Aim, I try and look at the SP objectively.

The RNS included a profit warning which sent the shares down 40%. Since then there have been many posts that understandably are highlighting "positive" scenario's on assumptions that have no basis in any fact that we are aware of. I highlight this to hopefully make some aware of tjhat we all can see what we want to see, but that ultimately its a gamble and based on what we do actually know, its not a 50/50 gamble.

If it has made some here at least re-consider their course of action, or perhaps in the future be a bit harder on the criteria when making their decisions with their hard earned money then I'll be happy.

It is not to cause mischief but the very nature of these BB's is to be very skewed to the "best" outcome rather than any sort of balance or acceptance of less favourable outcomes.

Therefore as I try and post that perhaps more consideration should be taken of the potential downside it comes across that I am "negative", but that as I say is only due to the "group think" and lack of tolerability of any other views that most of these BB's enjoy that causes spiteful personal attacks.

I don't know what will happen in the future and don't pretend that I do. But I am aware that not every stock pick comes up smelling of roses.

I am not saying this is the case and you may well be correct in assuming it is a sign of confidence but when we don't know the full picture or facts its a bigger risk to make assumptions.

This is a very trying time for share holders and all any can do is to buy further or sell some or all, or wait.

To use TA almost every book will tell you to devise your own system (which is tricky while you are starting out.!)

You will hear a lot about back testing so what ever system you do use, then you should have historical evidence that it works.

A lot of it, for a newbie will be trial and error so don't commit much to any trade until you start to get a feel for what is working.

Paper trading is another tip. I started very successfully paper trading but when I put real money down it was not so good (motions ruled the day!) But its agood first step.

Beware leverage, at least to begin with. Whatever platform you use make sure you can go short as well as long. Trying to pick stocks (not great to trade on using TA), that can only go up limits your scope. So look at other products, (futures bonds etc)

What was/is the alternative DGU? selling at higher price that nobody will pay and then going bust sooner?

I find it odd that you have bought into a company where you don't think they have the most basic skill to understand the market they are selling into and don't know how to price their goods competitively.

You keep saying they should not expand into Europe. Why do you think they did?

Again do you believe their level of incompetence stretched that while losing money in the UK the answer was to spend money developing a market overseas on a whim?

Or could it be, that the market works on thin margins and the to break the cycle of hand to mouth EVE, while still having the cash to do so, went for the European market as it suggested that higher margins and less obvious competition was available?

They have been undone by recent events which clearly have scuppered their near term forecasts.

We wait to see what will unfold but your criticism of the BoD seems based on some sort of fantasy business environment you have concocted.

I think this is the nub of it D, if, if EVE are so close to break even then I think a bank loan or some form of borrowing is probaly possible.

The fact is I and the rest of us here, don't know quite how close to breakeven is "close" is?

Say Eve are burning £3m a year and are 10% away from increased sales to close that gap. How do you borrow against that when sales are now down 15% and maybe going to get worse and don't how long that situation will last?

For all the talk of cutting back in europe I would not be surprised if the business model relies on that expansion as the market is easier and less need to discount. It could be the lynch pin of the whole enterprise now?

I don't think that eve would go into admin (even if it does, who knows), with cash in the bank. I think the worse case scenario is not being able to carry on through no investor injecting funds or a buy out while trading.

The admin case is when all money runs out and no funding can be raised.

The unknowable is how long the cash in hand will last.

I wonder if the stock position re: Argos and Eve is that Eve have supplied Argos with stock to sell already but Eve now, due to this publicity have less credit time with the manufacturers. Ie it was 90 days now maybe, worse case, pay as you order up front?

I have no idea how this will play out only because there is so much critical info undisclosed to allow any sort of assessment of the chance of the various outcomes.

Thats why I won't dip in even with the possibility of a very good return.

Its playing the odds, so you have to cut losses quickly when that stop is hit. No room for sentiment. Its just a number on a graph. that way you can lose 2 out of 5 and still make money.

if you are losing 3 out of 6 ie 50/50, well then your stops or entry points are wrong.

well, it has played about with the resistance around 8.38 - 8.5p and so far and it has not had the legs to go through.

I have had a smallish top up as I had not expected it to be visited again but often the market can be quite kind in letting last minute stragglers get on board. (I hope this is one of them)

Morning D, I guess it is a bit of a rock and a hard place for the big shareholders. Say PP had sold, what would that say about the expectations of the BoD?

On the plus side though, I am encouraged by the solidity of the SP around this level.

I am sitting on good profits already on the run up to more trial updates.

The difference here is I am relatively sanguine to the result. It will be what it will be. Meanwhile the market gyrates around taking the good down with the bad.

I am not wedded to AVACTA as a company its simply a vehicle (as it is for all of you) to try and cash in on its coat tails.

I was talking in generalities and that the market takes a broad brush approach in these types of situations to explain my view of the recent SP weakness. But as predictably usual you are so blinded by your dislike of me you are incapable of reading and understanding a straight forward innocuous reply to another posters question.
