Good luck sadoldgit , with your CV and experience even in these testing times you shouldn't be out pf work for long.
With tongue in cheek 750K from the grant for me.
SAR have produced compelling data to demonstrate THE BENEFICIAL EFFECTS of SDC-1801 in modulating the the key cytokines involved in the storm phase of Covid-19. This information is in the public domain so no need to issue an RNS but the recorded data isn't. So on receiving the grant I would hope that SAR take advantage of the window of opportunity and issue what would be a blockbuster of an RNS and help to propel the SP towards much higher levels.
Boris stated only yesterday that the government were chucking money at covid treatment / vaccine research.
We are in the right place at exactly the right time guys.

Same here, I'm in IT and through a LTD... cant see myself going permie though...been there done that years ago and managed to survive the past 17 yrs as LTD so going to plug on, well till December at least and then see what happens as out of contract then and the area I work in is tightening up somewhat, and plenty will be going to UK gov for bail outs this quarter.. hard times... I'm hoping I won't need my SC next year as SAR will hit at least 28p and I'm out of the rat race for good, with my kids sorted too... fingers crossed!!
Thurso sounds like a destination for me and my camper that SAR is going to buy me!
If you surf and are are ok about cold sea thurso it s a good spot I believe
SOG - sounds like you have all the right skills. What do you do? I'm in IT and used to work contracts. Good money but a pain in the ass when looking for new contacts. I was LTD but through an umbrella company so it was an easy switch. Been a permie for 3.5 years now. Less money but it has allowed me to fly under the radar through this pandemic. 10p here would probably see me leave the rat race and take short contracts to keep me in beer. Also. a year in the highlands sounds ace.
Thurso just up the road from me grand place good people. Good luck on the job front
Let’s hope this rises to a decent price and then it will ease the pressure off you finding work for a while.
Good luck sadoldgit-hope it all comes right for you.
Thanks Philboro. All is not bad. Several irons in the fire. Just been contacted with regards to a position ( 1 of 4) at an establishment 1 mile away from my current place of work . MoD! Have current SC clearance, classified workers medical. CV went in yesterday. 12 months contract.
They cannot find suitably qualified and experienced people with SC clearance. SC clearance now from application to granting of taking a minimum of 8 months.
Situated near Thurso which is the tip of the Highlands ( look at over the sea and you can see the Orkneys).
Must be prepared to stay up here for entire duration of contract.
The 4 of us who finished on Wednesday were requested us to submit our CV. Closing date originally mid October. Only one company tendered ( no competition).
Job is to start ASAP but with Mod and current delays I would think a start at beginning of January which will do me fine.
Two other jobs one for Chalk River in Canada and the other at Barakah in UAE, Applications now being invited. Will get them in today.
Had the shares here too long to chuck them in for peanuts. Staying put!
Regards
Sorry to hear that sadoldgit, let’s hope SAR comes in for you and all of us
Good look mate
Hi All - some interesting discussion on the BB
If I recall correctly, we have previously received funding from UKRI to the tune of £140k to review our CHK1. This was absent a global pandemic that is wreaking public health and economic carnage.
IMHO the grant will be closer to the £1m mark. This is based on a look at some of the other grants awarded, the urgency and quality of submission (by this I refer to the probable inclusion of existing data (SRI), the current safety profile and synergies with lupus.
GLA
Of course Ahfam after a grant award and should development prove favourable then the other interested parties/ government will want to know the availability.
It in my belief will come down to the cost of the development. Tim and Co would have submitted a ball park figure for a total quoted/estimated cost to bring it to a certain stage. Whether or not this involves additional funding from a pharma ( as Patrick Moore would say 'Well we just don't know')
What is the scope of the development ,ie how long will it take, is it safe to use and is it effective? How much can be produced and by when? Importantly trial sizes a few 10's or a few thousands. The latter will be extremely costly and beyond Sareums financial capability at present.
If it is found to be effective in the treatment of Covid-19 then it will be absolutely essential to have vast stocks available and as soon as possible.
There will be a lot of sensitive information on that application which we are not privileged to know.
I would hazard a guess that there is an interested party or parties that will be waiting on the confirmation of a grant and to seek initial indications as to the likely hood of success.
It is not a case of being given a grant of a few thousand pounds in the vain hope that something maybe useful, but several hundred thousands of pounds for something that is desperately needed and very soon.
It may work it may not. Big pharma's have been plugging first generation inhibitors that are not only proved ineffective, but also an appalling safety profile ( NDA black box warnings). Now Tim in his video stated his reasonings as to why other inhibitors were failing, This is where we believe our Tyk 2 JAK1 can work he says, as opposed to the competitors products. Tyk2 is second generation inhibitor.
Sareum have not made a product that has had severe side effects or been ineffective in its preclinical or early clinical stages. That speaks volumes in itself. CHK 1 is proving extremely favourable indicated by Sierra keeping grasp of it. Frustrating I know. Our Aurora FLT+3 was picked up by an unknown Chinese pharma for shirt buttons and a 900k milestone if the compound solubility issues can be resolved, or continuation of development. If Tim believes that our TYK2 has a good chance then I will put my money on him.
Covid-19 aside, the TYK2 molcules are an extremely valuable in their own right having no toxicology issues, reinforced by not being able to establish an MTD even with higher concentrations of the compound. Sareum now resorting to 'very high concentrations' of the compound in an effort to establish maximum tolerated dose.
These are my opinions and anyone like to counter them feel free.
As for a speculative guess for a grant 600k. Many on here more knowledgeable than myself to hazard a guess. I may well be wrong, a country mile out.
Off to bed now, look for a job in the morning as just had contract terminated due to the dreaded Covid-19.
In reply to an earlier statement I can't see how the grant is already priced in. The current price doesn't even value the current assets correctly. As I said earlier today, using Kazia Therapeutics as a benchmark, we should already be at 1.77p on just the pre-clinicals . As soon as 1801 goes in the clinic its a major hike, with 737 already in the clinic we're due a hike, another in January with FLT3 and then there's 1802 hot on the heels of 1801. The Covid grant is most definitely not priced in given the current price. For me the value of the grant is not the issue, its getting on the fast track and raising awareness for a rapidly developing high value asset. I'd be happy for 50k just to be able to knock on the door of Gilead and say 'look at this, lupus, cancer and covid, no toxicity and an extended patent. Get in now or join the queue'. GLA
I have been here for many years you know what I will stay longer if they find a cure for all these man made diseases
In tyk2 john has perfected the molecule- we have medical journals raving about it and us and chinese armies are actively testing it. There is no MTD or tox issues and we are showing indications in many auto-immune and cancer indications not to mention potential covid avenues which has similarties to lupus as Thoth pointed out which they US army have used our tyk2 for- so I would imagine that the applications made by Tim, John and the team would no doubt have highlighted some of these evidences as they have taken so long to apply for them it would be inconceivable they would have not done so, with this in mind I believe a grant closer to if not exceeding £1m would be in play seen as we have no tox or reached mtd. In my opinion of course, views welcome- Rmm, Thoth, Hopkirk et all
Sort of along the lines I’ve been thinking as well -especially as it took them so long to make a considered application. We can but hope.
Someone a few weeks back posted a list of grants given and depending of what the heading is on the app and what they are looking into would depend on the amount awarded I’m going to stick my head above the parapet and say at least 500k with a big Pharma named as partner GLA hopefully our time is comming also are we not also waiting for the patent of 1801 which could be fast tracked and could drop in the next few weeks ?
My guess is the grant is a fair way priced in as a date for news was given in advance and hopefully the grant amount will be in the £200k+ area but the SP will suffer if we don’t get one, its small and we have to part fund it or its delayed. I don’t think the grant was ever part of the Bods plan so hoping they put in some effort on the application.
I think most here only look at the SP when they should be looking at the MC. The company is valued at £40 million and everything is priced in. Cash amounts have very little to do with the market cap which is why we have been languishing under a penny for all these years. It's all about risk, reward and sentiment on AIM. As thoth says. A compound with low toxicity and efficacy in clinics could well be a billion-pound asset.

The guy running the bms celgene integration (mostly immune. Tyk2 & otezla). With a very firm grip on industry valuations. Has jumped ship to private equity. Make of it as you like but sooner rather than later to realse fair value
My guess for the sweepstake is £90k . I think Tim said in the presentation that the application was just for preclinical work but more funds were available to take further if needed. TBH I don't think we will need further funds if pre-clinical goes ok. It will be licenced at that point. As others have said, it isn't the size, its who it is attached to that matters (oo, er). We'll definitely be pushing 2p on the news and maybe with AIM the way it is, go on to 3p. I'm with other here in that 5p could be reached by the end of the year.
Also repeat again that Tim said they had applied for a number of grants so hopefully there are applications in for each stage of the process.
Aber- hope it’s more than that but to put it in context it’s for pre clinic lab work surely - not front line treatment?
Not putting a damper on what your saying but I disagree, I think the main rise from last week was from the patent plus there’s a lot of spare money looking for next big pharma after NCYT etc
I’m not expecting a big grant cash wise but more significantly looking at partners, Co liberations etc reckon £50-200k max And then BOOM depending on who
£20k and its taken 6 months+ to apply for ... that would be something not to shout about and would be seen as quite embarrassing for a 'best in class' opportunity
