GGIS, thanks and that's what I'd have thought too. Hope that's right and no stupid knee-jerk response by the Govt to public pressure damages IOG's figures.

Windfall tax being pushed for on gas companies et al, typical just as IOG finally get into production. Surely they can't whack us with a massive charge at this early stage to put a massive dent in the figures ?!

Excuse for any lack of understanding of gas flow figures but why do posters on here mention flow rates so much higher than the ones either side of 50 mmcf/d quoted in Peel Hunt presentation ? Are production rates typically so much higher than those ?

Scored, they wouldn't be able to tell you outside of a RNS as it would be market sensitive info, so wasting your time.

It has the worrying smell of a shorting attack but those things are normally publicised?

The sceptic in me (and experience of being a LTH of IOG) makes me worry there is news leaking out and some negative news could be coming, but can't imagine what, unless we've been blatantly lied to about Southwark ? If not that, then this selling on back of great news is madness. If it continues when Elgood first gas is announced this week then the board should be declaring that there is no known reason for the decline as surely they should be baffled too.

I'd expected to see posts this morning regarding weekend media coverage of good news issued Friday ahead of first gas this coming week (tmw?) but alas nothing as yet. Surely at some point the story must spread and interest flourish ?!

I thought a splurge of late buying might have come in to avoid missing being invested at the bell on Monday in case first gasflow arrives over the weekend, but no.
So could be a large gap up first thing if RNS prior to market opening.....fingers crossed !

Dunderhead, surely RRE or SQZ would not have done as well as they have if they'd been encumbered with some of IOG's issues so not so some as to just say that. IOG board far from great but got to where we're at now so waste of time and effort to complain as not going to change anything as they'll be seen as having delivered against objectives ! There were times I thought my investment was all but gone but now IOG about to start flying it seems so let's just enjoy it whilst we can !!

Very welcome update on Southwark and gas sales agreement. First gas probably not before Monday I guess or surely would have held this RNS to later and announced all in one.

Late today would be fine as coverage of news over weekend might then result in buying spree from the bell on Monday to rocket us up through 50 and beyond hopefully. But not really bothered when as the end result should be the same !

Thanks, SailorNL, great update as usual and promising both for first gas and Southwark activity at last. Hopefully a string of positive newsflow over next few weeks to really boost IOG sp.

I assume IOG are working their proverbials off getting the best possible offtake agreement signed up to announce it together with first gas, or maybe they will hold back to announce separately to keep good newsflow going?
Would very much welcome a Southwark update about the remedial work but from Sailor's update it sounds unlikely due to lack of activity there which is concerning.

I really thought we'd fly this week with first gas about to be flowing and large daily cash inflow coming in, so very surprised to see sp stuck around 40p and even stepping back slightly (even though trade info not trustworthy on here as commented). Roll on first gas RNS !

Thanks GGIS and GoldAnOil for your replies. Low risk of first gas not following by this time next week then it seems which is a relief having added £21k to my holding yesterday. Hesitated early doors and ended up paying 3p per share more than I could have , but hoping that will be insignificant by end of year !
SailorNL, Southwark is a concern agreed, due to lack of further newsflow and activity judging by your valuable updates. Everything crossed that the remedial work will resolve successfully and can proceed close to planned timings.

GoldAnOil, I'm not concerned about timing as such, just want to understand if backgassing is a straightforward necessary step to flow starting that always goes fine or if there's issues that can and sometimes do arise.

GGIS, God forbid nos at this stage bug what are the sort of issues that could arise with back-gassing to delay first gas beyond the week later target and how much delay for such issues cause, or can they even still be catastrophic even at this stage? Not being pessimistic but just want to understand if any real likelihood of first gas not being here within the week estimate.
