Daz when has he said that?. As I recall we are price competitive.
The question was, how does our product running on h2 stack up price wise to the competition.
You states if I recall that we went price competitive. I don’t believe that to be correct.
Chippy, the fact is that AB has repeatedly stated our product is a premium priced product, and that's with it running on Ammonia, if it runs on hydrogen then what ? If you drive an EV in the highlands of Scotland and you need to charge and there's an AFC powered charging station then you have no option but to use it regardless of the cost, that is not the case for construction companies looking for hydrogen fuel cells to power their machinery, and the proof is that other fuel cell providers are already active on construction sites, if hydrogen infrastructure is rolled out for HS2 i feel that will benefit the competition that are already competitive using hydrogen.
But you didn’t answer my question to you yesterday daz did you….if you want to be supposedly rational then you need to clarify your statements
Eh ? i haven't said a word this morning :)
If AFC are planning huge PR (you can't call it big news, as that would be price sensitive and would need to be in an RNS) around the motor show, we are now 24 days, or 18 trading days away from the start of the show.
How close to the show would you do the PR? Too early and it's quickly forgotten, meaning less people turning up at the show to see AFC. Too late and many may not be able to organise the time and travel to visit the show.
I'd personally go for somewhere between 14 and 21 days before the show.
Garonne, Desert, you act like annoying children. Grow up. You made your investment, so live with it. It’s insane to blame the management every time the sp goes down. I assume you’re adults so act like it. Good luck :)
In for 50k shares today after being on the side lines the last few months let’s see how the timing is on upcoming news......
lots of stale Bulls on here...full of.... well bull....grow a pair and hold ...sell or stfu.
It seems to come down to faith with AFC. There are those on here who believe AFC will deliver no question and then there are the sceptics who want to believe but find it difficult given AFC's previous false dawns. I'm in the latter camp but still holding and hoping. I agree with DW about AFC's sentiment towards private investors i.e. one of disdain.
Desert. I have been complaining wrt Comms. for a very long time, albeit with a temporary pause based on their update earlier this year. I guess we have to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are working towards a near term RNS that will put the World to rights, or at the the AFC s.p. If we are still being treated as mushrooms in a month's time, then we may have something structural to be concerned about?
Daz, since your back can you answer my question to you earlier?
Given that it was for the 2020 motor show, would funds already have been allocated? Alternatively they will use the demonstration system that they already have?
Interesting that recent RNS's have mentioned proceeds of funds going towards building systems for Juelich and Acciona but not for the motor show, why no mention of the system they will be building to take there ?
AFC announced in a 05/12/2019 RNS that they were the "Official EV Charging Partner of the British Motor Show 2020".
Presumably, like all the big events cancelled in 2020, this position still stands for the delayed show this year, assuming the focus remains unchanged (have not checked, tbh). Agree that an update from AFC to publicise would be of benefit
Also from that RNS...
"The event will showcase several of the latest electric vehicles ("EV") from leading international automotive manufacturers including the Alternative Driving Experience, dedicated to offering test drives in electric vehicles to visitors. The show will also exhibit technologies that support rapid EV deployment into today's market, to which AFC Energy's technology will be a key enabler"
"In collaboration with the British Motor Show 2020, AFC Energy's H-PowerTM EV Charger will offer rapid charging capability to several leading automotive manufacturers showcasing their vehicles at the Show's co-hosted EV Zone and Alternative Driving Experience pavilions.
Andy Entwistle, Chief Executive of the British Motor Show, said "the world is seeing a rapid transition towards battery powered vehicles and it's critical that the motoring industry offer up new and innovative solutions to address the key infrastructure challenges associated with EV take up by consumers. We see the AFC Energy EV charger solution as just that. Offering a zero emission, rapid charge, modular solution to the estimated £50bn grid upgrade requirements foreseen by EV roll out not only makes sense from a grid perspective, but also forms a key part of the strategy for decarbonisation of today's transportation system. We are very excited to be partnering with a home-grown British tech company as we deliver a world class motoring experience to the UK next year."
Adam Bond, Chief Executive Officer of AFC Energy, said "the British Motor Show is one of the world's iconic motoring events with such a rich heritage in leading innovative engineering and design excellence over many decades. It is a privilege to have been recognised in such an illustrious setting as the Motor Show and play a small part in this new leadership role as we advance into a new era of highway electrification. This journey begins with today's launch of our H-PowerTM EV Charger. With such a global showcase of world leading automotive manufacturers, this is a standout opportunity to highlight the benefits of AFC Energy's zero emission EV charging solutions and the benefit this can bring to the world's transition to an electrified vehicle future".
According to the motor they are, unless I have read that wrong.
Digby, I was posting about AFC being down to do the 2021 show many months ago but AFC have not even confirmed that they are actually going, let alone used it is PR opportunity. Let's hope that they have a plan for this soon as there would seem to be no point in having a head of communications and a PR company otherwise!
They first need to officially confirm that they are actually at the British Motor Show? I hope that they are mindful that 5 weeks without any real newsflow is a long time for AIM, especially when the sector is struggling, and I think that they should be looking for hooks to hang their PR on in the meantime like the motor show.
Any chance that big announcements could be made at the British Motor Show? There would be a huge amount of media there and potentially a way to get out directly to the motor press in one hit.
I agree, Haggis. Add in the new website that was found last week, not to mention all the new employees that need work to justify their presence at the new facility, and it looks like something is coming down the pipeline soon.
Agreed Haggis
They will announce big order AND the new factory at the same time.
High impact big announcement that will create a new perspective and establish real momentum. Hence do not announce anything now as that would be ‘wasted’ before the big one.
On Wednesday it'll be 5 weeks since the update RNS.
When things seem quiet at AFC, there is often a lot going on behind the scenes. There can also be a comms blackout if an agreement is close to signing, or other big news in the pipeline. I've seen many times where this has been the case, as if AFC had disappeared under a rock, only to pop up with a big RNS and surprise the market.
In the absence of any news from AFC for several weeks, which has been the longest gap in news for about 1 year, I was just looking back over the "Outlook" section of the interim results. Some targets should have already been reached, others are due in Q3 (i.e. by the end of September), some for Q4 (i.e. by the end of the year), some are ongoing and some are not time-specific. Whilst I remain a bit mystified as to why the company has seemingly chosen not to announce the opening of the new facility, the involvement in the British Motor Show or anything else in the past 5 weeks, logic suggests that each day without news is a day closer to significant news, given all the points below. Time will tell, as ever, although at least AB has hung his colours on the mast for the first time that I can recall so the clock is ticking for him too. I am surprised that there is not more buying support in the circumstances although you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink:
