I will be interested to see Jet2 summer 24 performance because easyjet holidays are definitely eating into their market. However the biggest loser will be ryanair as the DIY holiday market realises that Easyjet holidays are as flexible as DIY but cheaper and less hassle

Whilst it's nice to think that easyJet could exploit the football travel of course they don't have aircraft and crew and certainly couldn't just add into a major airport. Possibly a regional from a regional but they are not a taxi or private jet service. Easyjet has minimal redundant capacity as we have seen recently.

Personally I would like to think that they have sold what they have at good margin and don't have people and aircraft sat around doing nothing.

In it to win it in my opinion. I only have around 70000 shares and I am not interested in trading these tiny moves on low volume.

Q3 figures will be strong, up to £250m profit even without easter in the period. Anything over £220m profit will look positive. Of course those tripping the algorithms and stops are controlling the share price so we'll see if they want it up or down.

I am well in profit and let it rise.

Obviously some profit will be invested into all assets not just aircraft but this is an ongoing process. How do you think that they own the aircraft they own already. The profit is increasing as is the cash position so to make it so everyone can understand. I wonder what they will do with the excess profit after they have used 20% for the dividend and they have done everything else that they intend to do.

I wonder if they plan to support the share price. Even £50m would so some intent.

As we know the 319 are being returned to the lease provider as new aircraft are available. Some of those new aircraft may be leased but generally the trend is down.

The total number of leased A319s stood at 67 compared to 64 in HY1 FY22 and that of owned A319s at 29 versus 35. The number of A320ceos was 168, of which 63 were leased (plus one) and 105 owned. The number of A321s is unchanged at fifteen, of which eleven are leased and four are owned.18 May 2023

In fact easyJet own a good amount of their aircraft.

The decision about owning or leasing is a commercial one. Leasing allows rapid growth as the leasing company will have build slots in place years in advance. As we know easyjet now have a substantial forward order of frames and engines. However I still expect to see leased planes added where there's clear commercial advantage.

To ask my question again. I wonder if they will use some of the profit which will be around £500m after 20% goes to dividend to support the share price.

A dividend past is often compared as a % of the share price at the time of the dividend. An aspirational dividend future would be a bit reckless to suggest it as a percentage of an unknown share price.

The guidance is very clear. Last year it was 10% of profit after tax this year they hope to make it 20%> that will be an increase to more than double last year.

I don't understand why you argued such a simple to grasp point.

As they quote the dividend as a percentage of profit after tax it's 20%. Clearly it's not 20% of the share price which changes on a minute by minute basis. Why would they quote that on a future event. My point was about the remaining profit after the 20% so clearly link to and relevant to the profit. I didn't mention the share price so why are you making that jump. This is a future event

I guess the £500m question is what will they do with the excess profit from this year after the 20% dividend.

In my opinion absolutely zero chance of anyone buying easyjet out. Corporately a spin off separate listing for the holiday business may help achieve shareholder value as clearly the UK listing isn't cutting it.

However this is the reality of the business. The lease liabilities are future. Those aircraft will earn way more than that over the period.

The borrowings are more than covered. These situations are very normal and Easyjet use these assets to generate income and profits both of which are growing strongly.

It's got nothing to do with the commercial opportunity or the commercial performance.

I ignore the share price and stick to the facts. The share price is a reflection of fear and greed. In yourself and also how you perceive others. Larger investors power the movement. This drop started on good results and was totally organised. Once it starts it takes time to turn.

Easyjet has so much more commercial opportunity than wizz. easyJet holidays last year used just 4% of the seats so increasing this to 12/16/20% requires minimal physical investment. The holidays business profits on average 10 X the Airline business.

The only was wizz can do that is to add routes, aircraft and staff. Easyjet has it already in capacity. Same with Jet2 who have 70% of their seats allocated to holidays.

easyJet don't have allocated hotel capacity, there's a bidding process which is a kind of natural selection.

If easyjet don't sell the holiday it costs them nothing.

Dead weight is a big issue in the industry.

Volume remains very low and generally there's little to move the price. It moves up and down on spare change trades with no strong drivers in place. Very few long and midterm investors around so the Q3 results are not on the radar yet.

I believe that will deliver a record Q3 profit towards £250m.

Soon we'll hear about the successful agreement over pilots pay then the summer de risks and we'll move up.

Correct it's a total. Also there can't be buys without sells and vice versa . It seems convenient when it's a round number in value and suggests one trade but it's just a indication of value and not precisely correct.

Ultimately trades will remain unfilled and the price is set by the majority. If there's more sells than buys the price will be below mid and if there's more buys above.

If there's been £2m worth traded during the day and in auction a £6m sell the movement would be radical but here we are just +/-2% generally

The 4.30-4.35 period is the call period. The uncrossing period is random and that's when the trades execute.

This is why often it appears that the trade hasn't been executed at the end of the call period when actually it likely has already just not revealed yet.

Also it must be understood that auction trades can happen after the auction is closed if the price and criteria are met. This has happened to me before, when I open my account the next morning I find a trade from the night before that wasn't there.

Once the call period finishes, the auction then enters a random 30 second uncrossing period before uncrossing.

The period before uncrossing is random because it ensures that only orders that are willing to be executed are on the book at this point.

If the uncrossing time was known, then everyone would either place their orders or withdraw their orders as late as possible in an attempt to game the system. The randomness ensures that nobody gets an unfair advantage.
