what this needs is a class action lawsuit for $10bn against the shorters who acted in concert - it should be under-written by LSE in the interests of promoting a "regulated market" ...the longer this type of nefarious behaviour is tolerated just becuse the shorters are $billion HF then the less credibility this market will have. This would be a great test case on discovery to find out who these anonymous authors are - would they be so outlandish with thier claims/lies if the had to defend it in court - that is what joe public would be obliged to do in these circumstances - why can these guys hide behind brass plate companies - just because they have bigger wallets that is not how the market should operate

when there is a high degree of volatility like today the inevitable "new" posters appear - they have no track record or history of postings - so I recommend people have a look at profiles - I just spotted one over on another board - they had only set up an account about 2 weeks ago and it was their first post - with the usual ... "I am not a shorter ... I don't have the money to be" type rubbish thrown in - needless to say the main aim was to sow uncertainty given todays events...

that anonymous report is the biggest load of cobllers I have ever read full of " may, possibly, in our view, could , might" language and very short on facts that is why it is anonymous - it wouldn't stand up in court and who ever wrote it would be bankrupted and probably jailed. but it served its purpose - a nasty and viciuos way for the shorters to close their short positions without getting their todgers handed to them on a plate as they did so via a short squeeze. As Sheepy stated come a few weeks this will all have blown over and sp will be heading well above 500p ....shame on the regulators for not stamping out this type of nefarious behaviou it makes a mockery of the term "regulater market"

It talks about Paysafe stubbornly trading at an unjustifiable discount to the sector. The say they appreciate the concern around Bet365 exposure in China but have less sympathy for the concern around the new anti money laundering regulations that are coming in (AML 4-5) . They think the latter will increase the know your customer cost but should only have a modest impact on the underlying business. The shorters seem to have a different view. Barclays' overweight stance and 610p target is driven by the expected ongoing above sector earnings growth. They also think an acquisition that dilutes exposure to china and /or gambling would be a catalyst for a multiple rerating. Barclays forecast adjusted EPS for 2016, 2017 and 2018 are $C 40.3, 47.9, 54.8 .This is growth of 57.4%, 19% and 14% respectively. I hope this is of some help

and doing so on relatively light volumes - so it must be a case of who is buying rather than volume they are buying - wouldn't surprise me if there is an actione packed afternoon in the making

@breatheasy- here is the conundrum - shorters have pushed down the sp by 25% in the last 6 weeks , meantime we have Barclays telling us that they are upping target price by 9% to 610p - 250 p higher than the market price that is a whopping 70% premium. DJ's purchase of shares probably rules out PAYS making an acquisition - if one had been on the cards via a merger the pushing down of sp by 25% probably foisted it in the short to medium term. So we have Barclay's telling us PAYS are worth way more, we are on target to deliver record revenues and EBITDA, we are on single digit PE - in other words we are prime for a speculative bid in a market where Barclays are saying will slow in 2017 - i.e. growth will have to be by acquisition - so watch this space ; instead of PAYS being the acquiror it looks like probability just swung in the favour of PAYS being the target of a bid - only silver lining in that scenario is that the shorters get caught on the hop and lose a packet - no doubt they will be thinking the same and we make see them close out asap. There is of course a very deep pocket outfir out there who recently took a 3% stake. Lets see what comes in the next few days and weeks GLA

With the 8th only a few days away and JL speaking at the Berenger conference I expect we might get news v soon - otherwise JL will spend the 8th fielding questions from analysts about acquisition. FYI - a HF that get involved in alot of M&A deals has just entered on the fray on the shorts - typically they will go long the co to be acquired ( whoever that is ) and short the acquiring co. ( i.e. PAYS) IMHO the probability just went up that a deal to be announced shortly - skill resulted in a 50% sp rise last time out !!

@smart_inv I would agree, feels like tree shake is way overdone - we are back to the dip price before the 8th auguest update - in which it jumped back to over 417p in a week. We already know from the Nov update that we are on track to hit the numbers so this is just shorters frighening a few pi's into selling ( volumes have been v light considering the % drop from peak) - so when it reverses I expect ti will be sharp and steep Of course it may be these levels are there to make a bid at say 550p look very generous when in fact they would be stealing the comany for loose change. Not long to go before we are due an update - those that have been here a few times know best to just wait and watch sp rise dramatically

next Thursday 8th Dec - Berenberg conference - Wirecard; worldpay and Ingenico are all there - might just be the day of an announcement - perhaps ?

..... I have a feeling your buddy may be more right than wrong... plenty of signals that something is a foot - none more obvious than JL's tfr of his shares out of Canada ( 30% CGT I believe) ...as technically he is now an IOM resident - wink wink & 0% CGT !!

We look to be forming a double bottom "W" at 390's level - v similar in many ways to Jul 2015 - and look at how the sp almost doubled in the following 9 months - poss bid might shorten that timeline considerably.

interesting that JL moved shares into his name from canadian co - IOM CGT benefit me thinks ..... interesting both events coincide at the same time could prove a very interesting number of weeks ahead

We will soon be hitting the 6 month timeline since the initial attempt to hold back the sp, which may prove significant especially with full yr trading update just over a month away. there have also been some housekeeping moves in relation to product offering that make me think an announcement of a deal are potentially close. for every seller there is a buyer and visa versa - only the direction of sp has any meaning - and again that is up today. For those that follow it - Naked Trader wrote today Paysafe - (LON:PAYS) - I bought some more yesterday as they had drifted down for a few days - looks a real bargain and it is back on the way up. It is in one of the best sectors of the market and be no surprise if it was bid for at a substantially higher price. GLA

@GS - ha,ha if the short was about anticipation of a bad trading update - why didn't AEK close its June short when there was a good trading update in Aug. Nov 2016 trading update might have read as BAU but then again so did Nov 2015's update - in fact the wording is almost identical. If I am right we will probably know before end of year maybe in the NY

londonmf- - my money is on a possible acquisition/ bid and this is a rehearsed move to walk down the price first by the big boys Have a look back at what happened just before Skill acqn - sp was walked down from over 500p in Oct 2014 to almost 300p in Feb 2015 before it spiked on announcement of Skrill acqn to 550p by 15 Mar 2015 ( all dates approx) - pretty sure most of the manipulators got in when it bottomed at around 300p and virtually doubled their money on exit at 550p Their problem is that we are getting wise to their antics and the "sheep" as they see pi's are not panicking like they used to ...anyone buy a big block of stock lately at a pretty good price well below all time high ?

It could be shorts closing /reducing and I expect us to hit the 410.7p level noted on the 3.6mn share purchase 2 days ago - but if not then I think we are odds on for an RNS after markets or tomorrow

If they traded on similar PE then perhaps but PAYS has already been discounted by more than 2.5 times ( worlpay sit on a PE of 24.9 to Pays sub 10) Don't be fooled by the MM - they only make revenue when there are trades - so they like to create volatility - in reality the only sales are probably by pi's not ii's -BAIN who own 29% of Worlpay just bought 3% - they are the smart money I would follow their lead
