Hi chuz - NED’s don’t have an operational day to day role in a company. They are usually vastly experienced and are there for their wisdom and kind of act in a watchdog capacity holding the executive team to account.

They also sit on the board committees dealing with things like board nomination, remuneration, audit, etc. Not too sure what the requirements are now but when I was studying good corporate government meant having 50% NED participation on these boards.

They are supposed to be independent of the executive leadership and have shareholders and other stakeholder interests at heart. They should be holding the executive to account - questioning, challenging strategy, etc.

The value for Texas will be the costs to date for the asset under construction. So cost of land, taxes, legals, architects, planning fee, M&E, construction contract payments, etc.

The irony is the market is pouring plenty of money into green and renewable energies but it's not like we can just turn a tap off.

I'd urge you wife to have a look at the current energy prices to see what happens when fossil fuel becomes scarce. I'm sure Greta hasn't factored that into her manifesto.

The online tax won’t and can’t happen without the co-operation of all the major global players. Instead of an online tax the compromise was a minimum tax level which was struck earlier this year.

The more and more I think about it there’s no way Shein can be dispatching from within the UK. A warehouse in the UK would be a UK establishment for tax purposes, meaning UK corporation tax would be due on UK profits.

They would have to pay import duty on the goods they are importinginto the UK warehouse and they would then have to charge the UK customer UK VAT.

The whole reason their margins work is being they are shipping low value goods under the import disclosure limit direct to customer in the UK so the customer doesn’t have to pay any tariffs nor vat.

Problem with EV is valuing a business is an art in itself that no one can agree on. EV’s all a bit academic. At least calculating PE while a bit rough and ready is relatively simple to do and highly applicable across many industries as long as you have an educated expectation of what a good result is in each industry.
