This is the consensus for operating profit...
We smashed it.

Probably right botbot. I mean look at US last night, economy data showing signs of growth and the markets freaked out and retraced.
Come on IAG!
Don't care about dividends.
The focus should always be on reducing debt to pre covid levels.
If dividends are paid, then additional 50% needs to go into pension fund as well, so not beneficial use of cash in hand at all.
Pay down debt.
Why we are keeping near record cash on hand makes no sense, we should use that to pay down variable debt and reduce the interest costs.....unless they are getting more interest from the cash than they are from the cost of the debt of course.!
And the debt is now less than $2bn more than it was pre covid.
Paying down $3bn in a year from last year, currently keeping more cash than pre covid on hand, the only negative is the top line revenue is lower than consensus, but profit has smashed it.
So....... It will probably drop 10% then.!
Probably might go towards £2 today itself.....excellent results....
at this rate, debt gonna go away in next 3-4 years...
I havent been able to find anything about pension fund.....this is probably the only gap. Assuming lack of ref to divi means we are as we were before. Probably this is the only negative
Forward bookings
I couldnt see anything to mor like about EZJ .
You just cannot tell how the results will be viewed
I can't see anything the market won't like.
What wrong NettlesTheCat?
80% HIGHER operating profit before exceptional items THAN CONSENSUS.....
Well all looks ok so far, obviously still debt but that’s no reason not to like this. Debt is being relayed at a fast rate and demand is strong.
I hope the markets see like it, it deserves a good day.
"Record first half operating profit before exceptional items of €1,260 million (first half 2022: €446 million loss), an increase of €1,706 million, with sustained strong demand across our network and particular outperformance from our Spanish businesses"
Fudge me.
Here we go…. Let’s get the RNS up and have a look.
The new agreement with the NAPS trustee includes that BA will not pay a dividend in 2022 and 2023
Can you really see divi payments tomorrow, I personally can’t. They will at least see out 23 before considering it.
I just hope for a good day tomorrow, it’s been a bit of abysmal this share.
Something similar to rolls performance would be lovely.
How far away are we from IAG reinstating some sort of dividend? Next year?
What was the EBIT forecast? 233 is clearly an error.Worth noting that a 6% beat on ubs net income means a record q2 perhaps then the stock will be looked upon like DAL rather than AAL. Also the DB downgrade afew weeks ago is based on their estimates 20% below consensus - lets hope they have to upgrade (again)
