Had another look at SPI as I hadn't realised that the SP was so low. Might be worth watching as the loss making bits seem to have been sold off and things should improve from now on, bit like CSLT really. Interestingly they are looking to expand the meter reading arm into the US which is a huge market. I'll keep an eye on it. Don't think Jarvis were doing anything mate, you did the right thing there. If you've got any spare funds, take a look at Kryso Resources(KYS). They've got the rights on the second largest Gold mine in Asia. Not producing yet, but a Banking Feasibilty Study is due to be published later this month and I think the SP will increase accordingly. SP is down a bit at the moment and it is a good buying opportunity.
Was looking at spice as in less than 55 and out at 62 but wont as would need to buy loads and then if they dont i,d have to sell some good ones to pay for them and the yield isnt enough for a longterm hold. Utilities, 1,they missed the rise,2,the yield, love dividends mate, either way its about as safe as one can get and theres little or no interest on money in the bank. The pharmas hopefully will come good, worth the risk, when you look at what i,ve got riding on hawk etc, its almost inconsequential!! Sold my jarvis earlier, watch them rocket now!
I looked at SPI in September last year following a hike in SP. They looked promising and I was think about getting in but was tied up with CSLT's OO and also GFRD. Then the SP started to drop, and drop, and drop. At which point (December) I stopped watching. I know you like the Utilities, but I can't see much of an upside just yet. What is the attraction for you? You did a good thing getting into AKT & PYM - wish I had spare funds to follow you.
okay, just bought 6k of akt and 10 of pym, didnt go for spice as the yield is rubbish and the graph is one way
Good morning bud, havent much time today for shaers but still toying with the baby pharmas,i see pym is 12 on the bid,a bit high do you reckon? Spice holdings looking cheap too but the yield is too stingy for a longterm hold, any thoughts on them?
Thats one i,m not worried about as i really believe they,ll have a 3 in front of them at some point and till that happens theres an acceptable and reliable divi. Good things are happening there on the roads, schools etc and whilst they wont be a fast riser,i think theres some reliable upside as long as the whole market doesnt go tits up again!!
Very surprised that BBY finished down today, given the £600m contracts. I expected a 5% gain when I read it this morning, so, what do I know !
Thats what happens when you excell in your endeavours mate, thanks for that, normal happy go lucky service will be resumed shortly!!!
Oh.. Agony Aunt column as well as a financial column, I'll be needing double pay !
Cheers for the summary on those, will keep a closer eye and await available funds from some of my bloated other ones which i,ve averaged down on (too often) so want to reduce the levels. The pym 00,highly dilutive reminds me of cosalt a bit but different reasons obviously! The nurse, who knows just trying to get the other one out of my head and unlike my younger days,am aware of the dangers of rebounding,so happy with just friendship for the time being,oh no am i trying to make you my relationship advisor as well as filling in my "reasearch gaps"!!!!!!
Oh well, hope it works out this time. A nurse is a better option anyway, they're used to clearing up after us men! AKT and PYM are both in the buying window at the moment. I can't see either of them going lower, (unless they go bump), but they may not rise for a while either. If you don't mind tying funds up, they are a great buy (IMHO) and will reward you eventually. Sadly, I haven't got that much to tie up at the moment, so I need to keep an eye on them. PYM could take off at any time, AKT is a bit more predictable. The situation is briefly, AKT are awaiting an appeal against the decision by the EMA to refuse marketing authority for their lead brain tumour drug Cerepro. If this is successful, SP will increase to around 50p, if it fails, SP will stay where it is or drop further. I expect a decision by April / May. PYM are still developing Cogane, the Alzheimer's / Parkinson's preventitive drug. The reason that the SP fell was purely due to the Placing and Open Offer of a further 252,000,000 shares @ 10p. I think they decided to increase the funding whilst the company was in favour. If and when Cogane is approved, again, IMHO, the SP will rocket. Imagine the effect of a drug that can CURE and PREVENT those two terrible diseases.
Yes mate looking like a de-lister that isnt going to re-list i,m afraid but we move on in time, the nurse is just a friend really but you never know..........bad news on minster, you,ll have to get an i-phone like me so you dont miss out,ha ha! Looking like a tin hat day out there,my only share activity was to grab 5k of those havelck things earlier, maybe a bounce, maybe a longterm hold maybe a future divi, lots of maybes but thought i,d risk a grand anyway. What do you reckon the target prices are for ark and pym(to buy)?
By 'prospect' I take it you mean romantically. So is the 'ex' now out of the picture? PYM is still an excellent prospect, as is AKT, just a matter of timing with them both. Speaking of which: Remember I was watching MPM (Minster) for something to happen, well, whilst I was away over Christmas, 31st December, the bug*ers went and sold out to Proximagen at 6p a share ! 45% profit ! I was expecting a move and had funds available, but just missed it. Moral of the story is to keep your eye on the ball, even when on holiday.
mind you, better than watching the ones you have bought go down by those percentages mate!!! my big ones are fairly stagnant today. Have asked a new "prospect" whos a nurse to dig around on PYM and AKT as she reckons her guvnor is well into the pharma shares, will report back here, havent climbed aboard yet(the shares!!) ha ha,catch up tomorrow mate
Oh, what a day ! Had to sit and watch the 3 prospects I researched over Christmas rise by 7%, 12% and 15% whilst unable (or unwilling) to sell anything as all my holdings either dropped or stubbornly refused to rise into profit. I think I'm going to have to learn to sell at a loss, if the upside elswhere warrants it. Very frustrating watching everything rise, except the ones you've bought !
Just spotted the cosalt rise, was chatting to jellyboy on nrr whatever it is about them, either a long crawl back up the cliff or a smash and grab on takeovers maybe? Finally hit profit on balfours so thinned out for a tate purchase, oversold on a credit suisse downgrade but retaining a £5.50 target! Bought some north river things on the back of a director buy, hoping it could be another mwana. Trying to increase my yielding/forget about shares this year so keen for topslicing opps on hawk but am sticking to my target 60+,could be a long wait, have a few topping up ones like wichford, rok, severn trent etc on the shopping list but need those funds from my bloated aim portfolio first. I dont think i could bring myself to sell cosalt unless they have a really big rise then will try and sell high and get back on the(inevitable?) retrace, these things never seem to move in a straight line........monitise is doing really well, mwa and hawk under water, noventa too, chariots up,watching pym,are you?
iPhones, cor you and your technology. Still on an enforced 'holiday' so catching up with the paperwork. Wife and Son are stuck in Bournemouth so nice quiet house for once. Must admit I've got quite used to lie-ins and lazy breakfasts, wish I could afford to retire! Lots of new buyers at Cosalt, including my eldest Son, who rang me last night with a 'Great Tip'. "Certain to recover and will double in price..." yeah, you guessed it, Cosalt. He was a bit down when I told him I'd been in for almost a year. However, it shows that it is on the radar now, so should show a gain up to the results. I'm actually showing a profit of 2K on them, but will hold now. As you say, there is more than a few pennies there.
Have been posting on an I phone do apologies for predictive text/errors here and there now and then!
By the way forgot to mention, thanks for seeking me out on balfours or whereever it was earlier, was genuinely busy with work stuff etc but do consider you as my reliable 'BF' on these sites of anonymity if that makes any sense. Going the cosalts travel further than a few pennies but maybe have made the classic error of becoming emotional or totally irrational about a share as I have with the flying things etc but apart from being in and out of the gambling shares, some do have those huge hope factors and some you just stay with what the he'll,know what I mean. Anyway hope you get plenty of real work soon bud and that a few of our hope factor shares happen. New year strategy is to trade less and try and re-balance the yielders and grown up shares with the gamblers but all options are open I guess. Anyway happy to see you back on here mate,James
So it was a board reshuffle, not a hostile take over battle in the making eh,oh well,we,ll get there in the end. been frantic ferrying staff around today in the landrover(how to get people to come to work!!!). havent done any major manouvers today apart from avoiding parked cars on hills but had a dabble in north river res and bought some wichford after thinning my moni, leftover funds was a small punt on akt or necessary average-down on those urals things and alas the urals won(if nothing else a better chance of ever getting shot of the damn things!!). I,d love to say i had a few researched onbes but i,d be lying, you know what i,m like!!!! got to run, catch up soon bud
its because he is loyal to lloyds, never sells and he will keep em forever. he may love the filter, but he loves lloy even more, never fall in love with a stock, always a bad idea, aint that right?
Sadly, haven't got the liquidity at the moment to play with the Russians. Tied into CSLT, DOO, HDY and AKT at the moment and looking to increase CSLT and AKT when possible. I usually like to keep a back up fund for my small pharma's as they can sometimes wake up from their slumbers and surpise us (as PYM!) but with my tax bill to pay and the house improvements (plus a megga expensive Christmas!), I'm short on spare cash at the moment. Plus, with the weather as it is, I'm not even earning from the day job. I've got a great list of prospects, researched over the break, but am unable to do anything about them, very frustrating. Oh look, Cosalt have had a reshuffle on the board - that's why SP is up
In descending order, hawk, balfours, mwana, moni,a stack of utilities, lots of bits and pieces like cosalt, chariot, plus, cleared out my bae and most of the centrica for averaging down the big 4,glaxo,jarvis etc etc,i think i need more "forget about and collect the divi stocks" but i cant resist the "high hope factor" ones, know what i mean! Hope you,re managing your miners okay?
What happened with MWA ? Last time I looked they were on the way up. BAe and Balfour are going well, are you still in there?
Welcome back mate. Glad to see some movement on cosalt too, enjoying the chariot ride and still holding my big 3 aims, mwana, hawk and moni with mixed success. Balfours and the blues are okay, did look at ark therapeutics yesterday but didnt buy, will keep an eye on them!
