Everything will settle once Trump takes office and starts the appeasement policies with Putin.
From history we know this kind of action, appeasing an aggressor, will only store up a much bigger problem down the line.
In the years before WWII, several leaders outside Germany adopted policies of appeasement toward Hitler:
1. Neville Chamberlain (UK) - British Prime Minister from 1937 to 1940, Chamberlain’s Munich Agreement in 1938 allowed Hitler to annex the Sudetenland, aiming to prevent war, which he wrongly claimed secured "peace for our time."
2. Édouard Daladier (France) - The French Prime Minister joined Chamberlain in the Munich Agreement, despite doubts, due to limited French support for war and concerns over military readiness.
3. Lord Halifax (UK) - As Foreign Secretary, Halifax backed Chamberlain’s diplomatic approach, promoting negotiations to avoid conflict.
4. King Edward VIII (UK) - Though not a politician, Edward VIII was sympathetic to Nazi Germany, meeting Hitler in 1937, which led to questions about his loyalties.
5. António de Oliveira Salazar (Portugal) - Portuguese Prime Minister who maintained neutrality but allowed early concessions to Germany to avoid conflict.
6. Miklós Horthy (Hungary) - Hungary’s regent allied with Hitler in hopes of regaining lost territories, accepting Nazi influence in exchange for Hungary’s gains.
7. Benito Mussolini (Italy) - Initially cautious, Mussolini aligned with Hitler in 1936 with the **Rome-Berlin Axis** and mediated the Munich Agreement to support Hitler’s demands. By 1939, the **Pact of Steel** committed Italy and Germany to military alliance, further emboldening Hitler.
These appeasement policies ultimately failed, encouraging Hitler’s aggression and leading to WWII in 1939.
