RE: Any ideas the real reason for the BOD to start an FSP?21 Jun 2022 22:50
I know we are all going around in circles but there is No USP with EVE. It is one of many of a mattress in a box company that has a good, well reviewed product as do other mattress makers.
Its valued customer list is not that valuable if once bought unlikely to buy again for several years. Plus data on target markets is easily available, and although at a cost you don't have to buy and run a company to get the same info.
You like the product, I like the product, unfortunately if it ceased to exist life would easily go on and in 5-10 years when I need to replace or add beds/mattresses etc, the technology may well have moved on so that I only see further improvement on my "sleep wellness" situation via another company.
Look, eve may get bought out and the SP rises strongly but just as DGU did not answer my questions on how he arrived at his statement "Seems some people think EVE are down to there last few quid! I just don’t buy that given the facts — 4.5 million cash and increased stock holding etc etc etc". suggests that either he just hopes it isn't that bad or has done no calculation at all.
I just fear Jackbal is bang on the money when he said "Real reason is they realised they were going busy quicker than they expected due to increased promo activity and drop in rev’s."
The only positive I can see is how resilient the SP has been . Yes, the spread is hindering gamblers piling in but at the same time selling seems to have stopped. Its just in limbo until the picture becomes clear.
It looks as though buyers and sellers have already set their course. Now its a question of waiting.
(And finally, if you are risk averse, waiting is the easiest and safest path: EVE get bought out, the SP goes to 5p and then you buy in with the hope of profits and 6-8p on the horizon for little or no immediate risk. And I can tell you for nothing, most professionals don't like risk.)
