AA was a great one - did well on that twice
Could easily be another bidder come in for DT as is the case with AA after BHP approach and that could well be the case for any additional UK stocks after an initial approach is made given the steep discount and favourable FX position in some cases. UK plc is ‘for sale’!!!!!!!
Thanks, Stevie, it's been a pleasure. And yes, I have doubled my investment, if all lands safely.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you - and drop by to say hello. That book is going to be frequently well-read. Take care.
Win/"Patience is a virtue" . I have about 20 on my watch list. Im going to the end with this ,so that will probably take a few months. We could get really lucky and get a market crash/correction just before we get paid out. My head tells me to go into something safe but my heart is saying go for growth/risk. If you need to contact me after this has gone ,you can find me on the CVSG board.
Cheers,
Is anything coming to mind?
I wonder how long this will take to play out.
Wini/well done! ,you must have doubled bubbled on this. Now this gives me another problem. Ive got my position in the 4 stocks im holding. So now im looking for No5
'those' not this - typo!
Well, looks like it is what it says on the tin.
I'm taking it as stated, unless of course we have another RNS after close!
Bagging a tremendous profit so I'm happy.
A big thanks to this who gave sound advice, particularly s/w
Having watched the intense activity in AI in the US market I am not surprised at this, expected, offer. As a holder I would have expected a fair offer at this stage of 700p minimum thus I continue to hold. I understand BoDs happy to accept given the uplift to their low price original investment. This company will be developed in the US where liquidity/investment is multiples higher than the LSE - reason why FTSE companies deserting or considering it in droves. Be interesting to see whether further bids incoming from US.
Ok it is a Scheme of Arrangement so 75% it is. Not so good for hanging in there to get an inducement.
I looked up on the threshold for compulsory purchases in a take-over.
There are two types Contractural , where threshold is 90 % and Scheme of Arrangement, wherei it is indeed.d 75%. Need to look to see what type of takeover this is.
Anyway take -over companies don’t like minority shareholders and they will offer inducements over and above the offer price if the threshold is not met.
As a long term holder who had no intention of selling I am disappointed in today's news. Darktrace are worth substantially more right now and had the potential to be multiple times higher in years to come. The fact that London can't value tech stocks is proven yet again as another one is sold on the cheap. No wonder the number of IPO's taking place on the LSE is at record lows.
HG This is a copy from a UK legal firm. I am open to correction if this is wrong. I also recall when Cadbury was taken over it was 90%.
‘A compulsory acquisition of shares (or a 'squeeze-out' of minority shareholders) occurs where a bidder in a takeover for a company has: the acceptance of at least 90% of shares; and. 90% of the voting rights in the company it is trying to buy.”
Sorry,i misread the RNS. 620p it is
Kick - funnily enough I have finally just sold RR at £4.06p. It really has made me a life-changing amount of money, as I went in big-time with it. Pure fluke to be honest as I could never have imagined how fast it would rise. But had I stayed here I would have made FAR less. Just a bit of very good fortune for once! Good luck to you. . . . ATB
Great to see you back Sheltie. Hope those RR shares are making retirement come sooner rather than later.
Wow this ends a truly miserable time on the London Stock Exchange for Darktrace Plc. It has just been one thing after another. A lot of people have lost out on this one; and when you think that just over three years ago, folk were paying north of £9! Ouch. Not a very happy ending for many here, but it's a very good offer given it's current turnover (and pretty meagre profits). This will certainly be finalised and the BoD will be voting "unanimously" for it; done deal!
£6.20p per share is not quite the fairy tale ending that the dreamers were massively ramping here!
You have done well from it Stevie. You substantially backed your own judgement and I am pleased for you it has paid off.
Always gave the board valued comments unlike some others I care not to mention.
Its $7.75 meaning £6.20 which is why I let it all go at 620
Im happy with 775p. It seems fair. We did our last placing at 750p,so it gives them the chance to get out ahead, So i expect the deal to go through. I wont be selling anymore at these levels,i will wait until the end. Over the years, ive had a few buyouts and i have tended to sell on the offer. On average it would have been better to let it run out.
I gave data driven factual context to what I believed was a fair price so stand by all the data I shared
Being Captain Hindsight is so very easy to do when not sharing any insights
This is what a chat board is for; sharing insights, factual data, thoughts etc to have meaningful adult conversations
But hey some just like to dig at others as that's all they have to do
Net is I've been here from start & worked this industry for decades; I've bought and sold through the journey & it has done me well
If somebody buys shares based on an unknown stranger saying it will be 100x next month then I guess the answer to will you walk off the cliff has been answered
Great call, for once someone here makes a great call!! :-)
I agree HKK and thankfully when you were ramping £21 a share everyone could see right through you.
Anyone who makes significant monetary decisions from reading an unknown strangers post on a chat board really shouldn't be investing
As already mentioned not a guaranteed yet but with the lack of free float and the amount tied up in the members of DT and the likes of KKR this looks like it’s a done deal.
The main points to take from this the company was never worth £21 a share that Fred and Rose west kept ramping on here.
Well done to all those that bought in early commiserations for those that listened to Charles back in the day and are massively looking at a loss.
