Interesting history going on there mate, women at the root of all of it i have to agree, the eternal battle of the sexes eh! Lazy shares,oh yes know about them too mate, though HAWK had just "recovered" to 30 when i last looked!!!
Oh.. lots of skeletons! mainly involving women. Found some relatives that came over from the US in 1680, so their families must have gone out there early on. Also found a link back to Roger De Sandbach, who came over in 1066 with William l. He was given most of Cheshire as a reward (hence Sandbach) but sadly his descendants gambled it all away or married it off with their daughters and it ended up with the Breretons, Egertons, De Traffords and Legh's. Sadly none left for me. I'm sure CSLT wont go bump, they're just very lazy shares, bit like HAWK & MWANA, they should do well, but for some reason don't. I think it's a fashion thing Oh well, tomorrow's another day.
I know what you mean on cosalt but having stayed with them so long,it would be odds on they spike the day after you sell,at least they dont look like they,re going bust so surely they will recover. I,m haunted by the mistakes i made over-trading last year so have a hold mentality on most of mine now, having said that i,ve day-traded lloyds and inchcape for a few 100 quid profit and just bought some jarvis again with the same intention, i.e. gambling within the confines of a 10 day rolling settlement and take any profit just for the hell of it! Seems to be going well with the nurse, still getting emotional pain from the ex but trying to keep a distance, just cant believe how some people can lie with no regret or remorse, you kind of expect it in business but not in matters of the heart,i guess everything is for a reason though? The family tree is growing then, thats taking it back quite a way, hopefully not too many "skeletons" in there bud!!!!
Glad the medical research is looking good. I had a quiet weekend catching up on my family tree, I tend to do it in spurts when the mood takes me. Just found some more back in the 1720's but I've not verified all of them so haven't added them just yet. Very quiet here this week. CSLT seems to have gone back to sleep and the miners are creeping back up, so not trading at all at the moment. To be honest, I'm looking at ditching CSLT and putting the funds to better use. I can't see any major movement in the SP until the interims are out in July and there are better opportunities to be had. They should be better than the Final's that we've just had and may take the SP up a bit, but it seems stuck in 'Trundle' mode at the moment. With drilling about to start in the Falklands, the oilers down there are going to rocket, and if they strike lucky on the first spud... Ooohh Eeee Baby !!! Whilst CSLT sleeps on. Then again, if they get a duster and CSLT get a bid - If If If....
Well no trades for me today, been busy at work, medical weekend successful, should be a re-match next weekend...........noticed UEN went up a lot today but need to double from where they are now for me to break even so not getting excited, very few of mine in profit apart from a handful of bluechips. I think some of the oilers need to get going,or maybe PYM and AKT get their patents or whatever it is they hope to do. Catch up soon mate, hope you had a good weekend, james
Cheers bud, i,ll thank you one day for that advice but i wont scream at you if it doesnt pay off either!!!! Off to the medical studies in a bit, have a good weekend mate, james
Whatever else you sell, hang on to Noventa and Kryso. Noventa especially will do very well in future years. They will have one of the major sources of Tantalum and can produce it at a lower cost than most other producers. The Chinese and Americans are buying up all the Rare Earth metals they can, so when this starts producing, it will have buyers lining up. I will be in very shortly. I did read the FT article regarding AKT online. It didn't really say anything new, other than the writer had a stake and he was trying to improve the value of it. I'm always sceptical of the professional 'Rampers' , they should be banned. ICX were written up by one such writer, Tom Bulford I think, in one of the penney share rags, the price increased as more mugs were sucked in a few weeks later they went t1ts up. I wonder whether he had sold at a profit by then! Good luck with the medical studies !
I dont know mate, i,ve got so many speckie miners and oilers at the moment,it just doesnt appeal. I,m playing with some lloyds,bt,inch, ukc at the moment whilst waiting and waiting for hawk to get going and some of the other stuff to get out of loss. The nvta, tnz, mwa, vog, kryso etc etc all in loss now........anyway,the good news is that i,m heading to "gladys territory" this afternoon,so will miss all the fun when the yanks open up,work is busier but as fast as we sell one, another falls through,a very fickle housing market at the moment, but when isnt it!!!! The baby pharmas,do you reckon i should hold or trade if/when they go up a bit, AKT got a big leg up with the weekend ft guy but has come back just as fast,timing,patience.....mind you i,ve cancelled the paper now so only have the IC to read at weekends, how are you doing bud?
...investigation, there seems to be a lot of selling going on, probably long termers profit taking, so I will hang on and wait for a drop. Still a very good prospect though and top of my watchlist for a while.
Do you remember I mentioned a company a while ago called Seeing (LSE:SEE)? Well, they've just sold their first driver alertness system (DSS) to a mining company and the SP is up 25% today. Sadly I didn't get in, (not following my own advice again!) but as this is the first order and they have other systems on trial with other potential customers, it may be worth a shot if you have any spare cash.
Well i,ve kept the AKT and PYM,NVTA etc but no angels, just had a garage sale and used the t-10 facility to have a go at PVCS and INCH,i hate shares!!! Should have bought aviva yesterday,or this or that.....
Just read through the GLI RNS in more detail and it seems that the company was struggling to make the interest payments and remain profitable. It was a good company but I feel the Board looked after their own interests at the cost of PI's. I was lucky, I got out with a small profit, (which would have been a large profit this morning), but others bought in far above 140p and they will be facing large losses. I really do think that trading the miners is the best option, for now anyway. I say that, but then I look again at ANGM, AKT, PYM, etc, etc... and think they will make me rich. Which they may well do...one day.
I dont know mate, with your extensive research and my chuck it at anything tactics, and neither of us get it right! Perhaps its the wrong thing,i feel like i,ve been chasing losses the last 2 years because thats exactly what i have been doing, the last couple of weeks i bought all manner of stuff, averaging down, new things,i wont bore you with specifics other than to say none are in profit and it looks like i,m going to have to garage sale a few by the end of the week to cover the positions, surely something will break? At least theres gladys to look forward to at the weekend!!!
Crystal Ball...Time Machine...Yes , very useful. I sold 10k's worth of GLI last month in my 'clear out' at 72p a pop. Today they have announced a 140p per share offer. I sold them as my wife works for the company and they had been laying people off and cut all overtime etc. Usual actions for a company in trouble, so I got out. So how good am I ! Yes, apart from the SIPP, which I am looking at 'adjusting' , it's only CSLT and FRES, KAZ and ENRC at the moment. The miners sre on the way up again, I did manage to get in really cheaply last week, so should be OK there. I wonder wether it's worth doing any others to be honest. All that time and trouble when the miners just go up and down like the mouse in Hickory Dickory Dock !
Oh for a crystal ball or a time machine, actually maybe i should concentrate more on the day job and write a book on "how to put people off buying your house", todays examples include the vendor announcing he,s not negotiable before the poor buggers got in the house, followed by demanding everyone takes their shoes off(if the carpets were clean....) and then "taking over" with lengthy explanations on why his is the best combi boiler in the west etc etc, anyway shares,a few have gone up a bit,a few down a bit but at least i,ve had the sense to keep half of mine in yielders so the divis will make up for the paper losses!!! Are you still just keeping the cosalt and the sipp ones or are you playing the miners still?
Yes indeed, but you also know I never take my own advice !
You always tell me not to look back mate!!!!!!
Don't know much about SAM, other than they are assett managers and the SP has started to move upwards over the last couple of days. Could be something due. At around 2.3p a rise of 1p would be fantastic, best of luck mate. Just clearing out some files and found a 'buying slip' for ANGM from September last year, 150,000 @ 2p. Wish I'd have kept them ! 7p now and due for another good rise any day now.
By the way, i,ve got 75k of SAM in my collection of paper loss punts, in at about 2.5p so not far off, noticed some hefty volume recently but spoke to my broker and he says the notifiable limit is 32 million so nowhere near that, any thoughts on them as i only bought them as a blind punt thinking ir they go up a penny.........as you can appreciate my "extensive research" didnt really go beyond that and checking the liquidity, whoops!!!
No idea mate, too busy looking for ways to reduce my open position from last week,so frustrating as the buying opportunities are everywhere! Spoke to "gladys" about AKT,cant remember the specifics but i read the extract to her over the phone and she was positive, mind you its not her money!!! MWA is the big one when "ole rob" pegs it so i,m taking a longerterm view on it. HAWK dirt cheap, hoping for some (upward) movement prior to drilling updates this month and results next month(i think),i guess if one is good it,ll be reflected in the results after as it must be profitable exracting oil at these levels??
I don't read newspapers as you know, so I missed the AKT article. However, yes I agree fully. One of my favourites and I will be back in very soon. If the appeal is won and Cerepro is approved, I can see 50p quite easily. The danger is, of course, if the appeal fails. I don't think they would close, but the SP will be greatly reduced and would not recover for a long time. As you say, not for widows or orphans. What's happening at MWA? Noticed the SP is down at 11p, has there been some news or is it just the fall in metal prices?
Hope you had a good weekend mate, markets in continuing turmoil again today i see. AKT got a cracking write up in the weekend ft by the way, grossly under valued, not a one trick pony, decision on cerebro in april, not for widows and orphans but a 4 or 5 bagger if the appeal is successful, quite a plug, added another 10k at 15.2 earlier. Otherwise have a week/10 days to decide whether to pay for last weeks stuff out of the rapidly depleted cash reserves or trade out if i see profits, but not today by the looks of things!!!
A tin hat day,in extremis i believe! Bought more hawk, got the average to 37p,surely thats a good average mind you the topslicing target has been reduced!!! Cosalt, saw the massive buys earlier, thats got to be significant. My watch/own list actually has a couple of non-movers but not a single blue either, the wine, olives, cheese etc sounds a far better option than trying to figure out the debacle of the last few days mate, not seeing "gladys" till next weekend as working this one, have a good weekend bud!
..of 'Tin Hat Days'... I looked at my holdings / watchlist / prospects just now and for the first time in my memory, everything was RED ! - EVERYTHING ! Come on someone, give us some good news. The only glimmer was SKR which is only a 'research project' at the moment so doesn't count, which was up 12% on the sale of 7,500,000 Lehman shares at 22p. Interesting one which I will add to my watchlist. CSLT - doing well in terms of sales today, but not reflected in the SP. We may see a pickup next week I think, lots of interest sub 10p. Agree with your plan for the evening. Nice bowl of Spaghetti, loads of crusty bread and a plateful of smelly cheese and olives, helped along by a bottle (or two) of good Chianti, sod the FTSE ! Have a nice weekend, good luck with Gladys Emmanuelle !
Another tinhat day,not even going to work out my p/f values this evening, good buying opportunities around or are they??? HAWK-induced alcoholic excesses required this evening, not going out so going to break into the old thumper i reckon! No analysis required, just a bad day really,at least it takes my mind off the other stuff. Dipped my toe into uk coal and tucked a few TNZ away to add to my collection of paper losses in obsure miners, the nurse has a thing about tanzanite jewellrey,i a thing about shares, maybe shes "the one"!!!!! hope things allright with you mate
