As the easyJet system is working perfectly and the problem is at the airport with the airport system it can't possibly be anything to do with easyJet. Easyjet are victims of this along with the other airlines and have suffered material damage. They should be the ones seeking compensation.

This is a huge commercial opportunity at Milan where slots are very restricted. There's massive headroom for strong pricing on short duration flights from this central location.

Brexit has a massive impact on British citizens and therefore on easyJet. They are Europe wide but are disproportionately exposed to the UK. It makes little difference for the holidaymakers but it's massive for UK citizens living in Europe and for UK residents with second homes in Europe.

Brexit destroyed the freedom of UK citizens to relocate and the UK lost the ability to redistribute migrants.

It's a disaster for the UK.

Europe is nothing like the US. It's very lively in Europe and there's plenty of scope for new routes. Given the Europe quota for UK citizens many will have to look outside of Europe for holidays hence adding extra North Africa routes for winter.

The EU days are now calculated Europe wide so once the 90 days are used the UK citizen can't return for 90 days.

You have to remember that £203m was with Easter. This year Easter was in Q2 not Q3. 2023 was a big year with Q4 saving the year. Then the market beat the share price down.

£455m profit last year. £711m looks racy to me. £350m loss H1 so £1061m needed H2.

That will be exceptional in my opinion.

Next winter we'll see a much better performance with many more winter sun holidays

H1 this year included Easter so it should have been well up on 23.

Q3 doesn't include Easter and last year it was a £203m profit. On that basis I don't think that £300m is possible but I will remain open to the surprise.

You need to remember that Jet2 reported on last summer and easyJet reported on last summer many months ago. Easyjet will be reporting on Q3 which is to the end of June.

This should produce a profit between £220-250m even without easter.

Q4 July August and September will produce £700m+ profit. H2 it's possible to see £1bn profit as a headline figure.

I expect that easyJet holidays will be responsible for a big part of £100m+ additional H2 profit over least year.

The Jet2 figures were mirroring the excellent turnaround easyjet managed last year. This summer I believe that Easyjet are taking big chunks of Jet2 and ryanair traffic. Jet2 head to head in the holiday battle and ryanair eating into the DIY holiday market.

It's a bumper summer for the hotels of southern Europe and that supports a shift away from DIY rentals and ryanair mentality.

Just my opinion. The share price doesn't agree but I don't think that it's obvious from the UK what's going on.

£5.30 is just a reflection of the recent movement in the share price. The brokers have been consistently wrong, not one correct. Look back through. HSBC where looking a bit stupid at £7 and have made it apparently more realistic.

The share price is no way connected to the commercial opportunity or the financial position of the business.

The question is will they set aside any of this years profit to support the share price.

Everything has changed in the last few months so it's completely new. The EU monitoring system went live in May. Previously it was possible to go via another EU country and stay as long as you want. Now the EU is monitored as a whole so it is impossible to evade. I am an EU resident but unfortunately I have a UK passport so intra EU mobility is very difficult.

It's not true that it wasn't part of Brexit. Brexit ended all reciprocal agreements and they had to be renegotiated.

It ended reciprocal healthcare, access, education and many others. The UK citizen was totally screwed by it.

I have bought inland from mijas beyond the Sierra. Best of both worlds. 20 minutes to the coast. 40 minutes to Marbella. Inland mountains and lakes. Lots of golf, hiking, mountain biking and extreme sports. It's a great place to be and very well priced.

So far I see robust numbers up to Christmas compared to last year. Easyjet has it's biggest ever winter schedule to more destinations than ever. The curse of Brexit is doubling the UK flights for owners of homes in Europe with the 90 day rule. Many have sold but many remain.

I have taken advantage of that buying 3 houses costa del Sol from distressed UK sellers.

Those left can't remain all winter like they could before.

The short haul fleet is less than half the size of easyjet and the schedule is full of holes. Germany is having a tough time and Lufthansa are suffering.

It's not as simple as that. Lufthansa are not attracting the volume of bookings because they are not competitive. They are heavily reliant on brand loyalty, feeders into long haul and the business sector who don't want their people on LLC. The issue is indicative of their decreasing market share. They have been trying to solve that with mergers but ultimately they are dieing as a business with 95% choosing low cost over service. Convenience over brand.

Lufthansa are a dinosaur and easyJet are in no way connected to that. Where Lufthansa lose Easyjet win. Do some maths and you'll see. Check out the prices. I am looking at price modelling every day and I see Lufthansa around+70% typical.

Obviously has nothing to do with easyJet though. When a competitor feels the pinch then people are using other means. Within Europe on several routes Lufthansa and easyJet compete. On many alternative origins destinations easyJet and Ryanair can draw parallels but rarely compete head to head.

Ryanair and Lufthansa will definitely be feeling the easyJet success especially in the package sector.

Easyjet flights are full North to south. Easyjet holidays are asking hoteliers to increase their peak time volume as they have demand and a few seats left. However we need to understand the process and why this model is so strong.

The results for Q3 are very easy to call. The market reaction to the results is another thing and much harder to understand. The H1 results were strong and they destroyed the share price.

We need to be aware of the organisation behind the share price movement. The sells before the bell and the first few minutes. The misinformation news reports about missing targets when they called it exactly right.

That was repeated many places which is no coincidence.

I will be interested to see Jet2 summer 24 performance because easyjet holidays are definitely eating into their market. However the biggest loser will be ryanair as the DIY holiday market realises that Easyjet holidays are as flexible as DIY but cheaper and less hassle
