AIM. I think we all hope for and want the same thing, success for AFC. Further, Bond did specify this year, so he has time, theoretically. Also, we are in AIM, which is a arbitrage central as we all know. That said, many of us do need to see returns, or at the very least not be party to capital value destruction every few months. So yes, in my opinion, Bond has little time for R&R, since he has made many promises over the years, secured capital from investors repeatedly and then left us in the dark for long periods. It's now time to deliver and if we reach January 1st without highly positive news, he should probably go. Hopefully, it wont come to that.
AIM. Let's see. They have the product (seemingly), they have the right strategic partner, they have the capital, they have the facility, they have the market opportunity. So, guess what, it must be time for COMMERCIALISATION and SALES. Bond must be aware that the market will go with the first economic option and will not wait around for AFC's dream machine, unlike the rest of us.
Spacerat. Market reaction understandable since the AFC story is now so dated it could easily be a standalone chapter in the Old Testament. Going forward - require highly successful ABB trial, appropriate product pricing, meaningful order, ability to scale production, demonstration of economics for AFC.....etc.
Aim. I reason I say 'very, very soon' is that the faithful have been on a decade long promise and, dare I say it, every company has to be accountable and deliver at some point. The great majority of s/h (everyone but you) wish to see a return in their lifetime, not that of their great grandchildren. It's time for orders and sales, not more talk! Your loyalty is admirable, but most of us want tangible results now. As it happens, I believe we will see something exciting shortly.
Neither two non commercial news items (macro H2, Extreme E) or the delivery of "one" FC to ABB will move the bar much, since we are then into test territory again. Sales based on material orders (scores of FCs) are now required, after 10+ years of R&D.
Garrone. I agree. Trade releases wrt staff hiring just don't impress. Any business can increase its cost base, so what we need is tangible evidence of orders and sales. At the very least, investors deserve meaningful periodic communications, as per other quoted companies. It's easy to think "all will be forgiven when we get a positive RNS", but I'm increasingly wondering whether any s.p. rise will simply equate to a % of the lost opportunity of investing in growth stocks elsewhere over the past decade? Hope to see meaningful news very soon, rather than another "trust me" release, otherwise AFC risks standing for 'Another Flipping Chump'!
Croqman. I remain pretty patient, but it's declining a little, month on month. Many savvy investors will fairly think "it's a very slow burn here, so I'll invest elsewhere and return when the sp shows sign of life." As an investor, remaining static, or below the January sp level for the following year makes little sense with so many options in the market. I'm a technology believer, but the clock is ticking, both for demonstration of commercial viability and for the longevity of the directors.
Aim & Daz. Perhaps we need a little balance here. On the one hand, selling is a far easier option than constant moaning, or de-ramping, or whatever is going on here. In contrast, none of us can be patient for another decade and, to be fair, AFC does need to up the anti wrt communications. The very occasional "trust me" RNS is no longer sufficient and we need tangible of progress, ideally orders. If not, then shortly, the question will become "can they actually make this seemingly great technology commercially viable?" The history of corporate failures is full of businesses with the best product that could not be manufactured economically, so AB needs to demonstrate AFC wont be another addition to this list.
The directors should maintain an active flow of information to shareholders simply because it is their prime responsibility. For all the other important responsibilities management have, from fuel cell development to staffing up, their key responsibility is to their shareholders who, in the main, have funded their journey to this point. This is particularly true for AIM companies, where shareholders are more fickle and prone to migration to more exciting stocks.
Desert. I have been complaining wrt Comms. for a very long time, albeit with a temporary pause based on their update earlier this year. I guess we have to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are working towards a near term RNS that will put the World to rights, or at the the AFC s.p. If we are still being treated as mushrooms in a month's time, then we may have something structural to be concerned about?
Superstarr, I agree. AFC may well have a pioneering technology that will set the World to rights. However, communications is King on AIM, particularly in the absence of sales, so we need to know that an economic product exists and orders are on the way asap. In fact any vaguely positive news would go down well, rather than have a total vacuum.
Whats cynicism, MPO! Isn't it really very simple. If you don't like the story and general trajectory, take your cash and reinvest it elsewhere. We don't need baseless de-ramping here, since negativity is nothing more than a boring drain for all. If you have some other agenda, such as spread-betting, or you're aligned with a competitor, then we can all be clear wrt your motives. However, why not come clean. Come on, be a man for once!
Aaron. I'm not sure anyone here professes to know everything. We all offer views, with varying levels of insight. However, that's what this or any BB is all about. Is there a chance you are being just a little pompous and condescending. Please feel free to add value if you have some, but periodic grammatical corrections are, what the word.......DULL!
Aaron. As your sole purpose, seemingly, is to act as a judge and arbiter of posts concerning their factual correctness (or otherwise), I'm mightily impressed by your time management. With so many AIM companies, so many billboards and so many subjective comments to attend to....you must be very efficient? Our very own unpaid 'in-house' editor, so we can all become more accurate...just like you!
Malik. 99% of posters and share owners agree with you, but we have largely come to realise that our utterances mean nothing. Until we see contracts and orders that quantify forthcoming sales don't expect much change. Fortunately, as AFC are equipping their new facility for production we shouldn't have too long to wait! Like you, I've engaged in undervaluation chat, but it's all just electronic hot air until management announce something tangible!
