Ripe for an MBO IMO

My average was low 70’s having bought last year, but now 62p having bought another lump in the “yen carry trade” sell off.

Understand those who bought at IPO will be jaded. I’ve tracked THG for many years, from pre IPO. Didn’t believe the valuation at IPO so stayed away.

Similarly, don’t buy into the “bag of spanner’s” narrative now, so happy to carry a big position (relative to my portfolio) at these levels.

Not sure why you are sticking up for @fringes. You made the a justifiable point on SOTP. No one argued with you. @Fringes the made some patronising comment about the maturity of the board. That’s after putting in the boot on crafty unnecessarily. Been here five minutes, “angry”, and banging on about VW twice in 5 posts. Not a great start. Go and buy VW if you love it so much and leave us alone

Agreed @Venture Ingenuity wins are key to driving value in the absence of capital event(s). Have heard unsubstantiated rumours of further client wins, let’s see if there is any Ingenuity good news in September update.

Nearly one month on from announcement of new rules, and no statement of intent from THG as we sit in the “transition” category. I know also S4 Capital haven’t put a statement out either. Has anyone seen any of the old “standard listing” Boards put out a statement? Looks like we will have to wait until September update for comment.

May not be a for sale sign up, but current valuation is a real handbrake to any inorganic growth. A PE backed take private could reignite M&A, provide those that want to derisk/exit an opportunity to do so at a significant premium to current sahre price levels, with a full exit for others in 3-5 years where SMS succession is dealt with. Could be very attractive to management and shareholders IMO.

Would be very surprised if big US PE are not circling on this one, it’s a no brainer

@moanyman I really don’t understand you. Didn’t you buy in relatively recently? and yet you just moan non stop about the Board? MM was not responsible to the inflationary shock post Covid that has cobbled many a business model. THG has survived when others

didn’t, and the pivot to focus on margin over the past 18 months has been pretty well executed from what I can see. That was under the chairman’s watch. MM retains the faith of the Chair and 95% of voting shareholders. Maybe sell up and find a share you like

Agreed @stevescott that is the current status quo, but THG is very cheap and things can change very quickly on news. Given MM's rhetoric, I don't believe THG's long term future is on the LSE. I also don't believe drifting along for months on end in the "transition" category is a credible strategy for the board. Something needs to give sooner rather than later, and with rates starting to come off, a take private might come into play. Lets see.

Rightly or wrongly, I do believe the reluctance to provide further detail is down to commercial confidentiality, as opposed to indifference/incompetence. People may not like it, but MM keeps his cards close to chest - likewise

him not to give a running commentary on strategic initiatives around Ingenuity/Nutrition/Beauty which should ultimately unlock value here.

I know many investors, want to see quicker results, but MM & the 65% most of who have been at this for over a decade, want maximum value for their assets. And rightly so.

As long as MM retains the support of the 65%, comfortable to stay invested and play the long game. GLALTH

@knowbody, IMO MM gave up trying to “manage” the share price a long time ago…

Great post btw Crafty on Klean. A great case study to demonstrate the potential of Ingenuity of as a “tech enabled service” partner to global D2C brands.

Whilst progress has been slower than I hoped for in terms of growth, still believe Ingenuity has a huge opportunity.

@oculus it is amazing how many people spend time on here posting MM out/BoD out, a matter of weeks after they just got voted in.

As ever, I remain happy to be aligned with the long term backers who call the shots here, in partnership with MM. Significant inherent value in the Group and am sure the BoD will make their moves when the time is right to maximise value. I don’t buy into the “gang of crooks”, “gang of muppets”, “bag of spanners” narratives.

Curious as to why no statement of intent around the LSE rule changes: are they keeping their options open
