RE: Losing streak15 Nov 2024 23:10
DenFos,
I don't ever watch CNN and I never claimed Harris had strong support. Although having said that she was thown into an impossible situation by Biden's reluctance to step down.
In 2020, Mr. Trump won 74 million votes; the 2024 tally is 73 million as of Friday. Simply put, in raw numbers, Mr. Trump did no better this time than he did in 2020. So what happened? In 2020, Joe Biden won 81 million votes; so far, the Harris tally is 69 million. Had most of those who voted for Mr. Biden showed up, she would have won handily. So the real question that needs to be analyzed is: Why did 10-plus million Biden voters sit out this election?
The fact that Trump failed to increase his support from the 2020 election suggests that there is a huge constituency of potential voters out there that are not prepared to vote for a convicted sex offender who has bullied and lied his way through life. Despite this reticence, they are clearly no more willing to vote for a Democratic Party that does not offer to do the things that they want government to do.
