printer. I can't see how this will suit anyone... Mather, DGR, Sangha, Irwin and Co.
Now factor in the party who might actually come on board. If its not BHP or NCM(or NEM) then I can see a massive power struggle over development plans.
Even a deal where SolGold took a free carry doesn't work. It prolongs SolGold where many shareholders and shareholder groups are desperate for an exit.
It's just not a viable option.
Quady, I thought I was correct when I pointed out your post was misleading.
The Ecuadorian minister actually stated mining IS SEEN STARTING IN 2025. Not as you stated WILL start at the end of this year"
REUTERS YESTERDAY
"Construction of the mine is seen starting in 2025, with operations kicking off in 2030, the ministry added.
Bit of difference mate. Facts and opinions.
Interesting to see the chicken bone man turn up yesterday. Historically he turns up when the price rises, to tell us he saw it in the tea leaves. Unfortunately he jumped the gun, the price dropped. Last we see of him for a while, he's back to screaming at the moon till the next rise
Copperpot. Therein lays the issue. Your last post sums up to perfection the delusion and arrogance you and others have, that you think only the select few can have an opinion on solg.
Yesterday quady spouted to all the gang, exactly the same sh**te. Telling me I didn't understand the solg story. What a priceless bunch you are.
Do you mean patronizing, rather than pedantic? That's a joke, obviously.
I think it is embarrassing that some who have been here 10 years still don't understand the company. Perhaps, one might suggest, that is because they read this board rather than reading pertinent information relevant to solg and it's journey? There are not many other explanations for their totally misguided comments about takeovers and time-frames. Just a thought.
Have a good, too (?)
AgArcu, without sounding pedantic, you've only been here 18 months. The majority of us have been here 10 years plus, please don't be telling us we are getting to grasp the Solg story.
We know where this is heading, and we have known for years!
Rant over, have a good.
