The govt placed a large MOD order with a spanish company who gave Harl £800m of it in forward orders to build various boats.

Harl were at the same time renegotiating a credit line already in place though due for renewal, at a very high interest rate. Govt minister(s) (tory) promised the govt would underwrite the loan but never did and then labour when in power refused to do so so they went tits up.

The CEO of H&W basically was extremely partial with the truth with the ultimate collapse of the co. which naturally has been bought out of admin with the same order book and no debt.

I said it reminded me of HARL, (they had a £1b order book but that did help them nor their assets)

I do think when companies PROJECT better times, eg: "and turns cash positive in 2026 based on guidance. " means its a hostage to fortune and certainly not a fact, and you are right, Lenders know exactly what it means.

The rate of interest on the loan is very important too.

I agree to an extent chris but this trend has lasted the length of the trial (many years). And that suggests that as good as the data appears to be to us, it might not be quite the same appreciation for those companies that have had a closer look at it?

Every year we say..." in the next 6 months data will blow the doors off" So here we are again saying within 6 months the new data will finally prove (which by implication it means it hasn't yet), that it works.

And yet still with this very near term, any day now, timeline, it still stubbornly refuses to rise as traders (its always traders), see CLN , (£

I know the SP means nothing I mean, absolutely nothing and has no bearing on AVCT at all, (and I am sure when it is 1000p we all agree it will still mean bugger-all then as well.)

However it is odd that since P1b was started in Jan the SP was around 57p and when dosing was confirmed in March the SP was in the high 30's climbing a few days later to 42p and now is about 20% lower?

It does follow a trend of the more data released, stretching back years, the lower the SP, which at the same time does make you wonder how "unequivocal" unequivocal really is?

But as I say thank goodness the SP means nothing.

Brad, No I agree I prefer the benefits we have, however it was to highlight that the US is more industrious than us and as we are all too well aware, our wonderful system of benefits is about to at last , actually bankrupt us, in which case the beloved (but broken) NHS will really suffer along with all types of benefits.

So our wonderful political class who never grasped the nettle, have allowed the most dire situation to develop that will only hurt the genuinely most needy in the UK.

yeah bline, because we are so much better, no drug addicts, our politicians are to be looked up to for their honesty and intelligence, and of course our police are beyond reproach. oh and our food has as many additives as you like in almost everything.

but yes we are far superior on cars. i mean look at the huge manufacturing we have. mini (bmw) and jlr (tata) (and aston martin (mercedes)

they have 10-15 day annual holiday no sick, less maternity and no paternity pay, and its easier to be sacked from your job. they have much higher productivity and back their own businesses. and we have taken their military might for granted, which if it was the other way around we would be just as ****ed too.

they are not perfect of course, who is, but we don't compare as well as you might infer.

Price margins are academic if it is based on either production capacity or comparative technology deficit.

The reason US firms outsourced was because it was cheaper to do so. If everyone opens factories in the US it will simply make the cost of the same goods more expensive to the US consumer, some of whom will not be able to buy that product.

Plus your enemy's enemy becomes your friend and if the world starts to readjust quickly with new countries and markets then the US might not be able to roll back on these tariffs should it want to.

Plus US products are not always the best or most desirable at any price. (Think most US cars).

All it "proves" is that timing is everything.

Everything you base your opinion on, is an IF. IF AVCT get bought out. IF P1B data delivers. IF there are no delays. IF cash flow is sufficient etc etc.

Imo the big problem for the US is how quickly dependent nations make alternative plans.

If they work closer together through necessity (and their may well be an element of "My enemy's enemy is my friend"), then when/if the US does want to re-instate better trade relations or relations generally, then these countries may not be quite so eager to do so having already developed alternative trading partners and import/export markets.

Well to be fair Thorn I think its already started.

over the last few weeks and months some have gone from imminent to 2-10 years for payback.

There seem split views on whether or not a ND listing will be the panacea that all here thought when it was first mooted.

Some are getting more critical of CC than they were when she started.

As for the tech. Well, it seems some again are starting to put timelines on outcomes whereas before they seemed more relaxed about the "as long as it takes" view.

Anyway, nobody has a gun at their head forcing them to buy or sell the stock. we can all do what we like.

There is no issue to solve. They will do RI for £30m? give them 18 months breathing space to get to P2 and thats when they take offers and sell. Or that was the plan years ago but we don't know if there have been any changes to it because as I try to remind you all. Not only do we not know whats going on, but the BoD won't tell us and ... THEY DON'T CARE.

So not only are we in the dark but most of you are only looking at it from your perspective rather than the company's. Naturally having misdaignosed the problem, you arrive at the wrong solution.
