I'm 51 looking to get my SIPP & ISA moving so I can retire before I hit 60 (fingers crossed ARB can get me there at 55!) but reading some of the messages on here they sound quite imature and driven by their current emotion whatever that may be at the time of writing, if the ticker is blue they're way over happy and red.... depessed!
The the weirdo's who come here to spread FUD, don't really know what to say about those...
Then you have people who sound older than me that have seen it all before and take most things in their stride who's mantra is .... patience young padawan.
so I'm wondering how old everyone is?
I'm pushing 60, but still from the good side.
31 - Don't say I'm the youngest here!
I'm 32 years young, love this company and am in it for the medium / long term. I hold an average of 94p.
Appreciate the guidance and rationale posted by some of the more experienced investors across the board.
GLA
I do agree with you here SUPMAN. Some taking with a pinch of salt but alot of them do talk alot of sense.
Bad side of 60.
Michael200012 - Yes, you learn pretty quickly which ones to listen to :)
Cheers
46 (although my 'real' age still feels 19)
22 here. Still early in my investing journey and probably have the smallest holding here but certainly enjoying the ride!
26 - got in at 65p and HODL'ing until i hit my target for a mortgage deposit.
44, Hoping this is my ticket out of the daily grind, have a decent amount tucked away and will probably call the working life a day at the end of the year - Any price increase from here only hastens my departure.
I am closing in on 67. I am breaking just about every conventional investment rule in the book. At my age I am not supposed to be involved with risky stuff but It has worked out well for me.
46. Also harbouring dreams of a very early retirement should the stars align over the coming months.
79. I remember the Poseidon nickel bubble of 1969 and I'm still here!
This is interesting, so I’ll contribute. I’m turning 40 this year - gasp. Hoping this will help start a new chapter, break the daily grind in a job that pays the bills but lacks the passion. Have always wanted to start a business, so that would be something I'd me to explore. Create a work environment and legacy of my own.
52 again looking for an earlier retirement which is definitely on the cards :)
Having identified myself as ‘female’ I exercise my prerogative not to answer the question about age.
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you ObiWan. I'm 39 this year and have started setting up a business to move from the day job.
This will certainly help speed that up!
SlowRoll, you probably remember the South Sea Bubble!
Goldy, it's not the size that matters, it's what you do with it. In this case HODL
Good luck Argonauts, young & not so young
30 and just need £3.30 for my mortgage deposit for my second house, come on! :)
42 this year.
And I hate this thread for making me consider my age.
How dare you.
:-D
'Man at the door'
54
:-)
52, but feel a lot younger sometimes!
Been trading full time since 2010, but I have never seen anything as exciting as Argo!
In very heavy here in ISA and SIPP, now have approx £140k in just looking for a fantastic ride, and see where it goes.
Fowldzy I can lend you £3.30 if it helps? I'm doing ok with Argo shares so I can afford it for now...
will let you know when I've finished putting my latest shuffle dance on tik-tok
