As far as I’m aware, THG affirmed guidance on their last call?

Just for context OSG, Myprotein sales were stalling and went backwards just prior to the last major rebrand, when still in private hands. It powered on from there post rebrand. They are right to invest in the my protein brand/nutrition brands, otherwise it should be shifted on another owner. Time will tell if they’ve got it right, but at least give them a chance to see the results before sticking the boot in.

Agree @lifeisarisk took the opportunity to double my holding here today. Very hopeful for H2 on this one

Thanks APH for the crystal ball. I see a market meltdown caused by unexpected rate hike in Japan in conjunction with a weak US job report. If it was the later in isolation there would have been a muted response, but this has cause mayhem because of the rapid unwinding of JPY/USD carry trades, and then positions being liquidated across the market. I’ll be buying steadily this week for my portfolio, when the dusts settles, rates will be cut in US, rapidly if the labour market requires it, and inflation will be gone. The is nothing to fear here IMO

For balance PP1, THG were deliberately exiting smaller, low margin clients 2023, and pivoting towards focusing only on enterprise clients. 2024 has seen H&B, Frazers and Adjtya signed up as new clients, and a return to revenue growth.

Stronger yen, accelerated rate cuts pp1.

Both good news for THG when the dust settles.

Chin up lads. Short term volatility overdone due to rapid unwinding of carry trade. Slaying of inflation and rate cuts will lift this share IMO.

Amazing volatility, as 1 pencil points out, seems to be as a result of rapid unwinding of carry trade.

Correction in US tech valuations is healthy and needed.

Correction in already battered UK shares is yet another great buying opportunity. Fortunately I have some dry powder so adding.

@crafty keep up the good work. Although not reflected in share price yet, THG looks to have made solid progress over the past 12 months on a number of initiatives:

- automation, cost out, selling off non core, simplifying the group, margin enhancement, FCF+

- offline partnerships & licensing deals

- Ingenuity clients - Frazers, H&B, Aditya

We all know the hyenas are going to all be out on a down day spreading their doom and gloom, but I think most of the weak hands have already sold up here, and most retail who are invested can see through the games and ride out the short term volatility. Rate cuts takes us once step closer to the end game IMO

Just for balance - I’m breakeven for THG, so not chasing losses like you claim we all are . Very happy to be invested at these levels, I think the risk reward is massively to the upside.

Rome wasn’t built in a day crowman. I still believe looking at the way the youth of the day interact online and shop, THG has the right mix of services and infrastructure to be a big winner with Ingenuity. And in Beauty and Nutrition it has selected excellent markets to build deep expertise. MM’s big backers still behind him. You keep throwing stones, but I believe those with patience and conviction will be rewarded here, especially those building positions at these levels

@VC you are correct on the mix of Ingenuity revenue and the need for different multiples.

At the moment Mr Market applies a single multiple of O (or I would argue actually -ve)!

Keen to see the new Ingenuity Chair/CEO team start fulfilling Ingenuity’s potential and get some sales away.

I still believe that THG’s one stop shop of International D2C services for brands is a compelling proposition. The capex is spent, let’s have some whales landed and force a rethink in the City.

PP1. Thanks for your concern. You don’t short and you don’t have any interest in buying THG shares. Just warning the less intelligent than yourself off this investment many times a day. For someone who is so much smarter than the rest of us, it is an odd way to spend your days. Wouldn’t it be smarter to spend time looking at shares where you intend to take a position?

Good post traintracks, I think MM might be looking to surprise the market to the upside on margin this year with all the benefits of automation investment coming through, plus margin enhancing initiatives like with Iceland hitting the p&l. Let’s see.

Re Nutrition, growth is rarely in a straight line. Nutrition had a soft period pre the last rebrand whilst in private hands. When you look at MM track record driving that division forward over the last 10 years, I back them to get it right. There has been a big push into offline over the last 6 months, will be interesting to see how this starts to impact the p&l and forecasts as we move into 2025.

Yespsb, Apollo did make offers and according to OVMH note it was c£2.20. Whilst I have no time for people who moan about it I’m not being accepted by the BoD (it was rejected by the majority of shareholders on both value and deal structure and therefore couldn’t be accepted), don’t think it is right to say no offer.

Struggle to see how any Board of a plc could argue that a low liquidity “transitional” share category is in the interests of shareholders for any sustained period of time. Standard listing has proven to hopeless as liquidity dried up…come on THG Board, don’t leave us hanging…
