Would be great to see some skin in the game like a government grant to back up the photo op .. suspect that may send us rocketing.. needs something concrete now .. a contract, ML, free dosh
Government seem to be taking an awful lot of credit for this deal. Do we know if they actually helped in any way whatsoever? I’d wager not.
Nice to walk in to the pub tonight and people are talking about the buy out,
Smug or what? :)
Today's visit by BoJo.....you'd have thought a prime ministers visit to an AIM outfit would have put a rocket up the share price...but JW hasn't done a good job of keeping the market interested and all that's left are stale bulls.
Surprised new blood didn't come in today but I bet if we were .0037p we would have had a run...penny share phycology, as I mentioned at the time of the share consolidation.
GLA
Amazon share price up 63% since March 1st, spread the load if needed
RazorShultz. I have kept the faith more than most here. As most of you probably know, I have been an ardent supporter. Unfortunately, I need to change my tune. My responses to your post are in CAPS.
INFA have pulled another rabbit out of the hat, and I was delighted to read they've captured another important market segment where they can be competitive. IF JW WAS A MAGICIAN AND THE TICKETS WERE FREE I'D BE EQUALLY IMPRESSED. Lots of interest in the FRSU and the Marine License is coming in due course. DID ANYONE EVER QUESTION WHY THE FSRU DID NOT GO AHEAD WHEN, ORIGINALLY, THERE WERE BLUE CHIPS INVOLVED? THE SAME ML THAT WAS ORIGINALLY NOT REVEALED TO INVESTORS AND HAS SINCE BEEN PROMISED ENDLESSLY. WHY HAVE WE HIRED SUCH A HIGH PROFILE LEGAL TEAM? Tendering for larger contracts at H&W Belfast and carrying out minor works already. WHERE ARE THE CONTRACT AWARDS ANNOUNCING NEW BUSINESS/CLIENTS? The company said they would achieve maiden revenues previously and they have done that, and now they've said they're aiming to achieve cash break-even, which I have no doubt they will do. £9M PLACING PROMISED TO PAY REMAINING 1.45M DEBT TO PURCHASE H&W, YET STILL WE HAVE NO CONFIRMATION! DEEDS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. Great stuff. IF YOU LIKE JAM TOMORROW. HOW HAS THE MARKET REACTED TO THE NEWS? I BET ML AWARD WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT FOR OUR POCKETS!
*more detail on the actual facilities
Raiders. Without a doubt the most reassuring post today. After 5 years, I'm tired and almost worn out of all this jam tomorrow talk. JW can only promise so much before the message loses impetus. New investors be warned, everyone dreams of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but if the journey takes so long and costs so much, what will you have at the end?

t infa have "bought"
Great post dawski37 & I would add look at the number of congratulations on JW's LinkedIn account it says it all & covers a whole range of companies - link below:

Great post from the twitter group .. apologies if already posted but girded my loins

When we eventually get all this jam coming our way, we’ll need some containers to put it in, Loosegoose you might be on to a winner!
Despite the shipyards being old, they in effect are start-ups. Aren’t all start-ups “jam tomorrow”. Would be nice to have news of large contracts, would be nice to have the ML granted and it would be nice to have something more concrete on the FSRU. We can chose to live with what we have, quite well laid out by Dawski, accept H&W as a 159 year old start-up and wait for the jam - or we can sell. Simple choice. My choice is to wait, and holding 666k shares it is quite a choice. Bring on the jam I say - hopefully tomorrow! Cheers all, onwards and upwards.
Afternoon All,
A lot to take in, but my overall thoughts are positive- it is bold, ambitious, a statement, displays confidence etc.
Interesting LinkedIn post by H&W too.
The InfraStrata group now has the potential of employing 1,550 people- 800 at Harland & Wolff (Belfast), 350 at Harland & Wolff (Appledore) and 400 during the construction phase of the Islandmagee gas storage project.
My overall thoughts are watch this space- confident this will be a very different beast to what it is now by this time next year!
Cheers,
TheEast
....It probably is !!
The serious downside of the RNS is rather more " jam tomorrow " and nothing definitive/certain about current actual contracts and of course IM is uncertain .BUT ...assuming:
1. That JW and Team ( who are not short of experts in the field of shipbuilding now) have done their Due Diligence well and have convinced the II's of the merit and affordability of their plans and clearly have their support and
2. Whilst the yard does look rather dilapidated and somewhat run down now after 18 months or so of closure and lack of investment,we do have the strongest link for updating with new systems and technology with Navantia and i just hope that they have been fully involved at all stages ..well done indeed in keeping stum by the way as the RNS was a shocker indeed !
3. Bab*** could not make it fit their business model but we have good connections and working relationships with them and they are of course a major player in UK Naval contracts and A&P did play a vital role in building modules and the complicated bow section for the Carriers so the yard does have capability.
4.JW sems to have wizard connections in the City ( perhaps with one well known exception !?) so hopefully finance is not an issue over the 30 months time span for payment .
5. The market is still digesting today but if Bojo & Co are truly on board ( and their presence is a jolly good sign so well done PR section ) then for the long term view assuming all above fits in we must give credit --there certainly is a book to be written here !!

Many thanks to local MP @Geoffrey_Cox
for joining the acquisition celebration today at H&W (Appledore). With a large number of domestic and international vessels to tender for, we have a fantastic opportunity to capitalise on the government’s regional #levellingup agenda
Edit: There is a clear political connection.

Great to add the Appledore shipyard into the Harland & Wolff group, it adds a strategic yard at the smaller end of the market that is very complimentary to our existing yard in Belfast.

We are delighted to announce that we have acquired North Devon’s historic Appledore Shipyard. The new site will officially be named Harland & Wolff (Appledore) and we are pleased to be building on our globally recognised brand. #INFA
Hi RazorShultz - I totally agree with you time now to be positive which is why I am showing 'Strong Buy'.
I’ve made a small investment on the strength of this RNS. Good news IMO
BTB agreed. INFA have pulled another rabbit out of the hat, and I was delighted to read they've captured another important market segment where they can be competitive. Lots of interest in the FRSU and the Marine License is coming in due course. Tendering for larger contracts at H&W Belfast and carrying out minor works already. The company said they would achieve maiden revenues previously and they have done that, and now they've said they're aiming to achieve cash break-even, which I have no doubt they will do. Great stuff.
ban4118 In relation to your13.47 pozt that explains the drop in the share price nothing like a visit from the PM.
Boris Johnson, speaking during a visit to Appledore, said the shipyard had “massive history but it’s also got a great future”.
“What we want to do is to ensure that there’s a good enough stream of contracts coming through to drive jobs and growth here in Devon,” the Prime Minister said.
Well the ships still have to be maintained, and stopping operations for a year will cause some issues with maintenance so should be a positive. They will not want maintenance breaks next year so will prepare to get everything done before the new season IMHO.
Does this have any effect on INFA https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-53904221 ?
BTB, It could well be a great move, but I honestly think INFA need to stop spending and 100% concentrate on generation to fund these ventures, so far the outgoings are rising fast but no information on if the inflows are keeping up......IMHO
