I think that we'll see £5 very soon. It's a ridiculous level to be viewing as a target. It doesn't cover the airline and the holiday business is for nothing.

The market will start to see the light and separate the sector into winners and losers.

The price movement is just limited by the market appetite for risk. Clearly with a booming holiday business that could easily double or triple in size without major investment the share price is ridiculous. That said it's one step at a time

Expect much longer routes in the winter when North Africa receives massive growth this year. However this will be filled with the larger more efficient aircraft. It will matter but £5 up each seat goes a long way

Newboy absolutely true. I speak to lots of guests and as I have been saying for months the majority are on their first package converting from DIY but many are converts from the OTAs.

Exactly as I suggested. Easyjet holidays are clear winners. The competition will be feeling the easyJet expansion. Ryanair is the loser, others will also feel the pain

I believe that hotels have dropped others in favour of easyJet. We have at 8 hotels 500+ rooms at each.

And now they are back in strong profit. They have a lean model, expansion in the way of extra capacity and seats. The business is much fitter than pre-covid.

The days of £9.99 tickets are gone, the game is very different now. Easyjet holidays is a game changer for profitability. Massive returns from holiday bookings. One holiday customer is worth ten airline customers. Guess where the growth is and much of that comes directly from ryanair.

I believe that we'll see results above £220m profit. We'll see a strong move away from ryanair DIY holidays to easyJet

holidays. It's happening and it's going to happen more. Easyjet has made a huge win at Birmingham squeezing Ryanair catchment North of Luton and through the midlands. They will do the same at Southend squeezing Stansted.

I believe that the market has called it wrong and Ryanair can only discount to sell seats. I don't think that people like O'Leary. Most think he's a scumbag.

Ryanair will be shunned unless there's no choice. When easyjet becomes an option Ryanair can't compete.

£230m of which £65m is easyJet holidays is my guess.

I don't think that they are copying Jet2. They are way ahead of Jet2.

Jet2 have 70% of their seats on holidays. Easyjet may achieve 6% this year. Easyjet holidays margins are higher and they have much less involvement in the operation. Even the transfers are outsourced. Jet2 has a network of support, easyJet uses the hotel resources.

Easyjet can double or triple the holiday business without buying a single aircraft for the purpose. Easyjet don't have any blocked or allocated rooms so zero waste.

The hotels bid for the business and if the price is right then the holiday will sell.

Jet2 has regimented changeover days, this really screws the hotel up. Easyjet are limited to their flights so 15 a day into the big resort areas. Guests are arriving and leaving on a constant basis.

I find it incredible that the share price is here. It barely values the airline let alone the holiday business.

Tomorrow we'll see £220-250m profit in Q3 and another strong holidays performance.

Summer so far just isolated disruptions from crowdstrike and ATC.

When I see the competition struggle but the hotels are full I see that as positive not negative. It's easy to see why Ryanair are struggling. They have plenty of problems that are dragging them down. Easyjet are in a completely different environment

They have nothing to offer but cutting the price. Easyjet are spreading wide and concentrating their resources on their solid winners.

Luton Málaga winter easyjet 10 flights a week. Ryanair 3 flights a week. Easyjet are maintaining good prices. 8 months away base fares in the £40-100 range each way. Add a bag it doubles the 40-50 fares. This is a prime expat route. Easyjet have done their homework. This is the most popular easyJet holidays route. Around 120 hotels from Marbella to Velez Málaga fill around 30% of the seats just from Luton. Prices £600-1400 for 6 days in our hotel. I can tell you that Easyjet are making around £150 a head on top of the flight fare. That's nearly all profit. Some of those would have been on ryanair.

Half way into Q3 ryanair were warning of lower than expected prices whilst easyJet were reporting strong easyJet holidays performance.

Success for easyJet comes from the failure of others. I believe that we are seeing that right now. I am not surprised that ryanair are suffering. People travel on them when there's no choice. Easyjet has taken much of that away with expansion at Bristol and Southend and a new base at Birmingham.

The days of the DIY holiday are over. It's going to hit ryanair hard along with accommodation providers. The hospitality sector in Southern Europe is booming and city sectors are also reporting big numbers from those fleeing the heat.

Easyjet holidays have taken market from ryanair for sure. I don't see cuts in flight prices at easyJet. This is largely because on most of their routes much of the early release is set aside for the holidays business. They are setting aside around 6% which leaves the algorithm escalating rapidly.

I stick with £220-250m profit in Q3 which is very achievable even with Easter in H1 this year.

Ultimately this business is growing as is market share however even if it were modest growth the holidays business is growing rapidly that's clear to see.

However given that some easyJet holidays booking were rolled over to today the rooms were found along the Costa.

Clearly yesterday was a bad day for easyJet it looks like flights were delayed and cancelled above the normal rate. Today is about recovery and most airports affected are working around.

Historically we have seen much worse and they have still delivered a great year.

Easyjet won't be paying compensation but they have costs for sure away from direct compensation. It will dent the £9m daily profit for yesterday.

The compensation issue is just one aspect to consider. This morning most flights are back to normal despite crew and aircraft being displaced last night. Málaga had 30 crew on rest which proved a tough order to fill with hotels at capacity. Ho
