For me, the important thing is Lasso's attitude to illegal mining. One of the main reasons the general population of Ecuador are anti-mining is because they only have experience of the devastation wrought by illegal miners and the pollution of cyanide and mercury they leave in their wake. There is a perception that mining is 'dirty' and kills the environment. If Lasso can rid the country of the scourge of these criminals, and encourage modern 'clean' projects, it will go a along way to calming people's fears and reducing their opposition. Spending mining taxes on clean-ups with big advertising campaigns would also work well.
Rcgl,indeed we do !! Onwards and upwards!!!:)solg
RK hi,
Agree...initial drop was fairly expected after last week decent rise, but slowly and surely price heading up,and a flat finish or even a small rise before close will strengthen our bullish run of late....so much news are in the pipeline...

Buyers already paying above 28p now....
Jungle Jane - long time no hear?
See DBW's post @0914 regarding illegal mining.

Jungle Jane - what is your view on the immediate future in Ecuador regarding mining (concessions and permits) and also any environmentalist backlash post GE?

Having analysed the data available,
Lasso will win, by a sizeable proportion.
GLA.
Just decided to refresh memories.
I get savaged by trolls and cavemen when I come on here, but I am passionate about Ecuador, so I ventured onto the board today. My friend in the ministry of non-renewable natural resources will have info on these matters soon and I will revert when he informs me about any new policy regarding exploration and mining concessions.
further refresh.
This will be sold. MY calcs are around 250 a share.

DYOR.
Production ain't happening.
JJ, I always read your posts with interest, it’s a shame you get attacked and some of the bullying that goes on has stopped a lot of good people reading and posting regularly.
I look forward to what your friend has to say so please do post if you feel able.
I am also reassured by Lasso adhering to the IMF deal giving confidence to investors. Any wavering on this would have caused uncertainties.
JJ - thank you and stick with the posting. It is quiet now because the stock is in an hiatus (inexplicably) and posters are bored. They will return when we see the upside together with all the 'noise and disruption' they bring too - rise above it....don't respond. Filter and report as and when.
Good to see you back.

Production might happen under different company name
This is very common at this stage of development to reduce the risk and keep the money making potential assets
In anycase your shares worth at least 5 times the current value even with either JV or take over, with JV of course is a different route and all comes down to terms of drawdown, percentage of steaks and give away but still means move this forward to large production
The assets are truly world class and gigantic truly one of the best miners to invest at the current level.
Don't lose patience, this will be played but stick with amazing fundamentals here you will not havr anything like it around
Things will start moving faster in May
All the best
SD
Cheers Stockready...totally agree...
And JJ...please stick around...you add to the considered wisdom on here...ignore the idiots or filter them...
IMO, I can’t see this being 5 times our current share price. More like 2 and half to 3 times. Probably won’t hear anything about JV or sale until the PFS is complete. If it does go that way, there will probably be radio silence for 2/3 months. Could be early 2022 before actually information is released on that sort of situation.
Sorry mate...don't agree...
This share is massively undervalued...institutions are now buying...election out of the way with a favourable outcome...
If you look what happened to GGP it could happen here when this catches fire...
GGP went from 3.25p to 37.35p after the Newcrest JV, EVEN THOUGH Newcrest will eventually end up owning 75% of Havieron...
Just imagine what would happen to SOLG if they announced a J50% V with BHP for Alpala...a Tier 1 prospect...and we have at least THREE of those...
Meanwhile...

"Everyday you mine and your business gets smaller. To permit a big copper mine in the United States could take 15 to 20 years. To finance it, put it into production. Very, very capital intensive, very time intensive. We’ve run out of time and the reckoning is coming,” he said.
Part of the reason that supply is not going to catch up to demand immediately is due to a lack of investment into the sector, Rule said, adding that a coming commodities supercycle will be the likely result.
“We are definitely coming into a supercycle as a consequence of under-investment and therefore supply shortfalls"
Does anyone have access to this Mining Journal article ?...

I was previously unaware that certain vehicle manufacturers also produce/smelt their own copper amongst other things
we have a long way to go before we can announce we have 3 tier 1 prospects. They are as rare as rocking horse ****.
Its an opinion...
As I wrote last Thursday...
"I don't mind seeing a bit of profit taking tomorrow or Monday to refuel the rise..."
So today was pretty resilient, considering that gold, silver and copper have all been weak...
And people will take a day or two to digest what is regarded as an excellent election outcome by Solgold management.
Once again there was a big UT (291,640 at 27.45) with a solid finish...
I'm looking for this to reach the 30s this week.
Thursday's Proactive Forum should be interesting.
