I must admit that with the local opposition to MdB mine then I am not sure the EU would risk the negative publicity of allocating green funding to a contentious mining project, despite the downstream alignment with green EV's to replace gas guzzlers. But no harm in DA trying to raise profile of project at such levels as nothing ventured....

Under basic economic principle of supply and demand, why is energy pricing in UK so high if there is over capacity of gas ?!

So any buyout bid should be made by mid August latest to get cheapest price possible before your anticipated re-rate on half year earnings figs.

The concern is that the big holders will just keep selling into any sp rise though and drag it back down very promptly. A buyout or a deal by the BOD with LOG administrators is needed imo.

I'm guessing nobody would take the chance until IOG prove they can fix the Blythe problem properly.....

As govt is applying pressure to big energy firms to invest their huge profits then surely one of them could take over IOG at a healthy price of 50p or more to help kill two birds with one stone ?!

Selling pressure returns today. Seems like it's going to take some significantly positive news to get the sp back into the 30s but even then I guess the sellers will just sell into the rise in volumes to bring it back down....depressing situation really and just holding out for hopefully excellent flow production rates when finally announced and a takeover bid on the back of it, but could be many months away as the permanent Blythe fix not even in place yet and no doubt they'll want months after that of flow before announcing so I feel Southwark news may even come before stabilised production rates. Either way, 100% positive news needed on all fronts or were going to plummet further.

I'd like to think that IOG is just a sleeping cat ready to rise back up to its previous sp levels and beyond rather than a dead cat with no more than final twitches of a penny rise or so before its final demise.

Trustatrade - Snap ! I could have written your post myself as same thing happened with me and same sentiments now.

This is sickening to be rapidly heading to half the sp since first gas was announced. The trading volumes are not big but the drops are very chunky so the MM's surely playing a game with IOG's sp. Surely there must be potential buyers out there waiting in the wings waiting for the drop to look done who will then pounce with an offer for the company at a much lower price than it would have cost them in Feb or March ?

By my reckoning it would take a bid of 290-300 million to take over IOG based on GGIS's 44p price per share and to pay off the LOG options and the BOD's ridiculous LTIP options. Less of course for BH as they already own a chunk.....come on Mr Buffet, you know it makes sense !

Peakview - I too have said previously. The mgt at PI meeting could hardly have said anything negative as that would be illegal if price impacting. But I am convinced there is something going on and undecided whether to join the exodus or remain in case it turns out to attract a bid of 40p or more which would obviously look attractive now with an sp in 20s. I would love a bid now to get out of here with a profit and end the misery. Very frustrating as it looks a no-brainer winner on paper given the producing assets, prospects and gas market but clearly other factors are preventing IOG sp performing accordingly. It's a bit of a coin toss....

Massive selling pressure today. Is there a leak of bad news coming our way? This BOD have to go if so as keeping us in the dark whilst others know would be unforgivable and criminal imo, but as ever there would be no recourse. Something stinks here as it makes no sense whatsoever otherwise to plummet like this for no clear reason . The BOD should be making a statement to declare they know of no reason for the sp decline, but only if that is true of course.....suspicious and time will tell. Nearly sold on flow news but decided I'd keep the faith but that's been a huge and very costly mistake so far.

Scored - you forecast drop to 27p next so I do not understand why you are frustrated ??! This is following your prediction exactly so far.....
