Well... it doesn't strike me as a bad thing if even our most ardent critic sees only 25p of value here?

And besides... we're already nearly 18p and will likely be much higher as the days go by... even before another bid emerges... I guess the lazy Market will simply chase this up on news... evidently can't be *rsed to work out true value for themselves... No surprise there then!

That Evening Standard piece also paints a very rosey picture of just how desirable AMER might be to other predators out there...

Ridden a few spikes myself. I don't blame day traders... just like pulling their legs (off ;-)) from time to time...

If DHC says 2p... for the uninitiated, this roughly translates as:

"I have bought back in (again) at 1.50p and am looking to exit (again) at 1.70p on the next spike..."

But, it's all guesswork at the moment... and I am only stating facts when I say II's drifting away (various II's have been selling down of late and fewer to replace them UNTIL NOW. And although I know this has a lot to do with sentiment in this sector... Amer BOD have not done themselves any favours either!) and PI's getting bored (you only have to read the past few months comments on this BB!!!!)

By the way: I don't personally see it as "unfair" to new investors if people who are already invested (I've been here since late 2016... yawn yawn...) want to discuss the buy-out price and have an opinion on this. The more debate and contrast we hear from genuine holders... the better for new investors to judge for themselves IMHO.

Over the years.... of the companies I have been invested in that have seen "successful" takeovers - the eventual price has always been a compromise of sorts and rarely a shocker - either way.

Would be great to see anything above 35p... but I realistically feel that (pending no imminent further RNS exploration successes) we are more likely to be taken out at / or close to 30p.

Whilst I think AMER would be worth a lot more (given time) I am also aware that the BOD have been "yawn" somewhat lackluster and lethargic ... Columbia exploration companies have historically moved at a snail's pace, many LTH II's & PI's are bored and want out to invest elsewhere - preferably in companies with a decent pulse.

So - given these facts, IMHO enough investors would vote for a 30p buy-out just to get on with the rest of their lives...

Here's a quote from the conference call as RNS'd by Lucan:

"It was explained that the application to West Sussex County Council for further works at Balcombe was expected to be lodged before the end of August (as announced on 28 June 2019) although no guarantee could be made that this would be the case. The earlier planning permission expired when the Company informed West Sussex County Council that previous works at Balcombe had been completed."

If "although no guarantee could be made that this would be the case" doesn't give them leeway to delay further... I don't know what does.

Let's face it... where planning goes (especially when dealing with ANGS) the ONLY surprise usually is "further delay!"

That's the bit that always raises my eyebrows:

IF Balcombe was such a star asset (as they're now keen to make out) why has it been left abandoned for so very very very long. Why bunny-hop to work on Brockham first instead?

Wouldn't you think anyone in the right mind would have put planning in last year to get this up and running as a priority?!?! Even if ANGS did not have the wherewithal... you would think - at least -their partners would have shown a little more enthusiasm... NO?

And.... as I type... they still haven't even submitted planning, but have said via RNS that there can be no guarantee that any application will go in by end of August!

If this doesn't set alarm bells ringing... seriously... it should!

Sadly, just because our Bod don't see fit to fully disclose JTP's dodgy dealings.... IF, as they claim: "the investigation has confirmed that the Company's share dealing code was not complied with", then IMHO it is NOT CASE CLOSED.... more likely: case swept under the carpet for convenience!

The problem is:

this kind of sloppy leadership really does not wash with "serious" investors in 2019.

If ANGS want to genuinely engage with the market, they need to wash the nasty stink from their old clothes... because if they don't... it will just follow them around to their detriment (like JTP) for as long as they last!

(In other words: Tut tut tut JTP... but what the Hell, let's move you sideways and in a few months time all those LTH's with short term memory loss will have forgotten and our new investors won't have a clue!?!)

Come on... surely you have heard of day traders and profit taking. The hike on Friday will have had every trader on AIM jumping on board... and as we all know, they don't hang around for news... all they're interested in is a quick safe profit. No harm in that?
I would have been surprised not to see selling happening and not to see some consolidation before the next push upward. Let's see if the MM's can keep a lid on it on Monday; I expect not!

When it comes to "failure!" JTP is the undisputed King IMHO. Deserves to lose the shirt off his back!

The BOD have sidelined him... but they need to remove the joker from the pack entirely in order to draw a line in the sand for ANGS. If he were booted out for good... even I might be convinced that new BOD sentiment was genuine!

For the SP to truly recover, we need faith to be "fully" restored and that needs a healthy dose of integrity and transparency... the two attributes which have been sadly missing from this company in recent years.

Clearly LTH's have been deceived and lost a lot of money here... if court action is the only way to get this BOD to hold their hands up... then it's all good as far as I can see. Regardless... at least the truth will out!

Just off the top of my head I can think of two that I was fortunate enough to be invested in:

Sky... share price slow crash.. followed by buy-out at double share value, and Imagination Technology which was bought out at a similar premium.

SolGold is the other that most folk refer to... not a buy-out... but certainly a steep multi-bag share in its time.

You have to remember that Amer do NOT need to sell... so any low-ball offer will be rejected. The only way Amer will be sold is at a premium and the lowest offer on this basis would be highest SP over the past 12 trading months = 20.5p + 40% premium (standard practice) Even then... this brings us to circa 29p... which is a considerable premium to Friday's SP!

30 - 35p seems more likely to me - if anyone out there is seriously looking to tie up a deal asap (and kill the competition) before more resources are proved up via our current drills... any further successes and the price goes up yet again!
