No counterparty risk with gold in an uncertain world. The deviation from interest rates has been for a couple of years.
Purchasing in the east is a factor of course
It's weird that both usd and gold are high at the same time. Some analysts think it is a short lived situation and the pog will go lower. I'm not so sure. Global debt levels are high, unprecedented outside of wartime (world war time), especially USA.
USD strength has little correlation with US debt; British sterling remained the reserve currency for a long time after British geopolitical decline and high debt back in the day.
My greatest problem is being tempted to sell out of total boredom and a desire to use funds elsewhere!
Yes. Great to see close above 30p. Closer we get to likely news the higher we will go. It cant go for less than 45p and 60p could be upper limit so maybe 50-100% upside on news. Could be more. Just need to wait to find out who is the buyer.
Simms, it is an assumption that calibre had interest. Personally I have never thought it and I hold there. Happy to admit being wrong on that one if it transpires.
Ortega is moving further away from west and democratic ideals all the time. China is the obvious desired end result and gvnt will have final say imv.
Good to see 30 p breached and hope to see it hold. Perhaps news is close ? I am getting ready to maybe let some more go soon if we move up circa 35 p. There is always the possibility of a suspension on news I imagine .
"What is happening in China?
Gold trading volume in China is now 400% LARGER than the average seen in 2023.
The trading activity in gold on the Shanghai Futures Exchange spiked to 1.3 MILLION lots on the peak day of trading last week.
This came at the same time that gold prices broke above a record $2,400/oz.
Last year alone, China's central bank acquired more than 225 tonnes gold.
Since October, gold is nearly 30% posting one of its best 6-month performances in history."
Quote from.Kobeishi on the X.
I doubt that the gold price rally has anything with US debt . In that case USD should depriciate against other currencies with low debt. Other commodities perhaps with the excepttion of aolver and copper havent move that much. So, I guess the whole process is due to Ukrain war, thus the freeze and then seizure of hundreds of billions of russian assets. Other powers prefer not to be in a similar situation with their reserves.
I think its reasonable to assume that from the start of the process the two main parties who visited the mine and still in the race are Calibre and China. maybe a few extras joined the race but seems logical given everything we know. What we have could not have expected is the process taking 15 months which is really Jim being demanding about price when the market for gold asset sales have been less then optimal. I only wish 9 months ago as markets improved we sorted a JV/financing as Jim would look a genius as we move into a gold price potentially heading to $2.5-$3k by end of year on central bank buying who probably already know the dollar is toast in its unsustainable debt. Just now a wait for sale to land and whether its closer to $100m or $200m. Frankly chip money now for gold miners so Condor is moving to a point it wil just be absorbed with little fanfare shortly,
Ccc, it is common sense agreed
Sakura, no I am not particularly clever and don’t claim to be but I do have working class common sense and pay attention to clever people for my advice. Not sure if you have aquired the British art of sarcasm or are serious No matter.i am not qualified to offer financial advice but do recomend James at invest answers .
My tips for the last year have been Clsk and mstr straight from James . One look at the charts of both and Bitcoin show extremely healthy movements, one look at Cnr charts show a horror story listed at around £2.70 in 2006. Currently near 30 p. You don’t need mr slipperiness flat hat in maths to work out where would be best to have your cash! Consequently my Cnr holding although in profit is much smaller than crypto .
Anyhow mr slipperry obviously thinks being female is a form of insult so from one lady to another good luck
Arigato
Simms I think it just shows how easy it is to read what you want to read from things!
Ortega growing interest in Chinese mining companies working in Nicaragua, wink wink...
Ortega Grants Chinese Company a Huge Mining Concession
April 23, 2024.
HAVANA TIMES – On World Earth Day, April 22nd, the regime of Daniel Ortega officially awarded a Chinese company a 25-year concession to mine 36,610 hectares of land in the municipalities of Siuna and Mulukukuu. Despite this large area now set aside for mining in Nicaragua’s North Caribbean Autonomous Region, the project has undergone no known environmental impact studies."
This is why i favour a Chinese bid, " Ruiz, from the Fundacion del Rio, believes the presence of Chinese business owners in Nicaraguan mining is part of the Ortega regime’s strategy to evade the US sanctions."
Knock knock who's there.......
You must be very clever Mr S. Perhaps you can help with with some of my other investments?
Bob's head got so big it broke the bandwidth.
I'm still of the view that if it is Calibre it will be mostly paper plus cash to oil the wheels. At the moment I'm thinking 2/3rds paper and 1/3rd cash. However, I suspect it could go as low as 90% paper and 10% cash. If it's the Chinese, it's all cash.
Time will tell.
Simms45 no offence, no more predictions or assumptions until you get one correct! Just yanking your chain;-)
I suspect Ryan got slapped on the wrists for his comments in previous webinar about Nic ambitions. Notice latest video mentions 0 about Nic. That is telling given previous webinar he rather went a bit too far on their plans. Hold tight!
Here’s the thing slippy, there’s not really anything I have said over the years here that hasn’t been right! Even tho the great brains sought to trash it. When Mellon stated his laughable forecasts for production I was the only person to call it out for what it was and say there was no chance. I was right ? Our saviour was wrong! Not only that but when he gave reasons for not going ahead he gave the same reasons I was called a de ramper for giving previously ie too much dilution and sanctions affecting finance . Thus destroying all of the various dreamscape scenarios offered by many posters here for production, ££ so and huge dividends. When I am wrong I admit to it which is more than the majority of dreamers here do.
Clsk still a buy on the dips slippy 😜.
All I can say Bob, is that you must be a woman cause you think you're always right.
I've given up explaining 3.93 to you as like a woman you only take selective bits for your discussion not all the facts.
In fact, you've missed your vocation in life, you'd be a great journalist for some tabloid
Agree - Calibre are "fully focused" on their new acquisition and mine build in Newfoundland. I struggled to get any hint of the funds raised being used as anything other than a safety shield for unexpected costs - but he didn't say it was going to be needed entirely for that either. They would have some cash available and of course they are on a roll with their share price at the moment, even with 10% dilution for the fund raise, so I would say the door is open.
Good to see more traction today and pretty much back to 30p. All looking very promising coming weeks. Gla
Lol slippy 3.93.
It’s a bit like b or rowing money for a development, stating completion of 250 homes in 2023, then in 3023 telling investors we don’t lay bricks in fact we don’t build . We are going to sell, btw we need some more money but someone in the company will lend some at 18% interest rate and have a load of cheap shares on tick. That’s what it’s like!
The more desireable a sale the quicker it should happen. Nov 2022 till May 2024 is a ludicrous timescale to still have no deal.
My maths isn’t that bad slippy Nov 2022 -dec 2023 -13 months. Managed to predict the last 5 fundraises pretty much spot on.
Anyhow good luck
Oh and BTW 17-5=12, no wonder you have so many profitable investments with maths like that. Stick to tea drinking
Sunjammer. Sure simms can read that a bit differently.
Bob, it's not like quoting a job slapping a few bricks up shoddily and drinking endless cups of tea
