Appointment of Chief Financial Officer

Volex plc ('Volex' or the 'Group'), the global provider of electrical, digital and optical connectors, today announces the appointment of Nick Parker as Chief Financial Officer, effective from 1 September 2013.

Nick joins Volex from WANdisco plc where he was Chief Financial Officer and part of the team that delivered one of the most successful IPOs in recent years. From 2008-2011, Nick was the Chief Executive Officer of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and a member of the board of Sheffield Wednesday plc from 2008 to 2011. Nick also served for eight years as Group Finance Director of Dyson Group plc, the industrial materials group, where he focused upon margin improvement, product rationalisation and growth. Prior to that Nick spent seven years at Carclo PLC and was closely involved, along with the CEO, in realigning the focus of the group from low margin steel and wire products towards high tolerance technical plastics, again with a focus upon growth and margin improvement.

The Board would like to thank Daniel Abrams for his valuable contribution to the on-going repositioning of Volex and wish him every future success. Daniel will remain with the company until 30 September 2013 to ensure a smooth handover.

As required under paragraphs 9.6.13(1) to 9.6.13(6) of the Listing Rules, the Company discloses that Nick was a director of Harris Miller & Co. (Cutlers) Limited within the 12 months preceding the administration of that company, which was wound up and dissolved on 24 November 1992. There are no further disclosures in relation to the appointment above.
