That was my guess also - with Bain going long 3%+ it is most likely they don't want to try and take on a $75bn powerhouse..... as they had bought in around 430p+ 7mn volume and a flat sp today does indicate that we have a "blow-off bottom inverted hammer" signal last time we saw that signal was the closing of the rights issue shorts in late april 2015 - clearly it might be a few days before we will know for sure due to reporting lags. I am looking forward to a nice s.p. snap, and who knows maybe even news of next acqn :) But

I should have added that Bain exceed the 3% threshold on the 1st Nov - so they would have been acquiring at 430p+ so taking a longer term view the likes of Bain will perceive this as floor level for all deals proposed ( which also fits with Technie chart view that sp needs to recover back to 427p+

I see alot of similarities to the graph leading up to the Skrill deal - an announcement of a large acquisition similar to Skrill is probably the most likely way they will achieve the $10bn MV referred to by JL. At anyrate sp is now currently back at sp the same as just prior to the mid year update on 10 August - so no dig deal really. I agree with Technie that not alot of investors ( buy and hold type ) necessarily look at charts and in that regard neither do soem PE firms like Bain - who lets not forget just took a 3% stake..... perhaps they know the acquisition/acquiror quite well.....and as we saw with the Skrill acqn the sp can spike signifiacantly overnight. And Bain don't get involved for 10-15% return - they like to add at least a zero to that. GLA

or it could be we are just being primed for a cheap bid - watch this space - I could see a low ball 550p bid being tabled - alot of PE firms like Bain that are cash rich right now and the volatility being spun due to the "DT effect" is just mana from heaven - they can buy really great companies at very low PE (sub 12 at 550p) , take private and then IPO for PE of 25+ in 4 years time when DT is out the door..... PAYS is debt free by end 2017 if not earlier, Skrill is integrated, GOLO is developed and being rolled out and market expected to grow by 30% p.a. to 2021 ........deal heaven !!!

Liquidating some of the technology investment and moving it into banking and commodities on assumption of Trump policies - which is all a bit premature ahead of 20 Jan

General hit to the Tech sector - Google;Apple;PAYPAL; Mastercard,Visa, Worldpay - all off by 1.5% to 4 % today whilst Banks and commodities are up by 5% to 15% Pays fairerd no better or worse

Indeed JD - if I am not mistaken they are still holding a huge percentage of Worldpay similarities in the name - it could just be coincidence ( but I doubt it) - one of the shorters -....................................... Public Equity Partners Management Ltd and now long we have ................Bain Capital Public Equity Management, LLC ("BCPE Management") The ownership can be different of the funds but the masters could be the same...if so then the shorts were a ruse to get the sp down. Looks like we may be in play

IMHO - we just become more vulnerable to a takeover

@GS - I couldn't agree more that we are vulnerable as a takeover target - but if we manage to avoid then I also see a bright sp ahead. If you read last yr's 3rd Qtr update statemnet it was just as dull and BAU as this years - so no surprise there -I take it for what it is - management re delivering. There may be more in the tank but for now they probably feel best to overdeliver and underpromise. Our sector is projected to grow at 30% CAGR - whilst we are at £2.2bn now - you don't have to look back too far to when we were sub £500mn Market Cap - yet hear we are two years later having grown by 4 times in Marlket Cap - nothing to say we won't do the same again - the opportunities are there. Not many investments out there that will do that for you in the same timeline in my experience.

@phoenix - Current sp is only about 10% off its all time high - so no real biggy IMHO - and todays sp is reflective of the sp when the interims came out on 10 Aug. for me the key is the sentiment JL conveyed when he said he wants to grow the Market Value of PAYS to $10bn - we are currently around $2.7 - so we are talking a four fold increase from current levels and probably deliberatly JL quoted the Market Cap in USD and not GBP. Therefore one might form a view IMHO of the following : a) There are a number of "roadshow" presentations to the Technology Capital Martkets over the next number of weeks.- what is the additional message and to whom - looks like JL might be holding back any news for those events - so don't be shocked if there is a big announcemnet next week/week after b) Last year the name was changed to Paysafe from Optimal payments - the latter having previously been listed on Nasdaq back in 2009 as part of Optimal Group Inc before being bought by Neovia - so I read that that we will get a Nasdq listing in the not tooo distant future - that in itself should see a much higher PE multiple from the current PE of 10. c) The quoting of market cap in USD - just re-iterates my point above about Nasdaq. So in other words - I see the next piece of news as driving this price to new highs and that might not be that far off

I tend to ignore the media on the US elections and follow the money Bookies have Hillary as odds to win - where you can still get 3/1 on the donald - that should add another good bounce next Tuesday

@GS - agreed, I think current sp will prove v good value in not too long a timeframe - the Canadian Article where JL talks about growing Market Cap to $10bn is a v good indicator to me that we can expect news next week - perhaps game changing

apparently it can be as short as 4-6 weeks if no issues - seems the US market is way quicker than UK market https://www.quora.com/How-long-does-it-usually-take-to-list-on-the-NASDAQ So if they applied next week - you would imagine they could commence trading on 1 Jan 2017 ( 6 weeks away) - with 3 roadshows at the tech conferences in Nov/Dec

Next week is the 1 year anniversary of name change from Optimal Payments to Paysafe and entry to FTSE250. As a fitting Birthday I suspect JL might just announce a dual NASDAQ listing alongside the qtrly update. The significance of name change to my thinking was thought through along time ago to facilitate a return to Nasdaq - clearly Optimal Payments as part of Optimal Group inc couldn't really r-list on Nasdaq under that brand name. A year on and Paysafe as the brand name is well and truly bedded down. I see Citi Tech confernece NY on 10 Nov has also been added to Agenda - so that makes 3 tech conf in Nov/Dec I am guessing that is in support of a potential Nasdaq listing in Jan 2017 I look forward to the sp being re-rated closer to the 27/28 Paypal trades on and not our paltry PE of 10 $10bn is the target MV in JL mind - and a NASDAQ listing is a pretty sure bet as part of realising that ambition in my view GLA

At current levels I estimate we are in or around a forward PE 10 - at these levels I would not be surprised if we see a bid materialise in short order, in or around 525p - looking to take PAYS out on the cheap.
